It seems silly that at this level you should have to....but obviously it appears that it's still a necessity.

Gennett is a decent hitter, but he has only one approach at the plate. He has no situational hitting ability whatsoever.

In the last Pittsburgh game 2 of his outs were absolute rockets, and he had a line drive out tonight. Some of his outs have been of the 'bad luck' variety. I'm sure a day off wouldn't hurt though.

Pretty much this. You can't walk the bases loaded and then not expect bad things to happen. Estrada's homeruns allowed weren't a big issue until the last few, because suddenly he's walking guys. Of the first 17 homers he allowed this year, 13 were solo shots, and 4 had one runner on. The last 3 were a 2 run homer, a 3 run homer, and a granny. You can't walk guys AND be a flyball pitcher.

Gomez could get 180-200 million in FA, if he were a hypothetical FA this year. He's proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that last year was not at all a fluke, and that he is one of the game's elite CF'ers. -

If you go around the league this year, most of the bench hitters are absolutely putrid. I don't think anyone on the Braves bench (at least when I looked recently) had an OPS over .600. This is NOT to say that the Brewers shouldn't look for upgrades if they are available, but in a lot of cases, they aren't. -

Nobody *wants* to have a bad bench, but there's just not a lot of good bats to go around that are available. If they're good hitters, they're probably starting somewhere. -

Um....wow. I'd be surprised if the suspension is anything less than 5 games. That Abad got thrown out of the game is a joke. Throwing him out after he throws at him twice? Fine. Throwing him out after a pitch in the strike zone? What the heck? -
