  1. Brutal choke by the Bucks. Gotta stop playing down to the inferior teams. Playing really poorly against the Suns, Bulls, and Knicks, and these are teams that they should really just be handling.
  2. I mean, he said it and it's done and it's over with. If we reached a point where professional athletes are going to get their feelings hurt because they are being held accountable to do the job they're being paid to do, I think that's actually honestly kind of sad. He didn't throw Schoop under the bus. He just said the trade didn't work out in the way that they had hoped it would. There's a lot of hand-wringing about a comment where a general manager candidly points out that a guy didn't play well, when in fact, that guy really didn't play well.
  3. Dietrich's below average d isnt a big concern to me. The brewers really max out their defensive ability with positioning, so that isnt a big worry. A .750 -.775 ops 2nd baseman who can slide Shaw back over to 3rd and give Huira time to season sounds fine.
  4. This is a question that always plagues me as well. There are many other teams that are run-oriented offenses that still manage to have quality quarterback play, but the Badgers just are stuck with guys that are mediocre at best. I keep hearing about Graham Mertz but we'll see when he gets here.
  5. Nitpicky -- Bench didn't play well at all tonight. Snell, Connaughton, and Dellavadova were all -14 or worse in limited minutes. 2nd unit has to at least try to hold serve while they're in the game. The good -- Man, Giannis is playing at a stratospheric level right now. He's MVP this year if he keeps playing like this. For years we've been lead to believe "if you have one superstar and a good team around him, you can win a title". Well, we're at that point. Bledsoe, Middleton, Lopez, Brogdon is a really nice starting 4 to support Giannis. Obviously wish Henson hadn't gotten hurt, but he'll be back hopefully before the end of the season.
  6. What an embarrassing loss. I know Bud likes to let guys just keep shooting, even when they're cold, but at some point during an 0-12 night, someone has to tell a guy to stop chucking it up there. Just has to. Snell and Lopez went a combined 0-16 from 3, and that really just can't happen.
  7. Brooks Robinson was a career .723 OPS hitter with a 104 OPS+. Take nothing away from his defense, and he was an alright hitter, but he was an average hitter, even considering the offensively depressed era he played in.
  8. I came into this season thinking it was a "prove it" season for Gard after last year's abysmal performance. I know it's early, but they've beat Xavier, Stanford, and Oklahoma, (and really clowned Oklahoma) so far, and looked pretty darn good doing it. They've still got VA, NC State, and Marquette as some tough non conference tests before Big10 play begins, but I haven't seen anything out of this team so far to suggest they're not a tourney team, and not at least a 5-6-7 seed or so.
  9. If Beltre isn't a first ballot HOF, and over 80% at that, something is seriously wrong (like there isn't already) with the vote casting. I know it goes without saying for a lot of people, but this dude has seriously long been one of my absolute favorite non-Brewer players, and easily one of the top 4-5 3rd basemen ever.
  10. Every week, and I mean every single week, my Facebook feed is littered with half of my football friends claiming that fixes are in that the NFL is pushing one team forward while holding others back, and this is prevalent with fans of every team. Yet nobody has ever been able to definitively State why certain teams would be favored or pushed While others are not. Fans of the Packers claim they are being held back by the NFL, and yet I can see viking fans claim the same thing about their team even during a Packers Vikings game. It's just the nature of fandom to want to believe that your team lost for a reason other than they weren't better than the other team. What I really don't understand is why so many people watch sports if they believe the outcome is this heavily predetermined.
  11. Call me crazy but I like these yellow/red unis. :p Watching Snell pass up wide open three opportunities is really just super frustrating. I think I've seen 2 or 3 in just this game where he's got 5 or 6 feet of wide open space with the ball in hand, and he passes up the shot to pass away. I've bagged and bagged on the guy, but I'd love to see them trade him and Dele away for a bucket of Dippin' Dots.
  12. I feel like (after watching the Xavier game) and this game the scoring is a bit less of an issue than it was last year. Spreading the ball around a lot more and relying a lot less on Happ to just bully people inside. Yeah, I know it was Houston Baptist, but seeing them score 96 while no one scored more than 17 points was really nice.
  13. Bucks were 17 of 34 from three land tonight. You're going to be really hard to beat when you're shooting from downtown at 50%. Lopez was 8 of 13. Bucks are really mixing it up with some tough competition on this road trip and really looking good.
  14. Well to be fair saying Coan is really bad isn't really a glowing endorsement of Hornibrook. I also know that's not what you're actually saying, but hornibrook has been really bad outside of the Miami game. A lot of people, myself included thought that game would be a jumping off point going into this year, and it just wasn't. But that also speaks to the larger issue of thinking that one game is a precursor to something bigger and not having any real quality quarterbacks on the roster.
  15. I know we've said it all year (and most seasons for the last 25 years, really) but cryst has to recruit a qb. The quarterback play is just flat-out awful. How many seasons can you go into knowing that it one other aspect of your team, the defense, or the running game, or the special-teams falters just a little bit, then your really bad quarterback play is going to really let you down in a spectacular way. There's many other schools that focus on the Run game that still have more than competent throwing quarterbacks year after year. I don't think too many fans are saying that the Badgers should fundamentally change who they are on offense, but this is just painful to watch.
  16. Yeah they've played the Sixers, the Raptors, the Warriors, the Celtics, they played a lot of good teams already. Bud has done an excellent job of rotational minute sharing, and really just, I don't know, spreads the minutes out much better than kidd ever did. It helps that he's got a bit more Talent than they had last year of course. Snell not playing 30 minutes a game doesn't feel like a huge liability out there, Divincenzo is already contributing quite a bit, Lopez and Ersan, a couple of bigs that can shoot and help space the floor properly, we're really seeing how huge that is in the context of the way bud wants them to play. This team can go far
  17. That was never really a game. Granted, the warriors were without green, and then without curry in the 4th quarter, but even so the Bucs just really had their way all night long.
  18. My Facebook feed Sunday night was nothing but conspiracy theory and fix posts. The same as it is every Sunday when the Packers are losing. It's old and tiresome. They're poorly officiated games, there is no fixed. There is no conspiracy. Why would the league fix a game to make sure the Lions win over the Packers? When you go to Bears message boards you see the same thing, when you go to Vikings message boards you see the same thing, when you go to dolphins message boards you see the same thing. Every single teams fans think that there is a fix or conspiracy theory every time they lose. This is a byproduct of 4K TV with multiple replay angles and everything being shown 50 times in super slo-mo. Everyone is a replay expert and knows exactly what a hold is or What A Catch is. There is no conspiracy theory to cause one team or multiple teams to lose games, officiating an NFL game in real time at full speed is difficult and it probably sucks.
  19. 8 guys in double figures. 56 attempted threes. Talk about chucking it up there.
  20. I'm totally fine rolling with Manny playing 90-95 games and Notthingham playing the rest this year. Manny's offensive regression was almost entirely due to 15 fewer base hits, which is basically statistical noise. His power numbers and walk numbers were more or less (exactly) the same. If they spend some money and get a Grandal or make a trade and get Realmuto, that's fine, but Manny is a fairly decent known quantity, with solid defense.
  21. Lucroy was butt last year, and he's going to be 33, and he's a catcher. Hard pass for all the reasons. I would guess without hesitation that Nottingham will outperform Lucroy this year.
  22. Hornibrook is flat out awful.
  23. Another blowout win. The Bucs scored 124 points with nobody scoring more than 19 points. Divincenzo is contributing quite a bit right off the bat which is nice as well.
  24. More importantly, who's the Don Mattingly of the team?
