  1. "I wanna see how he reacts" "That was interesting" "I think you can go get him now"
  2. If 'everyone in the league" wants either Wiggins or Parker, aren't the Bucks best suited to just standing pat and taking whichever one of the two is there at 2? THere's a reason those 2 guys are consensus 1 - 2. See if you can get back into the first round (or even the lottery picks) by trading guys, but stay at 2 and get that franchise guy in either Wiggins or Parker.
  3. I don't care. Doug Melvin can always find a right handed 2B who can take on the lefties in a platoon situation. Platoons (properly used) are not a bad thing. I just wish it wasn't someone as abysmally bad at defense as Rickie Weeks.
  4. And end up with "arm weakness" after? I have to believe if they haven't tried this by now, they're not going to, unless he *actually* gets injured.
  5. Wow, the B squad just taking Strasburg to the woodshed. Once again, I'm sure my perception is not the same as reality, but it just seems like the last year or so, every time RRR puts out these putrid "sunday lineups", he strikes gold more often than not and we strike it rich with 5 or 6 runs.
  6. Let's be fair. Neither were highly touted coming out of the amateur ranks. They both performed well in the minors, but showed enough warts to warrant that there were reasons they weren't highly touted. Davis is a corner outfielder with a terrible arm, and really only one plus tool (his power), and Scooter is a decent defender who's OBP is very highly batting average driven. I like that both guys are successful, and contributing to our ML success. But hinting that they are proof that system isn't (or wasn't) devoid of talent is false equivalency.
  7. I have been voting for Gomez, Lucoy, Gennett, and Rami. Voting for Weeks is dumb.
  8. Actually, they can't, because neither one is matching that .740 OPS for the season over the bad stretch that you picked out for Dunn. Every player goes through bad stretches so when you cherry pick time frames, it's pretty easy to make a player look good/bad. He'll probably get hot again and wind up close to his career OPS. We can probably get by with Reynolds and Overbay for the season but I don't know why anyone needs to downplay Dunn so much. Is he worth $15M this season, no. Is he still a good player that can reach base well and hit for power, yes. I downplay him because his defense is awful, and is a negative value, and needs to be considered, as well as the money he would cost. When you consider defense, he's barely an upgrade over Reynolds at a significant cost increase.
  9. I would say 'alleged' by Jack Clark, not 'verified'. Not that I don't think Pujols isn't juicing.....
  10. I remember a few years back when Axford had 7 saves of 4 or more outs, and it hearkened back to the days of guys like Gossage and such. I wish there were more guys that could do that, and more managers that were willing to do it.
  11. Giannis has already said he would prefer the Bucks not draft his brother, as they play the same position, and wouldn't get on the floor together. Sorry, no linky, I just remember reading it.
  12. I didn't take it so much that Parker 'wants to be in Milwaukee'.....just that he'd prefer to be close to home in Chicago, and playing in Milwaukee will allow him to do that. And like WTP, I want either Wiggins or Parker. I'm sure Exum is very exciting, blah blah blah. Wiggins or Parker plz.
  13. Right. Because you KNEW two top shelf starters for the Cardinals would be going on the DL in June at that time, right? The race is still not over, not by a long shot. 5 1/2 games to make up with more than half a season to go is nothing still.
  14. I think that's true for a lot of people. Mostly it seems there's a lot of ire directed at Braun lately in the IGT's. Heck, in today's IGT, after two batters tee'd off on him, I said "I see K-Rod is in to throw batting practice today". THat's what the IGT is for, IMO. I think K-Rod is fantastic, but when he's bad on a given day, I'll make a comment about it on that day.
  15. I want whatever kind of homestand is required to maintain this lead on the Cardinals.
  16. What? He was amazing the last half of 2011......he was very mediocre in 2012.....he was absolutely lights out while we had him in 2013.....virtually unhittable, and he's 25 of 27 in save chances this year, while having a WHIP under 1. 3 of the 4 years that he's been a Brewer he's been either very good to exceptional.
  17. This! The hand-wringing over his health is getting a little nauseating. Agreed. Due to the steroid thing, everything Braun does now is going to be over-analyzed to scrutinous degrees.
  18. Just can't understand what Dickerson was thinking. When the currency is outs, you simply don't gamble with them in the 9th inning, especially when the run you represent doesn't matter.
