  1. Melvin drafted Gallardo over Jack's objections. So yeah, not really as cut and dry as you think.
  2. K rate matters much more than overall velocity. If you want to worry about Bush's plummeting K-rate and rising walk rate and tie that to a decline in velocity that's one thing, but the idea Bush ahs always sicked because he doesn't hit 92 is wrong.
  3. Davis's FIP is 4.62 his xFIP is 4.68 with GB% of 50.9 and LD% of 18.2. So yes its luck for Davis. But for the Brewers its having a terrible defensive infield.
  4. That's not Parra, that's the terrible defense behind him. 59%(!) of his balls in play are GBs. Just like Davis, the defense has killed Parra (well including his own). The big issue with the Brewers isn't really pitching, its a horrendous defense that extends innings leading to runs scored and short starts, an overworked bullpen, and losses.
  5. Butler if he can get enough innings in this season.
  6. Sure if Green can hit well enough he's at 3B or 2B but that's up in the air at his point and really they need to get McGehee off 3B as soon as possible unless they trade him after this season. Dunn isn't an option. He can't play the field and is at the age where his offense could nose dive at any time.
  7. Greg Zaun:.272 .346 .391 Kottaras:.243 .434 .595 Anyone complaining about the catching is just so wrong it isn't funny.
  8. Given that McGehee is a terrible 3B not sure why Gamel is being moved at this point
  9. Except the Brewers had a very good pitching staff in 2006 made up of Sheets, Capuano, Bush and Davis.
  10. Yes patient Ned who benched Hardy after 6 weeks and had Hart buried behind Kevin Mench. Yost who got Eveland kicked out of the organization and never gave Mike Adams a fair chance.
  11. So teams that won about 58% of their games won around 62% at home
  12. No one had a falling out. Texas offered him a huge sum of money.
  13. Actually that's exactly what that means.
  14. Like what? Throw at my guy and you're going to get an 83 mph fastball to the ribs? I bet they're terrified of that threat. Brian needs to stop saying "playing possum" all the time. It's incredibly annoying. Though Prince applying a "tag" to Hanson on the bunt could have been interesting
  15. Gameday's hung up because they already had the walk punched in
  16. Go to gameday and look at Chipper's PA-only one two of those were balls
  17. Chipper getting the "seasoned veteran" strike zone in the PA
  18. I said from the beginning I never understood why they were playing around with Stetter's arm slot. The upside of fixing the arm slot for a LOOGY just isn't there.
  19. Hmm, see I'd guess that all those necklaces and sweat bands are going to be auctioned off for charity guys so that's why Fielder is wearing so many.
  20. Bill, the DBacks are not struggling on offense. Edit: And please explain again how Narveson not getting over is Fielders fault.
  21. Actually Davis has been the better pitcher so far this season. Garland's FIP is 4.32 and xFIP is 4.53 while Davis is at 3.99 and 4.01. So no Garland is not clearly better.
