  1. What this ultimately boils down to is Yost deciding to pitch McClung against the Cardinals and get Bush two starts at home against the Astros and Cubs, while watching Suppan make a couple of starts to see if he's healthy and effective. If the home/road platoon thing lasts into August, then you have to question what Yost is thinking. I'm hoping that by then it's obvious what 5 pitchers the team wants to roll with the rest of the season. Exactly. You have somewhat of an unknown in Suppan right now. If he can't turn it around he's probably the one who will have to take the demotion to the pen, and to hell with salaries. I don't think it will come to that however. I think Soupp is going to be fine, beginning with his start tomorrow against his old team. Then Bush will take over the 5 spot and McClung will go back to the pen. This won't last the rest of the season, it's just a way to weed out one of them. Unless Bush and McClung both pitch great in these roles, then the Crew should be in first place, so don't mess with a good thing in that case. So let's see what happens. Regardless of how dumb you may think Yost is, he's not going to stick with this for very long if it's not working.
  2. Just found out that they called up my cousin from AAA to ump this series. His name is Todd Tichenor. He'll be at 3B tonight, probably 2B tomorrow, 1B Wednesday, and behind the plate for Thursday. Have to send him a quick email to make sure he knows how big this series is for both teams. Tell him to make sure he gets his butt down the line so we don't have any missed home run calls. And that I don't want to see him on Sports Center making a bad call against our Crew. "Keep it fair, keep it fair."
  3. They still left that error on Corey as a hit. I'm going to check that tomorrow again. Parra should not have been given any earned runs this game.
  4. I am actually rooting for the Crew, of course, then the Cards to make the Playoffs. I'd rather see the Cards in, than the ScRubs. I think this is going right down to the last week of the season, with all three teams still in it.
  5. It's a good move, don't give up much, and if he leaves next year they will probably get some kind of draft pick back. High OBP guy, solid veteran backup, insurance if Weeks gets hurt or just plan stinks it up. Melvin's not done yet. The pen will be addressed as well.
  6. Wow. They don't even want to TRY Gagne here. What does that tell you.
  7. I blame my 2-year old daughter for Corey's error. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif I made her take off her Corey Hart shirt to eat dinner so she wouldn't get it dirty. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Then Corey makes the error.
  8. Tack a couple more on here. Sit Torres down and give Gagne a shot in the 9th.
  9. How is that not an error? It hit Corey right in the glove.
  10. Oh man, Corey, com'on. Did they give him a hit on that? Terrible how they baby outfielders. Those should be unearned runs against Parra.
  11. You mean the Brewer game? Yeah it's on FSN. If you mean Cards-Pads, I don't know.
  12. I don't care how cub fans feel. As long as they stay on their side of the state line, everything will be fine. If you do happen to see one, tell them to get ready, because these Brewer kids are coming to kick their team's ass. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  13. Yeah, if this works, stick with it. If not, you just let the guy who is doing well keep going. I doubt both of them will bomb. Plus it keeps them both stretched out if Suppan can't turn it around, then you put Soupp out in the pen. (But I think Soupp will be fine.)
  14. No doubt in my mind they are going to win this one today. Even if they bring in Mota to give up 5 runs. The Crew will come back to match it.
  15. I think this is the case of the average fan only looking a BA and K's, then saying the guy stinks. I also think he's been very good in CF. Sure he's had a few mistakes, but no outfielder is going to be perfect. He's gotten to, and caught, more fly balls than we've seen Brewer CF's get to in recent years. His range is huge. I know someone out there will post some cool defensive stats. I know he was leading all CF's in some kind of OF stat recently.
  16. Cameron goes yard. Game over. Get CC out of there. Perfect time to see if the break did anything for Mota. If not, DFA him tomorrow. EDIT: Yeah, I didn't think so. Strike 'em out CC!!!!
  17. I enjoyed Trenni's brief interview with Margie Sabathia, CC's mom. She sounded pretty down to earth for giving birth to and raising a super-stud pitcher worshiped as a god by Wisconsinites. He sure is spoiling us so far, isn't he.
  18. So what do you do here in the 9th? Sure would be nice to get CC out of there after 8 with less than 100 pitches thrown. Get him a few outings with under 100 pitches, maybe he can go on three days rest if needed somewhere down the road. 6-1 lead, you would hope your bullpen would be able to hold that lead against the Giants. But who do you trust out there? Don't really want to use Torres if you don't have to with a 5-run lead. Sure would be nice if you could steal an inning by using Gagne. The hell with it, let CC get the CG. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  19. Any Family Section. Loge infield/outfield isn't too bad. I would stay away from Field Level Bleachers (at least on weekends) and non-family sections in the 400 level.

  21. It's a lot easier to manage a bullpen when your starters can give you 6, 7, 8 solid innings. And when you do call on the pen, that they can actually get someone out.
  22. Forget you guys. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Mets CREW D-backs Cubs are the wild card, but again get swept in the playoffs.
