  1. PRINCE!!! Com'on boys!!! Crush them!!! This thing ain't over yet!!! GO MARLINS!!!
  2. WEEKS!!!! Kick the crap out of them again tonight boys!!!!
  3. I do agree with you here. I've long thought the average Milwaukee sports fan is an idiot. Just listen to them after a Packer loss. I've been a Yost supporter all year, because as I said, we as fans don't know what's going on in the dugout or the bullpen at the time of the decision. But I'm having a real hard time defending him after yesterday and after the Chicago game where Hart got called out on strikes and Mench was batting to end the game.
  4. First, I do admit to being a Yost supporter all year, a "Yost apologist" as some people like to say. The way I see it, we as fans don't know what's going on in the dugout/sidelines at the time, so I always give the manager/coach the benefit of the doubt. I don't dwell on every little move normally. "Should have put in this pitcher", "should have left in that pitcher", whatever. The way I see it, the player still has to do his darn job regardless of who the manager is or what the situation is. The player has to throw good pitches, or not swing at a pitch in his eyes, or field the ball cleanly and make a good throw. But there are three things lately that I've had a hard time figuring out and/or defending to the "Fire Yost" people. 1) The Hart strikeout call in Chicago on that pitch about 2 feet outside. I feel he should have had one of those Earl Weaver-type, dirt kicking, base throwing, hat turned around yelling in the umps face, get kicked out and suspended for 3 games, RANT. At the very least it would fire up the troops. 2) Mench should have been pinch hit for at the end of that same game. If not with Jenks, then with Counsell. Either one of those guys knows how to take a pitch. If they don't get the hit, maybe they at least work another walk out of a pitcher who was obviously wild at the time. 3) Yesterday…I don't care what "the numbers" said. Why not let Shouse, who has been your best reliever since the break, face one more batter. If he still gets beat, then fine, you lost with your current best reliever on the mound. It's not like he had been out there for 2 or 3 innings or you were bringing in your closer. It was Aquino. A guy you know stinks. I mean that's why he was sent back down in the first place, and he's only on the roster now, because of the September call-ups.
  5. If this is a "vote of confidence", I think we've all seen, with other teams and other sports, what that the end result of one of those normally is...usually means the manager/coach is going to get fired.
  6. Can Cappy buy a break? Broken bat little fly falls in there for a hit. I think the only reason they let Parra bat was because they wanted a sac bunt.
  7. I agree with what "trowekamp" said. The only other option is Hart in the 2 spot, but then that leaves a gaping hole in the 5 spot. Really no other choice tonight but to put Hardy up there.
  8. I don't know, I thought he as getting squeezed a little with the strike zone, and a couple of those hits were good pitches. Just one off the top of my head, was the Lee hit. I seem to recall that pitch being knee high or lower on the outside corner. That's a good pitch anyday. Maybe I'm wrong. For most of that 7th inning I had my face in my hands.
  9. I've been a fan since 1971 (the year I was born) and I'll continue to be a fan 'till the day I die. I say let the negative, bandwagon, fair-weather fans jump off the bridge. Some of us can see the core of this team is still very young, have no doubt they will learn from this year (if they don't make the playoffs), and come back that much more hungry next year and in the years to come. There will be a World Series played in Milwaukee within 5 years. I'm totaly confident of that. There is a reason right there for those so-called fans that are wondering why they should stick with this team. Which come to think of it, if you are a real fan, why should you need a reason to "stick with your team". That right there tells me you are only a fair-weather fan to begin with.
  10. You know what I am getting tired of, and I'm sure the team is... Our local media asking the team about the Cubs. Hey local media, how about giving the local team a break and only talk about the local team and the game they just played. How would you feel? You go out and do your job, and you have to answer questions about some other team. What is that garbage?
  11. I'm with JimH5 on this one. You pretty much said everything I was going to say. I was shocked by a couple of those points razzzorsharp made. And about missing County Stadium, I'm only 36, but I went to several games as a kid, then in college, and after. I don't miss CountRy Stadium one bit.
