  1. After Hart's hit today there is a very good chance come the end of the day "rusty" Hart's BA will be higher than "polished" Gomez's BA.
  2. The contact play is almost always called by the manager That should have been an error but got to keep McClouth's reputation
  3. Zips projections for the rest of the season: Narveson: ERA 4.64 FIP 4.16 Estrada: ERA 4.66 FIP 4.14 Keep Estrada stretched out.
  4. When are you going to realize just because you never heard of a guy it doesn't mean he sucks?
  5. Loe has trouble vs LHers. If minorleaguesplits still existed you could easily see this in all the work he did in Nashville.
  6. Loe facing LHers... Surprised they didn't lift Johnson for a runner
  7. I'm gettin' really tired of hearing that. Low errors does not in any way shape or form = good defense. It's staggering to me that a baseball guy like Bill Schroeder spouts that out as well. Schroeder also thinks players should swing at pitches 2 inches off the plate with 2 strikes
  8. That's the whole thing. Reaching 3B with 2 outs in near meaningless with Gomez's speed. And that's even ignoring who he's hitting in front of.
  9. Gomez is an idiot. There is really no other way to put it.
  10. It doesn't matter. Don't know why people make a big deal of it. Lucroy wouldn't go both today and tomorrow anyway.
  11. Estrada is still Estrada and I say this as one of his biggest backers. His ceiling is a #3 since as a RH flyball pitcher who throws high 80s low 90s with OK strike out numbers he just is limited. Greinke is one of the top 10 pitchers in the league.
  12. I hate seeing relief pitchers hit. It just invites injury.
  13. I swear out of all the "hitters" parks supposedly in the league I always see balls carry more in Houston.
  14. I remember Yost at the end of the season saying yeah Weeks was injured but we wanted him to get exposure to the major leagues, were told he couldn't make it worse (I think swinging with a bad thumb could, I don't know screw up your swing and hurt your wrists) and they wanted him to work on his defense (yes with a bad thumb). Thing is the Brewers were decent in 2005 and while unlikely to catch the Astros' 89 wins with someone else at 2B they could have easily had a winning season.
  15. And I still hate the Brewers for forcing Weeks to play injured in 2005
