  1. There was a game this season where Davis had 20 points on, IIRC, 27 shots. So this by comparison wasn't quite as bad....
  2. They've gotten a few calls.
  3. Everything Colgate had to do to be in this game, they're doing it. Shooting crazy from 3 and outrebounding the Badgers.
  4. Really getting saved in the early going by Colgate shooting almost as bad as we are.
  5. And I'll say again, if someone thinks Adams is "just a guy", they aren't watching what he's doing as an individual, they're just assuming the majority of his stats are provided by Rodgers. James Jones went to Oakland for a season and had his career high in receptions. Jordy Nelson left the Packers and had 10 more catches and 250 more yards than he had the previous season. Cobb went for 55/828 his year in Dallas, then played through injuries (gasp!) in Houston before coming back Greg Jennings..... Jennings got hurt. Missed most of his age 29 season in Green Bay, and then had 2 decent, not great years in Minnesota, clearly decline seasons, and one more year in Miami where he didn't do much at all, and then was out of the league. If the argument is "Adams is about to turn 30 and the Packers shouldn't commit that much money to a guy in his 30 -34 age seasons", I absolutely agree. But these guys haven't left Green Bay and absolutely tanked. They've been productive elsewhere, with decent and mediocre QB's. Usually in what would be considered decline-age seasons for WR's. I've never really bought that Rodgers makes receivers better. The Raiders will throw the ball 600 times next year. Are we going off the assumption that a healthy Adams won't get 140 - 180 targets? Carr is definitely not Aaron ROdgers, but he does have a 65% completion rate for his career, and usually throws for 4000+
  6. I think the WR corps will be better overall if they have (someone like) Landry, Golloday, a couple high round picks, etc, etc, meaning, a well rounded group of guys instead of a superstar like Adams and then a bunch of scrubs, but I think there's a lot of people selling Adams short because he's not a Packer anymore. But I don't think someone like Landry will come in and put up anything like the kind of numbers Adams did either.
  7. It's fascinating on Twitter, facebook, and even here, reading the reactions after they went from disbelief, to acceptance, and then "screw Adams". People justifying it by saying "he's not THAT good" or "he's good because of Rodgers", or some variation on those themes haven't been watching the guy for the last 5-6 years. The dude's line release, body control, the way he uses his body to get balls, separate from defenders, his ability to catch balls in traffic.... he is THAT good. Yeah, it sucks that he doesn't want to play in Green Bay. It sucks he'd rather play in LV, and that he wanted almost 30 mil per, but the bashing of the guy by downplaying his absolutely incredible talent is (IMO of course!) silly. He might be in the top 3 receivers to ever put on the Green and Gold.
  8. Obviously waiting to see what the full return is, but a lot will also depend on what they're able to do via trade and F.A. I'm not sure paying a guy pushing up onto age 30 that kind of money as a WR is super smart, especially with how much money they're already kicking down the line, but it definitely also really puts the pressure on them to rebuild the WR corps from the ground up immediately. Which might not be a bad thing.
  9. I like the double hook rule. Maybe it could use some tweaking but in general, I like the idea. I don't like the other one. That seems dumb.
  10. I've always found that somewhat annoying as well. The crew chief will explain something to the managers, point at bases or a guy, and then someone will go to base, and we the viewers have no idea how or why something was ruled a specific way until after the game. It would be nice in the moment to have an explanation of *why* something is ruled a specific way.
  11. super big win. they're up 2 in the win column on Philly now for the 2 seed.
  12. Nice first half in Utah.
  13. Eduardo Escobar is an actual infielder, and he was kinda bad at 1B last year when we used him there. Putting a guy at 1B who's (presumably) never played there is just a bad idea. We talk about this a lot, but 1B defense may seem unimportant, but it's not. It may have *relatively* less importance than other positions, but then you put a guy over there that's not good at it, and it shows up in the worst ways, at the worst times.
  14. Saying he can play all 3 outfield spots was true, once upon a time. I suppose he technically still *can* be put in CF, but definitely should not be, ever, unless nobody else on the roster capable of doing so is left in the game.
  15. Absolutely nuts to be giving multiple seasons to a hitter over 40. I get it......he's still productive but guys that age fall off a cliff in a heartbeat. Once they can't catch up to heat or recognize a breaking ball, it's over. There's no adjustment or anything else that's gonna save them.
  16. I didn't get a lot of the hate the guy got last year. He's not a dominant guy, but he was solid, and on top of that, he was just very reliable all year long. Happy to have him back at this price tag.
  17. I think everyone is just used to Giannis being this dang amazing at this point.
  18. I absolutely don't care.
  19. Teams will still find creative ways to beat the pitch clock. Not a fan of just outright banning the shift. Not at all. Bigger bases doesn't really move the needle, I think. Maybe help avoid an injury here or there.
  20. I think (taking off my mod hat here for a minute), the important thing to remember is that whatever changes come along, it's not about the software, it's about the community that we have here, and it's about talking Brewers baseball, and of course, other things Wisconsin/Wisconsin sports. The software gave us an opportunity to do that, but the software is just a tool. This forum is super outdated, and while we all might be comfortable with it, it's not without it's share of problems. I'm not allowed to use my work computers for personal use. I have to use my phone to go on Brewerfan during the day. On my phone, I have to scroll side-to-side constantly to see the entirety of a post, and if it's a long post, that's a lot of side to side scrolling. That's super annoying! Probably as annoying as ads. But I deal with it because I love coming here and talking baseball and football and Basketball with *this group of people*. Now, it's not for me to decide (obviously) what each one of you all are willing to put up with as far as change goes. Just saying..... the software isn't why we're here. It's because it's an awesome Brewers/sports community, and let's be honest, change is inevitable in all things. I hope everyone gives this an honest chance. *jumping back down off my soapbox now* Carry on with your day.
  21. Watched "The Green Knight" this afternoon. My goodness what an audio and visual feast. So many people have complained and downvoted this movie for not having enough action and fight scenes, but if you know the story of Sir Gawain and The Green Knight, you'd know going in that it's not really an action/adventure story, but a story of discovery. Within that framework, it's an absolutely mesmerizing film that just crushes the visual aspect, and if you have surround sound, just absolutely crank it. Disappointed I missed this one in the theater, because it feels like it deserves that kind of viewing experience.
  22. I'm sure they have some good reason to - as there's a drive into deep left field by Castellanos and that'll be a home run. And so that'll make it a 4-0 ballgame. I feel bad that no one picked up on this post and I want to make sure it's appreciated.
  23. The middle one (IMO of course) was the weakest. It wasn't bad, but it it just didn't pop the way the first one and the new one did. I loved this movie today. It has a lot less focus on the action and more on building the world and the story, but there's still plenty of set pieces that move along with the story. Ralph Fiennes is simply an amazing actor, and I have never seen a movie he's in that wasn't great.
  24. "Nobody" was great. The end set piece was utterly ridiculous and fantastic. Christopher Lloyd taking part in a violent gun-fight set piece was nothing short of awesome. I know everyone else has said it, but convincingly turning Bob Odenkirk into a bad-ass action guy ..... wow! Movie #1 down on film-fest Friday. Movie #2 is going to be The Kings Man
