  1. Is he going to be their closer this year? If so, I see a tight collar coming during save situations. Careful Ryan, you could become the next goat they blame for decades.
  2. along with Stackhouse teaming up with Vince Carter could make the Nets much better. Included in the article you linked: The Nets are expected to buy out Stackhouse's contract immediately, which could enable him to re-sign with Dallas if he waits 30 days,
  3. Woot-Off The site will occasionally deviate from the one-product-per-day model for a "Woot-Off", where a succession of products are available for a period of unannounced length, usually 24-72 hours. This mode is indicated by rotating lights and a bar indicating the usually undisclosed amount of product remaining. During an average two-day Woot-Off, Woot's sales typically exceed one million dollars.[6][/sup] Bag O' Crap In lieu of typical product sales, Woot occasionally offers a $1.00 fukubukuro-like blind grab bag officially called "Random Crap." Its accompanying picture has lent it the name Bag O' Crap" (BOC), despite its shipment in a box. The BOC includes dollar store items and may also randomly include (significantly) more expensive electronics items [7][/sup]. The "BOC" typically sells out within minutes of furious ordering, often overloading Woot's servers. On April 1, 2007 as an April Fools' joke, the Bag O' Crap was offered for the price of $1,000,001.00 with the regular price of $5.00 for shipping. A coupon code ("please") was discovered in the product image and utilized by Woot users to receive a $1,000,000 discount on the BOC, thus reducing the price to the standard one dollar. --Info provided by wikipedia
  4. Didn't they have a message posted about some sort of email glitch on the site? Maybe they're doing some repairs during downtime. Not sure, but it didn't work for me either.
  5. Wasn't it Patrick Ewing who once said something to the effect of, "We make a lot of money, but we spend a lot of money." I seem to recall that take getting a lot of action on Jim Rome's show.
  6. mtrebs, I actually contacted the Brewers about this about three years ago, but it didn't change anything. Didn't think it would, but I tried. At the Leff's party, I would say they have a good 50 port-a-johns and the lines don't get too bad until the end.
  7. Growing up, we got the WSJ every day, and I was amazed how weak it was The sports writing sure hasn't changed since then.
  8. I'm interested in a few things, do you only take paypal/credit?
  9. Yeah, the new look for the WSJ is interesting. I haven't quite accepted or figured it out yet. I just hope there is always a place for newspapers as I read one every day and there is no way I'm doing a crossword puzzle online--I need to do it in ink!
  10. So much for those three dime losses you mentioned earlier! Nice work. Now that I've got a little more in there, I'll start playing around to see if I can make a jump like you did.
  11. I filed my taxes last Saturday and have already received my state return. I'm doing nothing fun with it either, just adding a little extra when I pay off the monthly bills.
  12. I was never a fan of that paper. I always wondered why Madison needed two dailies.
  13. Al, there's a link on the page after you log in. My account is up to about 85 cents now as the result of a 3-teamer last night.
  14. I don't think he's a jerk at all. Sure he "quit", but is it fair to not be able to give your all back to them? He's 67 and the daily grind took it's toll. He was honest to admit it had gotten to be more than he could handle anymore. Now, you could make a case for him being a jerk with the way he's handled himself on numerous occasions in relation to press conferences and throwing chairs..... If I had a son, I would love for Knight to be his coach. He's a disciplinarian, sure, but his players graduate and that is a tribute to him. I really found my respect for Knight in an interview I saw where he discussed everything in life except basketball. He was very engaging and articulate, I enjoyed listening to his views ranging from authors to his grandkids.
  15. I'll add Jay Wilson to the mix. Funny thing about Jay Wilson is that I convinced myself long ago that he was a closet Cubs fan because he'd always show their highlights/score before the Brewers on the 10 o'clock news. We had a brief email exchange where he denied such affiliation...but I still believe it, so he's on my list.
  16. Based on the lead story on ESPN, Knight said he is tired and can't take it anymore.
  17. I will also pile on in the Gus Johnson love-fest. There were 2 NFL games I'd watch each week on Sunday Ticket--the Eagles game and whatever game Johnson was calling. Some of my favorite announcers are hockey announcers: Mike Emrick, Gary Thorne, Sam Rosen and Steve Levy (when ESPN had hockey). My favorite NFL radio announcer is Eagles voice Merrill Reese.
  18. I just read that on Yahoo. What a surprise it was to read that.
  19. 4. Aaron Sims I think he's the guy who also does P.A. at Madison Mallards games.
  20. I just watched most of the performance on Youtube, and I would say it's Tom Petty doing what he does. I'm not much of a fan, but I like some of his stuff. Of course he's not going to appeal to everyone--no one ever does. I hated the fact that Janet Jackson and Prince have played, but what you gonna do? Halftime is for beer runs, stepping out for a cigar or using the bathroom.
  21. Had my first fishbowl at Wando's also- One night my friends and I were at BW3's when this group of older women approached us carrying a plastic Gap bag that they had used to smuggle a full fishbowl out of Wando's. They asked if we wanted some and my buddy went on to drink about half of it in one shot. They were not pleased.
  22. Wow, did I sound that bad?http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif
  23. I'm assuming you don't live in Madison. Up here, the Bucks are virtually non-existent.
  24. drinking tickets suck... How else are the cops gonna get paid?
  25. I wonder if we could ever do a Who Am I? with the Miller Park concession-stand people. It's the Upper Deck Section B Peanut Guy! My friends and I had "named" over 1/2 of the ushers&vendors at County Stadium. Not all of those names are site-friendly.