  12. I think the speculation about Wise being the one is because many believe his mind is still not right after hitting that Cincy player in the head. I for one believe that.
  13. You know, I can understand the entire team being frustrated lately. Seems like they are constantly bombarded by questions about the ScRubs. Did you see this: http://www.jsonline.com/story/index.aspx?id=642007 Under the "Now they're chasing" heading. Can't our local media give the local team a break and stop asking them about the ScRubs all the time? Did you see what they did today? They've won 10 in a row, they're creeping up, what do you think about it? They're catching you, how do you feel about that? Now they're caught you, do you feel like it's slipping away? I don't know, I could see getting really pissed off if I had to answer questions about some other team every day.
  14. Hey, maybe it will do for the Brewers what it seemed to have done at the time for the ScRubs. I say, let'em put on the gloves and meet at home plate.
  15. I haven't been over there yet. Many of my family have thou. He went on to have 8 children and geez I lost count of how many of us grandchildren there are and now great-grandchildren. My Grandfather got kind of lucky, if you can call it that. When the ship got hit by the Jap sub, he was awake and close to the deck. He had just gotten out of the shower, so he spent the 4 or 5 days floating in the ocean completely naked, except for his boxers. He never talked about it with any of us of course, he did show us his shark bite thou, but never really said how he got it. I've read some articles from the local paper that interviewed him when he got back. He was able to find a life raft. One guy was loosing his mind and wanted to jump out of the raft. So a Marine and my Grandpa had to beat the guy up and tie him down to the raft to save him. It got so cold at night that they had to jump in the ocean to stay warm and just take their chances with the sharks. Every time I think about him or read the various things my family has about this, just can't help but get emotional about it. But I feel it has helped me get thru some tough times thou. I just think about him, and nothing I have to deal with could even match what he went thru to allow me to be here today.
  16. Soup -- that was the USS Indianapolis -- this was referred to in Jaws. My wife had family on that ship, so it is always of interest to her. I didn't get to watch it yet. I've got it saved on TiVo. But my Grandfather was also on that ship. Unbelievable what he had to do to survive that experience.
  17. All right!! Nice to see some haven't thrown in the towel yet, there is still a lot of baseball yet to play. GO CREW!!!
  18. I still believe the Crew wins the division and we will see playoff baseball in Milwaukee this year. The ScRubs are due for a cold streak and our Crew is due for a hot streak. I'm still going to enjoy watching a pennant race either way.
  19. Hummm...the ScRubs, with a chance to finally pull into a tie for first place, can't get it done. Could today be the closest they get to first for the rest of the year? Maybe they loose 3 of 4 to the Phillies, the Crew take 2 of 3 from the Mets. Then Crew 2 of 3 over the Phillies, and Mets 2 of 3 over the ScRubs. Crew up by 3 again at the end of the weekend, and they never look back again? Hey, if some can say the Crew is falling on their face right now, I can suggest the opposite. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  20. (This is not really directed towards anyone or any of the posts above this one. I didn?t actually read all of them anyway.) I haven't stopped believing, I think they are still going to the playoffs this year, and I'm going to enjoy every game of the season. Good or bad. Cuz' this stuff doesn't happen every day. I don't get some of these people who have to complain about everything. They complain when the Brewers stunk, that they were never in the race. Well now they are people!! Enjoy it!! Our team is finally in a pennant race!! I'm convinced some people just complain for the sake of complaining. They just do it to irritate other people, because they like to irritate people. So, I'm going to ignore those people from now on. I'm going to sit back and enjoy following a pennant race in August/September for a change. Instead of talking about who the Packers 3rd string TE is going to be. Because at last, my favorite team of 36 years and counting, is finally involved in one again!! Will they break my heart in the end? Maybe, maybe not. But I'll be dammed if I don't enjoy the ride. Come November, I don't want to have to look back at this year and say, "man, they really were good, I wish I would have watched more games".
  21. ScRubs LOOSE!!! ScRubs LOOSE!!! ScRubs LOOSE!!!
  22. Well, time to turn on the video game for awhile.
