  1. Wow. How is this still a thing people are doing on hot mics?? How dumb do you have to be to just.... not be a racist/bigot/whatever while at work? As dumb as Thom Brenneman apparently.
  2. I would think taking a bases loaded walk and standing there with the bat on your shoulder would be more annoying to the other team than swinging at pitches. Maybe that's just me.
  3. The Texas rangers through a temper tantrum and through behind the batter because Fernando tatis Jr broke an unwritten rule by swinging at a 3-0 pitch and hit a Grand slam with the Padres leading by 7 runs. I just can't. these unwritten rules have gotten beyond the point of ridiculous. what are you supposed to do? Just stand there and strike out looking? I'm not going to go back and look at the amount of times the last few years teams have come back from 7-run deficits but the amount of times it's happened is more than 0. This is absolutely bonkers. The fact that this is even being talked about is beyond stupid.it keeps getting said that baseball players have the thinnest skin of all professional athletes and they just keep getting worse. Pathetic.
  4. I remember when they lost the first game in the Boston series and there were people that pretty much wrote them off. This was a bad loss and they really need to get their crap together. But don't go writing them off. Let's see how they respond
  5. while a lot of people bring up losing Brantley in the CC trade, he wasn't even the centerpiece of that trade and wasn't a highly valued prospect at the time. That is just the cost of doing business. Sometimes you win sometimes you lose. As it stands right now we got a potential future Hall of famer and an already one times MVP for four guys who look like negative value WAR players. trading, just like everything in baseball that has to do with player acquisition, is an inexact science. You win, you lose, sometimes both parties are happy. Through the lens of time the CC trade looks all right to me. We went to the playoffs, that season was fun. a lot of people think that revitalized the franchise. I don't know about that. There's no way to put a value on that. I don't know if that's true or not. But the memories are fun to look back on.
  6. Oh man, the Hu are really great. Been listening to them for a while since they've become popular over here. Was going to go see them at the rave before this pandemic put live concerts on the back burner. I really hope they come back around when shows are safe to go to again.
  7. I think the wine breaks are the issue Yeah I'd rather it was a wine break rather than a line break
  8. Also I apologize for the lack of punctuation and caps and weird line breaks. this new phone just capitalizes and uses punctuation kind of when it pleases. I'm not sure I'm in charge anymore.
  9. according to the ESPN story, most of the players were pretty pissed that clevenger got on the plane without telling people he had been out. I mean, that is a pretty crappy thing to do right now. He's not just putting people's jobs at stake he's putting people's health at risk to go out and have a night. What kills me is pleasac saying he has a mom who's a nurse and a brother who's diabetic so he knows how serious it is. no dude, if you know how serious it is you wouldn't go out, go to a bar, and then try to sneak back into the team hotel. That's why your teammates are pissed at you and don't want you on the team anymore despite your obvious talent.
  10. Apparently multiple players on The Indians are prepared to opt out of the season if clevenger and plesac are not demoted.
  11. The defending world champ Nationals were in last place, going into today. Just for a point of reference.
  12. If someone thinks Narvaez "stinks" based on 35 at bats, and ignores that he's never had an OBP below .350 in four previous seasons, then that's just a knee jerk reaction. These guys got yanked out of spring training, got a couple weeks of glorified batting practice off of their own pitchers, and are now playing a weird season that probably shouldn't even count. We can argue all day that this roster construction was wacky to begin with, but guys are going to struggle, under the circumstances.
  13. ...who's still only 24 years old. At the very least, the Packers are still paying for his prime years. I'm not upset. Just saying. That's a lotta dollars. Hope it works out.
  14. I like Kenny Clark but man that's a lot of cheddar for an interior lineman
  15. He's one of the most well-liked and well-respected guys in the league. One tap on the forehead that the guy flopped on doesn't suddenly turn Gianni's into Ben Wallace or Ron Arrest. he definitely shouldn't have done it but like others have said he constantly gets hacked and kicked and punched, and I get it even if it's something he knows he shouldn't have done.
  16. The new Static-x album is pretty amazing. I pre-ordered it and got my name in the liner notes. And yeah, it is a really good album
  17. I'm not even sure what "this team was built for a 162 game season" means. Every team was. 60 games or 162 or 300 or 20, your team is built to win games. I don't buy the "they haven't gelled yet" or "they need time to come together" stuff. Every team most seasons is a somewhat new team. A 60 game season is going to be a crap shoot.
  18. I feel like if they pop a few more positives the league may realistically just have to say sorry cards, you're out.
  19. Nice to see a guy not whine and try to help the situation. A wise-guy (or was it wise man?) once told me, if you're going to point out a problem, you should also offer a solution.
  20. Not sure how I'd feel as a player being asked to play two seasons so close together. (spring 2021, fall 2021) https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/29653308/purdue-jeff-brohm-creates-plan-spring-football Jeff Brohm's plan isn't a terrible one. He drastically cuts the amount of practices and padded practices and reduces the number of games played in each season. It's not a "great" plan, and I don't think any plan that has them playing 2 seasons in one calendar year is a great one, but it's a discussion starter.
  21. I absolutely love that Baltimore Detroit and Miami currently in the playoff field.
  22. And he still got off light. He should be gone the rest of the season as far as I'm concerned. Apparently he was shouting some fairly derogatory stuff about the guy's mother. With no fans in the stands and Mike's able to pick stuff up that should be fairly obvious. We all know there's some pretty crappy stuff that gets said between these guys and the players but right now, when they're supposed to be absolutely no contact, I feel like these guys should just kind of keep it light and keep their mouth shut. Especially the freaking Astros who know they have targets on them.
  23. Astros hitting coach Alex Cintron suspended twenty (20) games for instigating the brawl with the A's the other night. Ooof. That's 1/3rd the season. Good.
  24. WHoever listens to metal, Avatar dropped a new album on youtube this week, Gojira dropped an AMAZING, JAWDROPPING video (Another World) and Mastadon released new music. To hell with 2020, but this was a good couple weeks for metal.
