  1. How many times do the Brewers have to tell the story behind the untucking of the jerseys before people will actually get it? Maybe when they have to listen to the story a few times when the Crew is in the playoffs and they are sitting home watching it.
  2. Question: Didn't Al Hrabosky play for the Cardinals? Did they have a problem with his antics back in the day? How soon they forget.
  3. I should say, that I don't mind them coming out to the park either. Just don't get in my face if I'm not cheering and booing like a dunken idiot. You cheer in your own way, and let me appreciate the Crew in my own manner.
  4. What's up with yanking their shirts out of their pants on the field as soon as they win a game, which, despite what they claim, really is an insult to the other team? I like this. If they would take the minute or two, to learn WHY they do it, they probably wouldn't have such of a problem with it. When I was at the last series in St. Louis, I had an older Cards fan come up to me after the game and ask me about it. I told him the story, and all he said was, "I figured it was something like that". He didn't seem to have a problem with it. Sore loosers is all they are. Get over it Cardinals.
  5. However if they come out the yard and start booing for no real reason then I have a problem. But we have all been over that in other threads. I'd have to agree with that. My only other minor problem with them are the ones who are just there to get drunk. Oh yeah, and those that start the wave and get on you because you're not doing it. Ummm, buddy, I'm trying to watch the game. I know when to stand and cheer my head off for my team. I don't need 5 beers and the wave to keep me interested.
  6. That was a good pitch, Prince. Now home plate ump, let's be consistent, call that one all night, both ways.
  7. Why do you think that? I don't think they will/can resign Prince, so he's gone. Also don't think Hardy will be happy about moving when Escobar is ready to take over, so he's gone. So I think they will go after Hart more than the other guys, knowing in the back of their minds they are going to loose Prince and Hardy. And I think Corey will be a 30/30 guy very soon in his career.
  8. I don't understand the people that want him (Hardy) to move to 2B I think it's because they are already penciling in Gamel at 3B, and don't like Weeks at 2B. His best position may be at 3B, IF he can keep his hitting stats up there, and stay healthy. However, I'm not convinced he can do either of those things over his career.
  9. Corey Hart isn't going anywhere.
  10. I'd love to put another beatdown on the Cards and bury their postseason hopes tonight Well, at least throw a couple more scoops of dirt on them. Still too early to bury them yet. It's at least getting up to their waist by now thou.
  11. 15 replies about hearing about 1982 and zero replies on if they team can reach the win total from the 1982 team. I sure picked a winner of a topic. LOL!! Yes, I think they will pass the 95 win total this year. But, I am probably the most optimistic person you'll meet when it comes to the Crew.
  12. I bet you hate it when a band you like gets popular because you "heard them first." I really hated it when the Chili Peppers went "mainstream".
  13. Man I hope the current version of the Crew can do some damage in the playoffs and win the WS in the next few years. I enjoyed those Brewer teams of the late 70s and early 80s, just as much as anyone. I was in that 10 to 14 year old range where baseball was all I lived during the summer. But I'm so tired of celebrating a WS loss and the old logo. I refuse to wear anything with the old logo these days. I feel it's time to move on.
  14. I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to respectfully disagree with that. Escobar is said to have the best glove in the minors by many scouts. When he is ready to start full time in the show, Hardy will be moved to third or second. He won't be given the option, and if he doesn't like it, he will be traded. As Hardy get's older, I see him slowing down some. And he's not fast or quick right now, so eventually he'll end up at 3B or 2B anyway. Plus I don't see him being very durable thru his career, so maybe trade him soon, while is value is still pretty good.
  15. That's a great article.
  16. Is Gamel going to be ready to start next season? He's not even in AAA yet, unless I missed something. Gamel was just moved to AAA in the past week. In my perfect picture for next year... Gamel starts the 2009 season at AAA. He tears up the league and they have no choice but to bring him up in May. Which brings the Crew their second ROY in three seasons. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  17. I worked in grocery stores for around 10 years thru high school and college. (Which is why I now consider myself a "grocery store snob", if there is such a thing.) Started in a full service meat department back home, at a little 4 isle store. Everyone came their for their meat, because they had the best in the area. Finished up as assistant grocery manager at one of the better stores here in the Milwaukee area. I have way too many grocery store pet-peeve's to list here.
  18. Regarding the not letting fans back to their seats 'till a stoppage in play... I really, really, hope they do this for the playoffs.
  19. And he also hasn't been exactly Willie Mays defensively, so it's a wash. Huh? Don't ask me. I don't understand what that meant either. He's been great in the field. Sure he's had a couple of bad plays but no outfielder that covers as much ground as he does will be perfect. It will be the same outfield as this year. Hopefully Gwynn is not the 5th OFer.
  20. I have tickets for the Saturday game in Sec 103. My tickets for the other two games are much better. That section for the July series was probably 95% cub fans. All I have to say is it had better not be that way for the Saturday game.
  21. Wow, you are very generous. Depending on the game and where the seats are, that's like handing your family and friends $1000+ . Myself, I can not afford the $3,750 price tag of the my post season seats. So, I will sell one or two of the games to cover the cost of the remainder of games. I'm just a nice guy, what can I say.
  22. If you couldn't tell from the guy in the Oktoberfest leiderhosen throwing out the first pitch, it's La Crosse Area day at Miller Park. Hey now, I'm from that area of the state. (Sparta, to be exact.) 'Course that's also the reason why I now live down here. So...yeah...where was I going with this? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  23. I doubt it has anything to do with not being able to afford them or not having the available credit on your card. Some may just not have the time (due to family or work) and/or may not want to deal with trying to sell the extra tickets. Some might only be able to go to one per series and want to give others a chance to buy tickets at the regular price. Myself, I'm getting the full strip. We'll go to as many games as my Dad wants to go to. Then the other games I'm going to sell to family and friends for face value. Yes, I know I could probably make a nice profit, but I'd rather sell them to my group of fellow long-time suffering Brewer fans who won't get a chance to get any tickets at a reasonable price.
  24. Just look for the big geeky-looking guy in the Brewer shirt. Heck, that describes just about half the stadium. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  25. Not the way he's pitching right now.
