  1. Vizquel was 2.5 WAR per 162 games. Basically 1/2 a win above an average player. He was really good defensively, make no mistake.... but he was a bad hitter in one of the most offensive eras in baseball history. Hard pass for me.
  2. Adding onto my point. Brewers versus Packers.... I think, and I stress that I think, I don't know this, I'm not speaking for everybody, but a Brewers championship seems like a pipe dream, something beyond our grasp. If it were to happen, it would be awesome but it's not something any of us realistically expects. Seasons like 2011 or 2018 are amazing and fun and memorable. I can still watch the final play of the 2011 LDS where Morgan drove in Gomez and uecker's call of that play, and it's awesome. On one hand it sucks that that's what we have to hang our hats on, but it's something. But the Packers have won two Super Bowls in the last 24 years. And they have had to otherworldly talents at quarterback. We've seen and felt elation. And speaking only for myself I don't feel entitled to another Superbowl Victory. But it's definitely frustrating and disappointing when you see a team with a talent like this spend years putting mediocre Talent all over the field around him. It's one thing if they put together a good team and just fell short like in 2014.... but most years they just haven't been good enough. Not by a long ways. And that's a shame. I I have nothing against Ted Thompson the person and I feel nothing but empathy for the things that he is going through in his private life but I can definitely blame the leadership above him for hanging onto the guy way too long. We all know that there's no room for sentimentality in this business.
  3. Oh for sure. Rodgers is definitely not the guy he used to be. Part of the problem is absolutely that they have surrounded him with just a bunch of guys and expected him to make them all pro wide receivers. That might have worked seven or eight years ago, but it sure isn't going to work now.
  4. It's not entitled, it's disappointing. Watching a GM try to outsmart himself by trading down and signing udfas while he has a top 5 all-time GM is disappointing. I'm tired of people saying Packer fans are entitled. We're not entitled. It's disappointing watching a top 5 all-time QB lose out on chance after chance because the GM he had was too stubborn to evaluate all the opportunities he had to make the team better while he had a top 5 QB in his prime.
  5. I think it's a little more difficult for people to temper their expectations of the Packers versus the Brewers , when the Packers have a quarterback who is very likely one of the all-time best quarterbacks ever, and mismanagement and roster blunders Galore have wasted many or most of his prime years.
  6. Maybe in another year when the NFC wasn't absolutely stacked, you get away with being this flawed of an 8-3 team. There are legitimately 5 teams that could win 12 games. The Rams could go 11-5 and miss the playoffs.
  7. Terrible, uninspired crap sandwich of a game. That can't be argued. but it's not the end of their season, either. Well, the problem is they played a terrible uninspired crap sandwich of a game against the Chargers as well. I'm generally benign, leaning towards optimism, but this offense is really bad right now. Aaron Jones is out there giving it all he's got, but he isn't enough on his own. The WR corps is a gimpy Adams and a bunch of young guys who just aren't very good at all. Then you have 53 year old Jimmy Graham who looks like he needs Life Alert, and this offense is just plain bad. I don't see an answer for that right now.
  8. On 40 dropbacks, the Packers have 78 passing yards. That's less than 2 yards per passing play. That's not bad or really bad or awful, that's ..... something else entirely. I generally say "it's just one game" or silly crap like that but to put up a performance like that after having a bye and man.... you're supposed to be ready to play. I know this isn't the Chargers but come on...
  9. This drive is going in the right direction for the defense.
  10. I was a fan of GA at one point but hes a guy that could be clearly upgraded upon in the receiving corps
  11. 2 minutes in and we have the first game over post. Is that a record?
  12. The in-season tournament is an interesting idea. I don't want to say it's meaningless, but I honestly don't know how much people will care about it. I'd like to see it get approved and see how much interest it gets. I think the post-season play in idea is terrible. Adding a 9th and 10th team to the playoff format in the NBA is just a terrible idea. There's really only 2 or 3 teams in most seasons from each conference that have a legitimate chance of advancing, so adding 2 more teams to the mix just doesn't make sense at all. The NBA isn't like MLB where the goal is to just make the playoffs and get hot and any team can win it all. You have to go back 10 years to find an NBA title that wasn't won by either a 1 or 2 seed (and that was a 3 seed Dallas Mavericks). Giving a 33 - 34 win team a chance to get massacred by a 1 seed has no entertainment value at all.
  13. Ferguson should get flagged for that. Holy cow.
  14. Almost the longest in ncaa history...
  15. Wow. Just.... Wow.
  16. How does nobody defend that?
  17. Cephus with a great block to spring the long run.
  18. Nice playcalling on that drive. Like the option wildcat.
  19. The Bucks are +9.3 and the #1 seed in the east. I think people expect blowouts in every game against any team thats not the Lakers, sixers, or Celtics.
  20. Possibly towards left center. For a fraction of a second. Maybe towards right center. Not really sure.
  21. I like em. I don't buy jerseys, so as I've previously stated, unless they're absolutely hideous, it matters very little to me. I like the cream as opposed to white.
  22. Beloit's stadium is an absolute dump-ola. They've been talking for years about moving the Snappers to a different park or up here to Janesville or something (literally anything) and I too am surprised that they weren't one of the cities that are being considered for elimination. Even though Janesville and Rockford should, in theory, provide an attendance boost for the Snappers, Beloit averages about 1200 a game.
  23. I moved your post to this thread but bf timed out and gave me a server error and I couldn't get on for like 15 minutes.
  24. Agreed. My use of the term "fossil" is a little deeper than just saying he's old. He's also about as "old school" as you are going to get as a coach. A Buddy Ryan type. Very fair.
  25. This post is basically saying "61 year old guys dont know how to talk to people." I think that this is a vic fangio problem. Not an old guy problem. He's never been known as a great communicator. It was a choice that was sort of doomed to fail from the beginning. That doesnt mean all 61 year olds are bad communicators... That means vic fangio is.
