  1. No it doesn't. The #2 hitter should be your third best hitter. And saying Gomez is 5th (he's actually 6th) ignores the huge difference between 4th at .372 at Gomez at .299
  2. Who is going to give Betancourt a 2B job with his bat? Keep in mind his "good" year last year was helped considerably by a HR/FB of 7.6% compared to a career rate of 4.5%.
  3. Espinosa is only hitting .217 so I doubt he has a real shot. His BA will trend up but he likely needs to gain 50 points rather quickly to have even a small shot.
  4. Very few teams will pick position players off the wire unless there is a clear upgrade or a need. The point isn't that Boggs and Rivera are really good, they are just better than those currently on the Brewers.
  5. Counsell showing why at 41 he's still better than Yuni Betancourt
  6. I hate trying to test Hernandez. Morgan and Gomez? Sure, everyone else, no
  7. Kubel isn't really an OFer at all. He's not full time starting caliber. He really should be platooned and he plays terrible defense.
  8. He'd be a huge improvement on defense. Betancourt is a win below average on defense over a season, playing Wilson full time would likely be an improvement. The real issue is can Counsell's bat play enough to offset the hopeful improvement in Betanocurt's bat? The problem is that this isn't the first season that Betancourt just didn't hit, this is looking a lot like his 2009.
  9. Which infielder would that be?
  10. The Tigers don't need SS help. The Mariners and A's do however but I'm not sure either team would be willing to make a big trade at this point. And I'm not sure that the Cardinals will look to upgrade from Theriot especially since they have Punto to come in for defense.
  11. The Brewers needs are a shortstop and a power hitting bench bat (hell any type of hitting bench bat). Thome on the bench would be nice but really ideal would be a decent 4th Ofer with some power so Kubel would fit though his defense is bad though not any worse than Kotsay's.
  12. SF has one of the worst offenses imaginable.
  13. Tammy 2 (Megan Mullaly) is actually Nick Offerman's wife for those who don't know. Likely the biggest reason Offerman shows up on Children's Hospital.
  14. Except that you might get a curve ball, slider or split finger fastball in the dirt or a high outside fastball and you can't bunt
  15. Inglett doesn't project well. Its the baffling move of keeping Almonte and Reed over Cruz that's really annoying since if you have Cruz and Counsell Inglett really doesn't have a spot anyway.
  16. If Lucroy catches 4 out of 5 starters that is all you can expect. I'll worry about Game 4 of a playoff series at that point in time and its not like Lucroy has never caught Wolf and its not like Lucroy didn't have a tough game last night.
