    How has Kotsay "hit well"? His line is .286/.388/.310 and his OBP is only that high because he has gotten 3 IBB. But the bigger issue is that he can't field. His glove completely outweighs anything his bat could bring which isn't much.

    And who are these two "better players"? Kotsay has performed decently as of late whereas the rest of the bench has been trash. Morgan and now Boggs should be out there before Kotsay

    Felipe Lopez was benched for not running out a ground ball on Friday after not doing so on Wednesday. So he hasn't made many friends in Tampa and many expect him to be released shortly.     So is this going to finally force them to add an actual infielder to the roster? The bench was short before, now the backup plan is likely either Braun or Almonte at 3B with McGehee moving to 2B in case of injury. Are they carrying so many pitcher because Mitre is still not quite there?

    The problem is Ryan Howard's deal. Compared to Howard Fielder is a decent defensive player. But that isn't saying much. But if the "premiere 1B" Ryan Howard is getting $20+ million a year and Fielder is better than him, well ...

    My problem with Almonte isn't at the plate. Yeah he isn't good but most pinch hitters stink. It's that they keep trotting him out to play the field. Neither Kotasy or Almonte should see the field unless its an emergency and if you play them in the field either your bench is configured wrong or your manager is making a mistake.

    They color coded the hair for the families quite nicely. A few things that I thought they could have done better. The first is to make clear that the sigil for King Baratheon is the stag which makes the scene of finding the dire wolf cubs more potent. The lack of dire wolf cubs up until this point looks to blunt the impact of something that appears to happens in the next episode.

    But the only effect this has on the present is to drain current bankrolls to pay Braun $10m today. So if anything this is a negative for the present.

    It's only 3-6 games until Hart comes back, so they'll probably just keep a short bench until then. He might come back during the Reds series. At that point, I'd guess Kintzler goes down.Yes its 3-6 games for no discernable reason. And the Brewers have no power threat on the bench now.

    If they do that I'm going to scream. Because its going to further shorten the bench and who knows the status of Morgan. So you're left with a bench that consists of Almonte/Kotsay and Counsell.
