  1. SMALL SAMPLE ALERT: Dave Krynzel rules!
  2. I suppose with guys like Ginter, Pods, and Overbay, "young" might be a relative term, relating to the amount of time they've actually been in the majors. (Not covering for Tony Sr here, just an observation)
  3. If proof was ever needed that Stolen Bases are overrated, this game is it. 11 hits, 4 errors, 5 walks AND 5 steals = 3 runs. Our offense blows. I mean, seriously, how do you get that many runners and only score 3 times?
  4. No, it's not just you, it's been coming and going all night for me
  5. We've been sitting outside (outside fireplaces rule) and listening to the game on a radio, til people started coming in for the night. I'm posting just for the sake of helping the thread get to 3 pages. (Yeah, I'm a post whore, what of it!?!?)
  6. Remember, in late April, Bonds had more home runs at that point in the season than he did swings that didn't connect. It's hard to "pitch" to a guy who has such an insanely accurate eye and swing.
  7. Pedro must be confused. Last at bat, the crowd cheered the balls, now they boo them? I know they want to see history, but c'mon.......
  8. VERY dissapointed in BREWERS fans for BOOING THEIR OWN PITCHER. Absolutely disgusting. Hard enough for a rookie to do his job, especially when his home town fans are BOOING HIM FOR GETTING BATTERS OUT.
  9. This is all, of course, assuming the Brewers even bring Spivey back, which is at least somewhat doubtful, considering his injury history and what he'll cost.
  10. I'm somewhere in between "Strikeouts don't matter at all" and "strikeouts are the bane of all offense" (though I'm closer to strikeouts don't matter) But if a guy like Branyan can hit 40+ homers and produce a .450-.500 SLG%, then I don't care what he does with his outs.
  11. 3001 Mass. I had it on in the car.
  12. I guess it's Neds MO. Wes Helms FINALLY has a nice game, so he goes to the bench again! A-buh? Dave K actually gets the START in right field?
  13. We're up 3-0 in the first inning. Does anyone even care? Or is everyone tuned into a meaningless Packers pre-season game in which they're getting mercilessly b**ch-slapped by the Titans?
  14. Bullpen can't blow complete games. Think Ben told Ned that he wasn't coming out, no matter what?
  15. Dan Kolb only made one mistake, That's one more than closers can usually afford to make though. But I agree about failing to deal him, and I've said so before. There was NO reason to keep him when the POINT of keeping him (and this is straight from Melvin's mouth) was to try to finish .500. Poor decision making will get a team like the Brewers nowhere.
  16. It was a wild pitch, not a steal.
  17. Ok, I know people are going to say "Get of Sutton's Back, he's not that bad!" blah blah blah! "The Brewers are finding ways to win, hopefully they can find a way to win this one tonight." They snapped a TWELVE GAME LOSING STREAK just yesterday Darron. I hardly think that qualifies as finding ways to win. One win in the last 2 weeks. Ughhhhhh.
  18. Holy Schneikies, what was the HANG TIME on that flyball by Branyan?
  19. Ginter heating up right off of the DL. Alas, I digress, Keith Ginter sucks.
  20. http://www.ou.edu/oupd/choke3.jpg The Yankees are the lady in the green.
  21. Our top 3 have been getting on like it's going out of style It's BEEN out of style for the last month and a half! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/roll.gif
  22. Oh my god And on another note, Ueck and Powell both have gotten on Grieve quite a bit lately. And deservedly so. I'm not even going to try to defend Grieve anymore. For quite a long time I tried, and was one of those that said you don't have to be all fiery and temperamental to show that you care, but Grieve really acts like he's been going through the motions for a while now. The kicker for me was when he struck out, (this was a few weeks ago) the ball bounced away from the catcher, and Grieve stood in the batters box, waited for the catcher to run nearly to the backstop, get the ball, and then come back and tag him. I know most of the time you don't make it to first on a WP strike three, but to just stand there and wait for the inevitable is inexcusable. I know most of us say we'd rather have players who are good over those who bust ass to first on grounders to the shortstop, but when you're just standing there waiting to get out? Maybe the lack of playing time is WHY Grieve doesn't seem to give a rip, or put forth any effort, and I can't blame him for that, but still............
  23. Holy crap, 6 lefties in a row to start the lineup. Nedly must be hoping to overwhelm Lidle with numbers.
  24. What was Jenkins thinking there? If you're not sure, you let it drop and keep that run from scoring. Now it's tied. Our defense just continues to suck and suck and suck some more in this 2nd half.
