  1. He is getting paid $10 million no matter what. It isn't for next year, its for the past two years. So it's not $10 million or $22 million. It's $10 million and $22 million. As to if he'll be worth $22 million, well he wasn't worth the $17 million he was paid last contract.
  2. Collins had somewhat large splits as well, with a wRC+ 131 vs LHP and 106 vs RHP. I could see a world where Bauers splits time with Collins and Vaughn. Now if they think Collins can handle 2B, that would change.
  3. "Some small-market teams take being competitive very seriously. The Brewers, Rays, and Guardians..." *BZZZZT* Wrong! The Rays are not a small market team. It isn't 1998 anymore. Tampa-St. Petersburg is the 11th largest media market at 2.2 million households. Orlando, which would be less likely to send fans to games but is right nearby for TV revenue is 1.9 million households and the 15th largest market. Together that is bigger than Chicago that has two teams. The Rays are one of the problems in baseball because they don't fully utilize their market. They should be a net contributor to MLB not a taker.
  4. 4th most impressive Brewer rookie a finalist for ROY
  5. The reason Jenkins was upset with the move to center was because he knows this is his last season in Green Bay and by becoming a center and not a guard he could lose millions next year. Jenkins contract reaches the funny money stage next year where he is either restructured or cut. And since Gute doesn't sign players over 30 , he knows he will be cut. Clark is the same, he wouldn't be a Packer in 2026.
  6. From OTC it looks like a big cap hit if he is cut pre June 1st. After June 1st its a big cap savings, but that looks to mean paying a $6.25 million roster bonus. I am far from an expert on this but it looks like a decision of cap space versus money.
  7. That means absolutely nothing. The Dodgers have a very good farm system. https://www.fangraphs.com/prospects/farm-system-rankings
  8. Owners not stupid? Man.....
  9. Down 10 with 5 minutes left in the 4th quarter and you kick a FG on 4th and 5 from the Baltimore 30 screams that you don't trust your quarterback.
  10. They gave him the money in the hope he wouldn't take 18 months to be ready. It was a gamble they could get ~150 innings from him in 2025. And the Brewers were not alone in making that offer.
  11. Baty may have been available last offseason, but I doubt he is now and if he is it would cost more than one season of Peralta.
  12. Yes? What are we even doing here. Collins terrible September was a wRC+ 97. He had a worse May and somehow still was able to play baseball afterwards at a high level.
  13. Daniels pulled a Love and gift wrapped a victory to the Bears. Well in this case it wasn't a badly timed interception (Love's specialty) but a fumble on a handoff when Washington was driving to pad their lead.
  14. I agree that Snell was close to untouchable but everyone asking guys who are at best average against average left handed pitchers to hit Snell tonight when the guys who destroy left handers couldn't touch him is just wild to me.
  15. Its not the left handed hitters that failed today. It was the lefty killers in Chourio and Vaughn that couldn't touch Snell that was really terrible and hurt the Brewers.

  17. Perkins vs RHP wRC+ 123 this season.
  18. Yeah it's been so long since hit hit a lead off double
  19. Jansen was likely to better offensively than Haase (which he was) while being worse defensively (which he was). But it was for fewer than 80 PAs which is why this was always weird. Haase 77 PAs fWAR 0.3 Jansen 78 PAs fWAR 0.4 And this was with Jansen exceeding expectations for his bat. (wRC+ 119 vs 100 career)
  20. This has little to do with the Tigers (except for getting swept by Cleveland) and almost entirely due to the run Cleveland is on. The Tigers are a solid team.
  21. Anderson is another reliver who is pitching significantly more innings and more often this year than last. He has 62 appearances in MLB and 2 in AAA this year compared to 23 in MLB and 26 in AAA last year.
  22. They are so biased they put Chicago ahead of Milwaukee in the alphabet!
  23. The weird thing is that Pedro was done at the end. Kershaw had a decent season and likely could go one or two more.
