  1. In his career his changeup percentage has been 29.0%. This year coming into this games its been 17.8% His fastball is exactly the same velocity as it was last year.
  2. Hoffman pitched 3 changeups in that inning. What is going on?
  3. So is this already a victory for the Pirates because they didn't have to go the pen until the 7th?
  4. Why is Wolf hitting? And the umps and the media are really off this game
  5. McGehee looked like he decided he was going to hit a home run in that AB
  6. I always love how the Twins and Royals (especially the Twins) are supposed to be a long time rival for the Brewers. Yes those long years from 1994 to 1997 when the Twins, Royals and the Brewers played in the same division.
  7. I'm not sure its personal so much, and if Kottaras would be scheduled to face a tough LH Zaun might get the call but if Kottaras starts 2 games a week might as well be with the same pitchers.
  8. Obviously the Brewers need the extra offensive oomph when facing the Pirates.
  9. Kottaras catches Wolf and Davis, Zaun catches Gallarado, Bush and Narveson.
  10. Capuano had a 4 win season for the Brewers. Davis had a 4 win season for the Brewers. Bush had a 3.8 win season. Pods had a 3.4 win season. Overbay was an above average player, Lee was an above average player, Ohka was an above average player during his time here.
  11. Yes if we ignore all the players that Melvin got via trade or waivers he only uses free agency and the draft.
  12. Agreed. Call it the "Pujols Effect". Every year there's supposed to be a rookie that completely dominates. It's only really happened once since Pujols and that was Braun. Any others? Longoria.
  13. This will be a miserable 12 weeks and perhaps longer if Uecker stops traveling even for a little while. As for fill-ins,there is Matt Lepay. I don't know Ted Davis' schedule after the Bucks. And Dennis Krause has done play by play before
  14. Because the NBA is so talent lopsided any stat like that is going to be meaningless. IE a 1 seed is usually so much better than an 8 seed that when the 8 seed goes down 2-0 they have no shot. The Hawks are likely better than the Bucks without Bogut but the talent differences isn't a 1-8 thing.
  15. Because while MLB was willing to pay off the Orioles, a New York team would likely involve payoffs to 3 teams, the Yankees, Mets and Phillies. And since MLB has been operating on a Super-Super-majority basis (25 votes of ownership for the big things) you're already half way to blocking the move.
  16. Dunn isn't worth his contract. His defense is that bad.
  17. MLB doesn't want to have year long interleague play. That isn't likely to change, its likes the big weekends interleague play causes.
  18. But Fielder isn't worth $25m over 5 years (Howard definitely isn't). On a one year contract, Fielder at $25m would likely be in line with his expected value. But the Brewers take on way too much risk for five years at that price, there just isn't any discount for them taking on the risk. Fielder's top upside is likely what he did last year, a 6.8 win season. But he could have another 2008 which was a 2.8 win season. And that's without injury concerns thrown in. At $20m it may make sense, at $25m it doesn't.
