  1. I'm all for Hart bunting right now. Course with the way he's going, he'll try to bunt that low outside pitch that for some reason he can't lay off, and miss the pitch anyway.
  2. No kidding. I was there on Tuesday, and it made for a real late night, since I live in Fort Atkinson. You'd think more people from the actual Milwaukee area would attend games... I am kicking myself that I didn't go to those last two games. I even had two tickets that we didn't use in our 20-game pack that I could have exchanged. Just never got around to it. But I'm going to each of the last three games, so I'm fine with that.
  3. I still don't understand why Weeks and his .446 OBP in September isn't leading off or at least in the 2 spot, but Cameron (.226 - Sept OBP) and Hall (.244 - Sept OBP) are up there. They want two veterans in the 1 and 2 spots. Yeah great. But those two veterans are your two worst hitters in September. I don't get it, but whatever. Anyway... GO CREW!!!
  4. I now have a favorite Cub player.
  5. "What do we do with the outfield next year?" Absolutely nothing. Pick up the option on Cameron, he's been the best defensive Brewer CFer in many years, just don't bat him any higher than 6th. Leave Braun and Hart where they are. But maybe give Hart a few more days off. (I'm speculating that's the reason for his stinking up the place in September. Just not ready to play 150+ games yet.) Also, I've sat in Sec 103 for over 20 games this year, Hart is not ready to play CF. He does not read the ball coming off the bat well enough to be able to cover all that ground in CF for an entire season. Not yet at least.
  6. Not a fan of the Sac Bunt either. Unless it's the bottom of the 9th, you only need one run to win, and you have a runner on second with no outs.
  7. Sveum is not the answer. Cameron is not a leadoff hitter, and he was having the worst September of any of those guys, so let's bat him leadoff. Weeks, I know many don't like the kid, but looks at the stats, he was the only regular who was hitting the ball this month, and he gets benched. So Durham plays every day, and gets hurt because the guy just can't play every day anymore. I'd like to see them go out and get someone who has absolutely no ties to any former Brewers team.
  8. Rib cage injury or not, that still doesn't excuse those kind of numbers. I didn't expect him to keep up those July numbers, but I also didn't expect him to basically turn into TGJ at the plate.
  9. "Gonna knock you right on the head"
  10. I was listening to Homer's show on 540 yesterday. Some guy calls up claiming to be a "Big Brewer Fan", but yesterday's loss was the last straw for him, he's giving up on the Brewers. Later in the call, this "Big Brewer Fan" proudly states he has watched probably 100 games in the past 5 years. Wow, really man, 100 games in 5 years, you say. I guess you are a really big Brewer fan. Ummm, you do know they play 162 games EACH year, right? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eyes.gif (I really don't know what point I'm trying to make with this little story, just wanted to share it, I guess.) Anyway, I'm on board with this thread!! GO CREW!!!
  11. THANK YOU!! I was beginning to think I was the only one who has been looking at those numbers. .303 BA, and a .439 OBP in September for Weeks. He is the only "regular" who is doing anything right now. I'm not saying put him in against all RHP right now, but he better still start over half these remaining 12 games. Here's another fun September stat, I found yesterday... Ray freakin' Durham: 2 HRs Braun, Hart, and Cameron combined: 2 HRs
  12. One could argue the hitters are pressing because they know the bullpen is likely to give up any lead of less than 5 runs on a given night. One could argue the starting pitchers are pressing for the same reason. At the end of the day, everyone can only do their own job. Well, with all due respect, I believe it was the offense (Braun, Fielder, and Hart) who went MIA in the last couple of weeks of August, before the pen started stinking it up.
  13. Yost does think "Hey, Shouse can easily get out one of the premier right handed hitters in the game with men on base!" Well, the other guys out in the pen haven't been able to get it done either, so pick your poison. What does it really matter anyway? When your offense can only get you 3 runs max (and that's on a "good" day) you're not going to win too many games. So I don't blame the pitching entirely. When they know the offense is struggling like they are, and probably aren't going to score many runs, they feel they have to make a perfect pitch every pitch. You get tight, and you make more mistakes. When you have Braun, Fielder, Hart, and Cameron on your team, but Hardy is leading the team in HRs and RBI during any month, that is not good. Hardy is a fine hitter, but on this team, he should be middle of the pack in those categories, not first. IMO, blame for this collapse, falls firmly on those 3-4-5-6 hitters. About the only way they can win right now is with a Sabathia complete game-shutout. EDIT (to no one in particular): Here's another September stat I am fully enjoying watching: Sabathia/Parra: 8 AB, 4 RBI. Braun/Hart: 103 ABs, 4 RBI. Great!!! And people can't blame Weeks (.303/.439/.455) for not getting on base this time.
  14. So this is ALL Yost's fault? What would you have him do when his 3-4-5-6 hitters all disappear for three weeks? The best manager in the world isn't going win when that happens. How would you fix that? "It's the manager's job to help then thru that." How exactly? What can you do when your three best hitters, and your veteran CF, all go into the tank at the same time? Tell them to stop sucking? Yost is probably gone after the year, fine I don't really care. His players, who say they like playing for him, are throwing him under the bus right now.
  15. It is showing up on my DTV guide. How is the way they are playing right now Yost's fault? Kendall playing again. So what. Who cares. Yost, Simmons, and Kendall have over 30 years combined in the majors at the catching position. The bigger problem is that Braun, Fielder, and Hart have practically disappeared in September. You can probably add Cameron in there as well. Show me one team that can win games when their 3-4-5-6 hitters completely go in the tank for over two weeks, in September.
  16. Game 2 is still not showing up on my DTV guide. Course with the way they've been playing, that may be a blessing.
  17. Manny, you're going to be a good one for the crew in the coming years, I have no doubt about that. But... Thanks for showing up today when the team really needed you.
  18. Those with DirecTV... How do you think they will handle the Sunday games? My guide only shows the one game at 12:30pm Do we need to get on the phone today?
  19. will they still break 3 million Yes, the tickets are already sold.
  20. I agree with ollie. You can't change the timeline at one point (Gwynn with a K instead of a DP) and expect the rest of the timeline not to change. Don't you guys watch any SciFi?
  21. Post whatever you want DougJones43, but I still believe in this team, and still firmly believe they will be in the Playoffs.
  22. It's not going to happen, so why talk about it. The Crew will be in the Playoffs this year.
