  1. I think what really answers this question is health and injuries. If Cutch, Wong, and Yelich stay (relatively) healthy, then Counsell will probably go with reasonably strict L/R platoons wherever possible for almost everyone except Wong, Yelich, and Adames. Not saying Cutch won't bat against RH pitchers, and Rowdy won't hit against lefties, but I'd guess barring long DL stays, Rowdy would see 400 - 450 PA's, and Cutch, about the same. Like you said, the wild card is Hiura. If he comes even close to 2019 Hiura, he's gonna play nearly every day, SOMEWHERE. If he's OPS-ing .850 and hitting righties, Counsell will find a way to get him in the lineup. DH, 1B, LF, maybe even (gasp) spell Wong a day or so here and there. I don't honestly see that, but if it happens, it's a nice problem to have.
  2. Yeah, that changed the tenor of the game for sure. But, they came out of Jersey with a win, Giannis dominated again.... Brook keeps getting the minutes he needs to be ready for the playoffs...... Hey! 20 games over .500. The 1-seed is still a target. Ideally we'll avoid these guys in the 1st round, but I'm not overly concerned if they don't.
  3. Sixers lost tonight as well (to the pistons, lol), so that helps.
  4. And the Bucks beat the nets again, on a missed shot by KD.
  5. 9 point comeback in the last 3-ish minutes to force OT was nuts. Also, Giannis is now the all time leading scorer in Bucks history.
  6. That block might have changed the trajectory of the MVP race. It's tight at the top, and it looks like Jokic is still the favorite, but if the Nugs somehow slide down to the 7 spot and the play-in, that could slide Giannis into the top spot. That block was all over basketball twitter last night. When big, amazing plays like that happen late in a season, in a *big* game between two contending teams, it's not crazy to think a few votes might get swayed. Maybe not. Anyways. Giannis is the best player in the league right now. It's nuts how good this guy has gotten.
  7. Yup. We went from wide open to Duke, UNC, Villanova, and Kansas.
  8. Down goes Purdue. Unreal.
  9. Film Fest Friday again.... Nightmare Alley -- I find Guillermo del Toro movies hit or miss. This one really hit the mark for me. Excellent cast, really dark period piece (which I'm into lately, for some reason), and it didn't have a monster with eyes in it's hands. Really enjoyed it, and not being familiar with the original source work, I was able to go into this one fresh, and not really know how the ending was gonna pop.
  10. No Giannis, no Midds, no problem. Up huge early, and coasted to the win. With BroLo and Connaughton back, team is really hitting its stride right in time for the playoffs.
  11. Houston is looking really strong. I didn't fill out a bracket, but they're looking tough. (Watch, they'll lose their next game now)
  12. I think the main Brewers Forum is where people flow to the most, so that makes the most sense.
  13. Good that he's having a nice spring. Good that he's got himself into a positive mindset, but like others have said, regular season is a lot different than ST. The swing looks better, honestly, but we'll see how the results look in regular season when pitchers aren't working on their own things, making adjustments, etc, etc, etc.
  14. There's 30 teams. If all else was *equal*, you have a 1/30 chance of winning a title. Things aren't equal. It's no stretch at all to imagine that a team could pretty easily go 50 -60-70+ years without a title from any given point forward. The Cubs went one heck of a long time, and it's not exactly like they operate like a small market team...... The Red Sox went over 80 years. Like others have said, I'm just happy the Brewers are ran well within the confines of the market we're in and make some playoff appearances. If they get lucky in the randomness of the playoffs and grab a trophy, I'll be even more happy.
  15. I've been alive nearly half a century and the Brewers have been to one world series and lost it. stating factually that they will never win a WS is dramatic, but saying that their chances are slim probably isn't.
  16. That's a lot of money for a guy that (essentially) missed an entire year with a back injury. Good for him though.
  17. You can't shoot 1/18 from 3 and win against anyone at this stage, but like Homer said, losing Hepburn was super critical.
  18. Haha yes. I avoided talking too much about the movie in case there are those who haven't seen it yet. Despite the massive box office haul, I'm sure there are those that didn't see it in theaters.
  19. I think Story to the Sox at that price isn't a bad deal. I don't like Story outside of Coors, but I think he'll probably hit ok at Fenway. That park is usually pretty friendly for RH power hitter types, so he shouldn't see a big dropoff in his numbers after leaving Coors.
  20. Story to the Red Sox https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/33555373/boston-red-sox-trevor-story-agree-six-year-140m-contract-per-reports
  21. Good sunday morning my movie watching friends! Watched the new Spider Man flick this weekend, and boy do I have thoughts. I enjoyed the movie. Tom Holland has been without a doubt, the best Peter Parker. I think they crammed a lot (maybe a little too much) into a 2 1/2 hour movie. I think so far, the MCU and Feige and the writers have done a *pretty good* job of avoiding plot holes and contradictions with 24-25 movies and a bunch of tv shows, but this multi-verse business is going to make things pretty sticky (IMO, of course). We'll see how it goes. I'm looking forward to the new Dr. Strange flick. Watched The Courier after that as a cool down. Cold War era spy flick. And honestly, seems kind of relevant right now.... This was an excellent movie. Kinda flew under the radar (as a lot of movies have during the pandemic) and I really enjoyed it. There's a very intentional pacing and tension that builds pretty quickly and keeps you hanging on. Pretty interesting story too, based on a couple of real dudes who put in some on-the-ground grunt work to try to stop the Cuba missile crisis.
  22. 1 seeds aren't really playing like it so far in this tourney. Be interesting to see how everything plays out. I think there's a lot of teams left that have a legit chance of cutting down the nets. Like HD said above, this is super wide open. Gonzaga is still the favorite, and they should be, but I wouldn't be surprised if someone knocks them off in any given round.
  23. The goal of the lockout wasn't to achieve parity in the sport. Both sides wanted to make sure they were getting as much of the pie as they could, and tinker with the rules. It's not about parity, and probably won't be in this generation, lifetime, or century.
  24. Not too big of a spend to get Soler. 12 mil AAV. He's not gonna win any gold gloves, but he's only entering his age 30 season, so he shouldn't decline *too* much in the next three years.
