I'm going to say something possibly sacrilegious here. But as a lifelong Star wars fan someone who grew up in the eighties and lived, ate and breathed Star wars as a child, I might, and I stress might say that season two of the mandalorian will rank right up there with empire when the dust clears. Season 1 had a few clunky missteps. The prison break episode just didn't hit in any way for me, the rest of it was pretty great. The pacing was really good, the story moved along briskly. I'm really honestly surprised that we are seeing storyline threads being not just picked up but resolved in a couple of seasons. Shows don't really do that anymore. And it's refreshing. Not that the show has come to a finale or conclusion, but major threads are being resolved, and it's nice to see a storyline not drag on and on and on. each episode has its own little story, while still being part of the overarching saga that's being told within the story of the mandalorian. really excited to see where else Dave filoni and John favreau can take this, and Star wars as a storytelling medium overall.
