  1. This is a really good point. This community has always (tried) to remain focused on arguing the point, and not just taking personal shots at their fellow posters. It's easy to get frustrated with a person who doesn't agree with you, or see your side of things, but at the same time, name calling and one liners isn't going to bring them around to your side of things. I think a lot of people will be happy/excited to see the inclusion of likes/reacts and other sorts of fun widgets, but I'd prefer (my own personal preference, to be sure) that single-click widgets and stuff like that to veer away from negative reactions.
  2. Ah, there's the "After I had time to reflect...." statement we all knew would be coming: https://twitter.com/jeffborzello/status/1495920691883003906/photo/1 In the prepared statement he apologized to Joel Krabbenhoft.....
  3. Rest of the regular season is weak.
  4. Gard did not 'physically detain' Howard. He put his hand on his arm and (from appearances) it looks like he tried to have a conversation with him. If Juwan Howard couldn't step away from Greg Gard, who's probably a foot shorter and 50 pounds lighter, yikes. Howard *Started* the incident by getting in the handshake line and saying, as he got to Gard "We're gonna remember this (stuff)". Gard could have nodded and been like "ok cool, you're mad". He tried (again, it appears) that he tried or wanted to explain his reasoning for taking the timeout, or ask Howard what the problem was. Or just to tell him to chill out. And I'll state again, if someone 50 lb lighter than Howard and a foot shorter than him putting a hand on his elbow is justfication for his behavior in that clip, he's got an issue that needs addressing.
  5. It's just really weird to me the amount of people that think Gard "started" this by touching Howard on the elbow. Like he was defending himself from a man (in a handshake line!!!!) that's a foot shorter than himself who literally put a hand on his arm, and using that as justification for throwing a sally slap. If you're of the mindset that you have to throw hands to assert your self every time someone "puts hands on you", you're probably walking around with a little too much anger.
  6. At that point did Gard know that HOward was upset? I'm not saying he did or didn't. I'm actually asking to ask. If he didn't know at that moment in time that Howard was like "LEGIT MAD!" about a silly timeout, he could have seen Howard giving him the cold shoulder in the handshake line and just being like "hey man what's up?" If Howard is that soft that a guy in a packed building surrounded by security putting his hand on his elbow is cause to throw hands, he's got super deep issues. I get it, don't put your hands on people, and if Gard already knew that there was some provocation, then yeah, keep ya hands to yourself.
  7. I mean... unless someone said something in the line that shouldn't have been said, Howard was 100% outta line here. I know I got the homer goggles on, but like others have said, if you don't want the other guys calling a timeout, stop running full press. Soft babies that can't play to the final whistle. Howard shouldn't coach again this season.
  8. Don't take trulicity if you're allergic to Trulicity. XD
  9. Peacemaker season 1 was absolutely awesome. The finale lived up to all the hype and then some. Gonna be hard to follow up with a season 2 that matches the intensity. At the same time...... man, Book of Robert Fett on Disney+ was nothing short of a let down. There were a few "hey here's some fan service!" moments scattered throughout, but the pacing, the disjointed storytelling, and the action sequences just all were flat and uninspiring. So many elements included into the show that were unnecessary to make it longer. It could have been compressed into about a 4 episode mini, and been much tighter and cleaner.
  10. that's just bananas.
  11. Even if that's the story, the other narrative (in this thread) is that "once you get to the playoffs, you're playing other tough teams", or "it's a crapshoot". On top of that, the Packers had Aaron "king of the regular season" Rodgers in all of those games. At some point, it's ok for the fans to say "wow, they haven't gotten it done in the last decade". We had a pair of 4-seeds in the Super Bowl this year. Packers have had the 1-seed two years in a row and done nothing with it, and had the 1 seed in 2011. Blew a gimme in 2014. Got absolutely annihilated by the Falcons and the 49ers. Yep, the Falcons were the "better" team. The Packers didn't even show up for that game. The 9'ers were the better team in 2019, and the Packers didn't even show up. I'm not saying the Packers can, should have, could have won any of those games, but with Rodgers, and the amount of times they've made it to the NFC title game, and the amount of times they've been in the playoffs, and the amount of times they've had the 1-seed, ...... With the narrative being "anything can happen in the playoffs"........it's *fair* for fans to say "this team isn't performing up to expectations over the last decade in the playoffs. Nothing more (and definitely nothing less) than that.
