  1. Which really hurts the student experience of making relatively short road trips to away games during the season to watch your team.Yeah, Badgers fans travel well, but I don't think you'd see a lot of them in the stands in say, Rutgers or Maryland.
  2. If that includes the postseason, count me in!
  3. One thing is for sure..........geography means nothing in this bold new world of the Super Conference. A team from Texas is in the Big East......Colorado is in the PAC-whatever, and I don't think it's too long before we see a school within 10 miles of the eastern seaboard in the Midwest based Big-10 (ish)
  4. The Reds are out of the race, it's the 7th, Volquez is at 113 pitches, clearly tiring, and Dusty's leaving him out to hang. Predictable, it nothing else
  5. He's still the worst player ever, but that was a big hit that we needed! Way to go Yuni! (You don't knwo how hard that was for me)
  6. If Yuni can come through here, I'll take back a few of the bad things I've ever said about him.
  7. Yo ties a major league record with 4 strikeouts in one inning. He's fooling batters BADLY with his curve tonight.
  8. If we get to a point where we need Yuni to win or lose a game in a crucial spot, that's an utter and complete failure by both Melvin and Roenicke to ever allow it to come to that. True. I worded that incorrectly. Meant to say we are going to hope for him to do something not need. I feel like some here hope he stinks. I understand that to the extent that maybe they bench him but it doesnt seem likely. Hairston would be nice be nice but he is 1 for his last 24.Before the trade deadline, I did hope that. I hoped he sucked SO bad that Melvin would have absolutely no choice but to replace him somehow. Unfortunately, Yuni got hot right before the deadline, and then as soon as the deadline was past, he cooled right back off again. Now, because there's no chance that he'll be replaced, and Roenicke's made that abundantly clear by his actions, if not his words, I can no longer root for Yuni to fail, but I can't actively root for him either. I just hope he doesn't ever come up in a crucial spot, or make an error, or fail to get a 5 hopper ground ball up the middle that any other ML shortstop gets to.
  9. I can't. Unfortunately, his sucktitude is so great that even when he does something good (hit a HR) I can't do anything but give a sarcastic cheer. Yuni is the only guy, I mean the ONLY guy in Brewers history that I've found that I simply can't root for. I get it, it just seems like he is going to have to do something good for us to win down the stretch and once the playoffs startIf we get to a point where we need Yuni to win or lose a game in a crucial spot, that's an utter and complete failure by both Melvin and Roenicke to ever allow it to come to that.
  10. Yeah, Utley and Howard up with bases loaded, and they got nothing more out of it. That might come back to hurt.
  11. I can't. Unfortunately, his sucktitude is so great that even when he does something good (hit a HR) I can't do anything but give a sarcastic cheer. Yuni is the only guy, I mean the ONLY guy in Brewers history that I've found that I simply can't root for.
  12. If McGehee ever comes up with men in force position, he should just be PH for. As tough as it is to fathom why Betencourt is playing every day, it's even harder to figure out how McGehee is not only playing still, but hitting 5th.
  13. Good lord, that guy brings absolutely NOTHING positive to the field. NOTHING.
  14. I'd have to say there's a very real possibility that within 5 years, we're looking at only 4 BCS conferences instead of 6. If Texas and Oklahoma bolt the Big12, that conference is almost certainly doomed. The Big East is a fantastic conference for basketball, but their football offering is more or less terrible. They added TCU, but now Syracuse and Pitt are looking to leave.
  15. I realize that 4 of the 5 homers tonight were solo shots, and I also realize that the power surge has to at least be partly contributed to that tiny little ballpark, but I don't care, it was AWESOME seeing the bats wake up from their primordial slumber and sock 5 big flys tonight.
  16. I see the Brewers playing about 5- 7 over the last dozen, and I'm hopeful that SHOULD be enough to hold off the Cards. Like others, I'm just not getting any enjoyment out of watching them right now. Phillies will coast in at 7 - 5, and I think the D'Backs will stay hot through the rest of the regular season, and win 8 or 9.
  17. That's my biggest concern right now, what repercussions would an EPIC collapse have on ticket sales? I am already getting tired of hearing my very casual baseball fan friends saying garbage like "yup, same old Brewers".
  18. 9 days ago the Brewers had a 10.5 game lead. In 9 days, they've trimmed it to 5 1/2. At that pace, the Brewers would drop behind the Cardinals with 2 - 3 games left. It's not at all out of the realm of possibility that they could lay a great big fat egg here in September again. In their last 8 games, the Crew has scored 16 runs. Exactly 2 runs per game. No margin of error for the starting pitching. Someone needs to start hitting posty hasty. 4 - 8 over the last 12 games gives the Cards a chance to tie by going 10 - 3. The way both teams are playing right now, again, it's not LIKELY, but it's certainly possible. The Brewers are going into 2 parks where they're a composite 2 - 8 this season, and they went 4 - 11 in those 2 parks last year. So in their last 25 games in Cincy and Wrigley, they're a stellar 6 - 19. The Brewers better hope that Philly shows up against the Cardinals better than they did against the Lastros.
  19. That's what I thought, but it actually wasn't even close.
  20. Boy that ball rattled around in teh corner a while. Nice start for the offense tonight.
  21. No Tulo and no Helton. Please Brewers, win this game against the Rockies minus 2 of their 3 best hitters.
