  1. Don't people think it's possible, if not likely, that Ned isn't so "it's no big deal" when the media isn't around? I do. I also believe that if he didn't... he wouldn't be at the park early and stay there 'till all hours of the night, and he would have been gone a long time ago. If some people don't like what Yost says to the media, it's simple, don't read or listen to it.
  2. Considering how badly we got beaten in almost every game, I doubt that anything either manager did had much bearing on the outcome of the games. I agree. With the way the Brewers played (or rather didn't show up for the series), the cubs could have had a 12-year old manager, and the Brewers could have had LaRussa, Joe Torre, or whoever you think is the best manager of all-time, heck all three of them in the Brewer dugout and it still wouldn't have made a difference.
  3. Anyone here know the Philadelphia area? Specifically I'll be in Malvern for some Vertex training from August 2 thru August 5. Looking for a place to watch the Brewer games. Thanks.
  4. Well, 'bout time to leave work and head on down to the park. Let me just get in one last... GO CREW!!!
  5. I hope he was just joking because I would guess a very large portion of posters here would find it impossible to buy a 4 seat full season ticket package including myself. What is that, $10 large? Heck, I'm not even sure my budget for next year is going to allow me to keep my 20-Game Pack for two seats, in the stupid bleachers. With the experience I've had out there, I'm not sure I want to anyway. Too many 20-something, drunk, college kids, not even really watching the game, for my liking.
  6. I bought extra tickets for this series. Sold them all to Brewer fans. I suppose they could have lied to me and told me they were Brewer fans, but they didn't know if I was a cub or Brewer fan from the start. And I don't think it's all because Brewer fans are selling their tickets to cub fans. They can go online and buy the tickets as soon as they are available just like anyone else. I will give you that the greater majority of cub fans probably bought their tickets from Brewer fans thou.
  7. He's in the running. Other than that, all I have to say is...I think it's a bit too early for the fans to be chanting "MVP" for him at the park.
  8. I think the lineup change just means they're facing a tough RHP. And yes, I think this is a must win game for the team, not just the fans. They don't want to fall 3 games back after being only 1 game back with their two best pitchers going in the first two games.
  9. If my daughter ever did something like what "bball123h" and "MJLiverock" are describing, I would drag her ass out of the stadium, and she would never again be allowed to attend a sporting event. Thankfully I do know her parents, so she will not act like that to begin with.
  10. Yes, I know it's still only July. Yes, I know there is still a lot of baseball left to play. Yes, I know all the clichés But, with Sheets on the mound tonight, I feel this is a must win.
  11. I'll never understand what motivates people to make an ass of themselves like that. What does it gain someone to hurt someone else, or damage property? I think it's very simple... Starts with an overall lack of intelligence and a lack of respect for other people and the game. You add a few too many beers, and that is a very dangerous mix. I'm not just talking about cub fans, every team has these kinds of "fans". And no, I'm not trying to be funny here.
  12. Oh man, running a softball team is the worst. Even when we had really good teams, there would be at least 4 games a year where I'd be scrambling to find someone to fill in, just hours before the game. Then you suggest the next year that we maybe add a couple more players to the roster, but no, can't do that, someone may have to sit then.
  13. Lou looks old and not very mobile these days. I think Ned could take him.
  14. Nope, neither would anyone else on any message board. If you think you could, but you've never even managed in Minor League ball, you're seriously just kidding yourself.
  15. For me, it's Braun calling out his teammates on May 19th after the Boston series. Since then, they have the most wins in the majors. Close second is the Sabathia trade.
  16. That's why the people that still boo him are annoying on two fronts: He ended up getting more than double what Melvin offered him so I'm not going to blame him for that, and he did the Brewers a favor by opening up space for the young OFers. Why would Brewers fans not like that deal? Because they just don't understand. They will boo at anything. Some just join along and don't even know what they're booing about because it's "fun"..
  17. What games you going to, where you sitting? Monday: Sec 210, Row 5, 5-6 Tuesday: Sec 208, Row 13, 1-2
  18. As long as Braun keeps hitting these key home runs, I don't care if he wants to moon-walk around the bases.
  19. Since that low point on May 20, at 20-24, sitting in last place, and after Braun called out his teammates... The Crew is 40-20 (.667). Most wins in the Majors during this time. Best record in the NL. Second best is the cubs at 32-27 (.542). They picked up 7.5 games on the cubs. Best record in the AL is the Angels 38-19 (.667), second best is the Yankees 38-21 (.621).
  20. Time to start a new 8 game winning streak. Go Crew!!
  21. I'm not even worried. I just have the expectation/feeling that they will come back to win this game.
  22. I looked at it again. It was borderline. Maybe a little high, but not too bad. Maybe I could have explained it better. I mean if it was in the dirt he wouldn't call it a strike. Had to at least be close.
  23. well hopefully he stays up in the bigs He's in Detroit for the weekend with the same crew, I guess someone got nailed by a line drive and has a concussion, so he's filling in. Pittsburgh, with a different crew after that. There isn't much turnover thou, by the time they need someone permanent, they might take someone younger instead. He's 31 right now. I posted a couple of good stories from yesterday over here: Umpiring Crew for the Cards Series
