  1. Burnett just TOTALLY melted down there. He looked like a deer in the headlights. Sweet. I'm enjoying this, and I hope everyone else is too. By the way, everyone in my living room was just standing up during the Overbay at bat, with hands arched overhead. I hope it helped.
  2. Kolb's got something different going on tonight, that's for sure. Wow.
  3. Nice move by Yost, maybe a batter late, but it didn't come back to haunt us. Nice turn by Russel and Billy! Lets win!
  4. Wow that Grieve guy sux. 5 runs, I don't even know what to think about this.
  5. Al, I want to ask a question, and I hope you'll take the time to answer it. Myself, Lend, Madbad, and our Huntsville fans have all WHOLEHEARTEDLY agreed that player development is 100% more important than winning in the minors. Why do you take issue with those people who enjoy minor league games caring if they win or not? Like I said, they've all stated that knowing the overriding point of the games is player development, they still root for the team. You don't think it's important, or in your own words it's "silly" to care if a team wins or not, but why do you insist on finding fault with someone else wanting a win, even AFTER they acknowledge the fact that development is the whole point of the game? Can't it just be "diffrent strokes for diffrent folks" and leave it at that? I hope you don't take this post as insulting, I'd just like to understand what your own thought process is on the subject, considering that everyone you debate this with has conceded the importance of development over winning.
  6. Well, I'm in Janesville on Charter, and I listen to 1230 WCLO, and while there's a slight delay, it's not nearly bad enough to make me not continue doing it.
  7. As our pitching goes, so goes the fate of our team. I hope this 3 game stretch against a good offense (6,6, and 9 runs) is not the start of a downfall, just a rough stretch against a good offense. Davis' ERA is now 3.99.
  8. Where are you at Bill, that you can't get radio, if you don't mind me asking? EDIT: I should say, where the delay is that bad. Are you watching on tv, or online?
  9. For what it's worth, I hope Garner DOESNT figure that out Bill.
  10. I agree Bill. About Hendrickson And about Schroeder. Heck, I haven't had the sound on my tv during a Brewers broadcast in 2 months. I simply can't stand these 2 knuckleheads anymore. Powell and Ueck work just fine for me.
  11. What will this be, the 4th shutout on this roadtrip, or only the third?
  12. I remember a few weeks ago seeing that we had a 7 1/2 game cushion on the Pirates, and thinking that was fairly secure. A loss today by us will bring the Pirates within ONE game of the Crew. A game out of last place, and talking about the playoffs? Like Doug said EARLY in the season. There's a big difference between being 5 games out of the wildcard with 2-3 teams ahead of you, and being 5 games out of the wildcared with 6-7-8 teams ahead of you.
  13. This coming from the guy who says it's "silly" to be concerned about where our affiliates are, and whether or not they even win a game.
  14. I agree Bill. Even Ben looked a little puzzled there. We have people questioning his mental toughness. It would have been nice to see how he responded there, especially after working out of the toughest jam there is the previous inning.
  15. *sigh* Tough loss. We really could use another bat with some pop (Wes Helms, I'm looking at you! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/mad.gif )
  16. Leave it to Vizco to keep it close.
  17. Did Wes ever meet a pitch he didn't like? Or didn't try to pull? I shudder to think that when Spivey gets back, Ginter will go the bench and Helms will continue to suck, er, I mean, play every day.
  18. Ok, NOW it's a different ballgame! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/roll.gif
  19. Lyle is ok, I guess. 5-2 is a "very different ballgame"? according to Sutton and Schroeder. Normally, yeah, I'd agree, but crimony, this is a team that's averaging 2 runs a game for the last few weeks.
  20. Don't tell me we're going to go right back to the coma inducing offense we've come to know and hate. One more Gary Bennet interview and I'm going to puke my guts out. Let alone listen to Gary Bennet talk about hitting. Dude, just shut up.
  21. Well, I don't think Hall would have made it back to that ball Peavey, unless you're talking about him being able to cover 2nd for a throw, but even then, it looked like Everett was going to be safe.
  22. Everett hit a little jam job grounder to right field for a single and it appeared that Grieve was playing AWFULLY deep and Everett legged it out into a double. They position Grieve deep to compensate for his (lack of) speed going back on balls, and it cost us a run right there.
  23. Where the heck is Grieve playing Adam Everett? Deep enough there Grieve? That homer by Lane was sick. Leaning forward, on his front foot. It's hard to blame Hendrickson for that one, because that was a good pitch. Then the hit and run right at the hole that Hall had just vacated. Little bit of bad luck for li'l Ben this inning.
  24. The guy has no range, is making errors by the bucketload, and has an extra base hit about once every 20 at bats. Why? Oh, and great job by Mr. Hendrickson. I thought he was "not ready" mentally? At least that's what some have tried to say.
  25. Ben's looking a lot more confident out there tonight. I see he's starting to mix in the changeup (key!) Locating his fastball a lot better, and same with the curve. Go Ben!