  12. I think 0-4 in NFC title games since 2014 is part of that "what if" lamentation. getting beat in 2011 by a clearly inferior giants team. this year by a clearly inferior 49ers team. both in the divisional round. sure, it's tougher opposition in the playoffs but 0-4 in the title game leaves almost anyone saying "they can't get it done when it counts"
  13. See.... I'm not a Packers fan the way I'm a Brewers fan. (anymore. Used to be) If the Packers went "all in" and sucked for a few years, I wouldn't care the way I would care for the Brewers. Also, when you have a talent like Rodgers, I think most football fans have to at least acknowledge that the QB impacts a game way more than any individual baseball player can, and the idea of going "all in" around a guy like Rodgers or Brady at least makes more sense in football than it does in baseball. Good for the Rams, they took a shot, and it worked out. Even if it didn't, and they "only" got to the Super Bowl, I'd happily consider that a success. Sure, losing the Super Bowl sucks, but not as much as getting punked at home in the Divisional Round as the 1 seed XD.
  14. They knew what they were buying into when they made their decision to go all in. I'm sure they're good with it. You don't judge decisions by the end result, but they got what they wanted, and I'm sure they, along with the fans are happy as heck. A 3-4 year rebuild is gonna be a lot easier to stomach knowing that the buy-in got them where they wanted.
  15. Cinci outplayed the Rams in a lot of phases, and got utterly hosed on that hold, but their offensive line is so, so, so bad that they just couldn't mount any sustained offense at all. Sucks. They know where they need to get better.
  16. The Rams went all-in, and all they got out of it was a stupid Super Bowl win.
  17. I suppose it could be some chemical concoction instead of plant based? if you're a smoker, are you really worried about where your tar and nicotine comes from though?
  18. nice performance by G against the Lakers. casual 44/14/8 line as they stomped the Lakers on their home court. hopefully they're starting a nice run here
  19. Gunpowder Milkshake. -- There's no real earth shattering story here, but Karen Gillan is awesome, Paul Giammati is great in everything he does, and the action scenes are creative, ultra-violent, and the set pieces are super fantastic. The bowling alley fight scene is outlandish and amazing. The little bit of a plot is just cohesive enough to be worth the brutal action scenes. The Dig -- taking it down a notch.... Didn't expect this one to keep me engrossed. Turned out to really be an interesting picture. There were just a few creative liberties taken to make the story interesting enough for a two hour movie, but putting that aside, they took a story about finding an ancient archeological site in the English country side discovered by an excavator just before WW2 and turned it into a great, compelling drama film. Definitely recommend if you're into that type of thing.
  20. Nice game from Bobby last night, wow. 6-8 from 3. Back up to 3rd in the east, and a game out of the 1-seed. Some team is going to turn on the jets down the stretch and distance themselves from the pack. Like last year, I don't view the 1 seed as hyper-critical. Would be nice, for sure.... but eh.... Just get in on the top half of the bracket.
  21. I wasn't going to bother with Peacemaker, but still being off work I decided to binge it yesterday. I'm really impressed that the show manages to balance tackling some serious and current social issues head-on, with having some almost slapstick and over the top hero/villain archetypes at the same time.
  22. Vegas had Rams -4. I like the Bengals in this one. no particular reason. time for Stafford to Stafford one up.
  23. unless they lose Eh. I'd say getting to the Super Bowl is a success. I'd take an NFC championship T-shirt at this point, TBH.
  24. thank goodness
  25. gonna be a pair of 10-7 teams in the sb. whooo....
