  1. What cherry picking? Punto and Betancourt are about equal offensively but Punto is an elite glove while Betancourt is a terrible fielder. And I'll see your Twin fanbase and raise you with the fanbases of Seattle and Kansas City. Royals fans are so happy to be rid of Betnacourt they are celebrating Escobar despite his terrible season.
  2. MLB doesn't want to do anything. The union gave the owners permission to tinker with the draft last time and the owners couldn't agree on anything. As long as certain teams benefit from the current set up its going to be hard to get anything done.
  3. No they really haven't. Kotsay's defense has been horrendous and his offense has been around replacement level. When Morgan coems back as long as he hits the bench it won't be a problem. Boggs has been better than the disaster of Reed and Almonte. But as to who Branyan would replace, the Brewers have 3 catchers for some unknown reason. All in all though, I'd rather give Katin a shot since the bench could use some right handed hitters.
  4. Punto's career wOBA .294. Betancourt's career wOBA .295.
  5. That's like saying that Yuni is terrible food but at least he comes in giant sized portions! 100 games of Punto and 60 games of Yuni is better than 150 games of Yuni and 12 of Counsell.
  6. Anyone hear anything about Almonte? I assume he's still having issues since he hasn't been moved off the 7-Day but I was wondering if anymore has been said.
  7. Weeks always looks to draw walks. He doesn't swing at crap. Fielder has hardly pulled the ball this year. Saying things like that makes it hard to take you seriously.
  8. Talking about good defensive plays on TV Neither match:http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=14981453
  9. Pretty sure Betancourt swinging at the first pitch to make an out is his signature moment
  10. Bottom 5 hitters by wOBA: 1) Mark Ellis .230 2) Miqul Tejada .231 3) Vernon Wells .234 4) Miquel Olivo .238 5 Yuni .240
  11. Weeks is hitting the snot out of the ball. He's outdoing what he did last year right now. Fielder is above last year and his career average. McGehee's power is down and Hart isn't there yet. Betancourt is one of the worst hitters in all of baseball.
  12. So Yuni gets hit when he would have been out with a good throw or a good 1B where Gomez reaches on an error when they didn't even throw the ball until he was at 1B
  13. Given the time difference and late flight this is almost a day game after a night game so Lucroy not going isn't so surprising
  14. They had a bad week and a half that coincided with them having their first real road trip of the season. Listen to Ryan Braun, its just a fluke.
  15. Schrempf and Jean-Ralphio together at last!
  16. No Hart was on the team, Yost just played Mench over him.
  17. I don't even know what to say. Rivera (who would likely come into replace Lucroy anyway), Boggs who can hit from the left side, or Yuni and Roenicke chooses Yuni.
  18. Well the ump's eyes were definitely deceived. He slid into the tag. Its clearly coaching telling them to swing early at Harang. Stupid players listening to the coaches!
  19. Yeesh. Maybe it was the week prior. I just remember his average sinking pretty well. Wasn't he over .300 all season? He had a bad homestand but he was the only Brewer hitting during the losing streak on the road.
  20. That "slumping" Weeks? Over the week coming into today he's hitting .320/.393/.360.
  21. He can't play SS at this point. Now sure he'd be better than what we have now but he is owed $16m per from 2011-2013 and he's got a BABIP of .387 so he's going to come down.
