  1. there are over 1500 reported injuries per year from foul balls at MLB games. How many are serious? Not sure. But that's a lot, and they could be prevented.
  2. I sit behind the net 95% of the time at T-Rats games and it isn't even a thought in my mind. Sitting behind the net is smart, sitting behind the nets with kids is a MUST! I honestly feel like the people that say the net is distracting or obstructs their view just really want something to complain about. The first time I sat behind the net I thought "oh wow, that's really right in your face", and by the time the game started, I really had forgotten it, and stopped noticing it.
  3. I sit behind home plate at snappers games and within 5 minutes forget the net is there.
  4. Foot popped up, he's pretty clearly out there. That was an easy call.
  5. Can we go one game thread without posts like this? lol give me a break. If you want to argue points, go right ahead. If you're going to tell posters their posts are embarrassing, or they're embarrassing themselves, or to relax, posts are going to just start getting deleted, and if we have to keep stepping into game threads for this nonsense, posters will get removed. So.... stop.
  6. Baez gives me the willies the way A-Ram used to when he was with the Cubs.
  7. A lot of people feel like this "should have been a win". The 7th inning was a missed opportunity with Santana and Braun coming up. They should have (I say could have) scored more runs. Santana strikes out a lot. That's the way baseball is played today. Lots of K's. There are a good handful of guys who are going to strike out 150+ times this year. This is the new nature of baseball. I think the K rate is over 20%. The Pirates had an awesome opportunity the fifth inning to put the Brewers away with men on base and one out, and we say "What an awesome job by Jeffress to wiggle off the hook!!!" Had the Brewers won, couldn't Pirate fans say "we should have scored more runs that inning! We should have won this game!" This is baseball. Sometimes you don't score runs. The Pirates pitcher did his job. He got a strikeout, and then he retired Braun. Kudos to him. It happens. It sucks, but things like that are absolutely going to happen over 162 games. I just feel like saying "should have" is false. The Brewers absolutely could have scored a few more runs in that inning, and it absolutely sucks leaving runners on base, but I think we (and I'm guilty of this at times myself) just a lot of times fail to look at the competition aspect. There's 9 dudes on the other side of the field trying to actively stop you from achieving the thing you're trying to achieve.
  8. Colorado just got swept by the Giants in a 2 game set, after losing a game to the Padres. Sometimes good teams lose to bad teams. Actually happens quite a lot in baseball.
  9. Not this year. He's been really poor in clutch situations this season. I'd still want Braun up. Single year "late/close" and clutch stats are such small samples that they're not a reliable measure of any kind of ability. They tell you what has happened, but they're not a predictor of any sort.
  10. Well, they were 3 games behind the Rockies 6 days ago, now they're 1 game behind, so they have been gaining ground this last week.
  11. Just goes to show how weird baseball is. A team can be red hot and then get stomped by a scrub team. Thats just how baseball is.
  12. Yeah some people wanted to overlook his great numbers and the amount of games he held as a setup man, and just say "look he's 5/10 in save chances this year!" The rest of us looked at his great numbers and thought this guy would make an excellent closer. Really, he's been far better than any of us could have imagined and may be having the best season a Brewer closer has ever had. I think that was like, one poster.
  13. Well... They played for one run that inning and thats exactly what they got, so... Mission accomplished?
  14. Dude now has 17 career homeruns, and 6 are against the Brewers. More than a third of his career homeruns are against us.
  15. I mean......technically true, but Braun has missed like 50+ games this year. Arcia has 150 more PA's than Braun.
  16. Man, nice to get an easy inning from Jeffress. I don't know what it is, but that dude must just have a comfort level pitching for the Brewers that he can't get pitching anywhere else.
  17. Brewers still have a (small) shot at the division, and a fighting chance at the WC. Rockies only path to the playoffs is via wc.
