  1. Assuming they don't land Gonzalez. Which is why Fielder probably won't bring back that much. Gonzalez is out there, Dunn is out there, Berkman is out there, Lee is out there, Pena is out there, and even Overbay. And that's before you reach Howard and Pujols after 2011.
  2. Why the rush? Worse happens is Fielder spends another season with the Brewers provides another 5 wins of value and then brings 2 draft picks.
  3. Magglio isn't 1/2 year rental. It makes no sense to trade for a guy you then can't play because you don't want his option to vest.
  4. Yeah the Royals really won that one...
  5. I just don't see any team giving Fielder an 8 year deal. If Minaya still is in charge of the Mets possibly, but that would be about it.
  6. Hoffman's O-swing% right now is 9.5.
  7. If Weeks is healthy all year he'll make $5.5m-6m next year in arby.
  8. He hasn't been able to throw his change up for strikes. Until he does he'll have lots of issues. Right now Hoffman may see the DL to make room for Suppan.
  9. By the time they were 24 both Parra and Weeks were very good baseball players. Gomez isn't. Yes players peak later but Gomez just doesn't need to peak he needs to be loads better to be average at the plate. Very few go from hackers with little power at 24 to something else 3 years later. Could Gomez? Sure but he could also have already peeked as a player since defense seems to decline starting at age 25.
  10. The best play I think was still Hall's to preserve Bush's no-no for the moment.
  11. Given that Gomez hasn't even shown an ability to hit a fastball (negative value the last 2 years) in the major leagues not sure we should really celebrate him getting more. Gomez will be pitched to get him out no matter where he hits (save ahead of the pitcher). And while there is hope of improvement most players at 24 are what they are.
  12. I thought up until yesterday it might have been an insurance thing in case Suppan couldn't go but now?
  13. Well going by speed scores, McGehee was actually fast compared to the rest of his career last year
  14. Except that last night Reyes was having control issues and it was likely going to big the longest outing of his season so its hard to get anything off of that. That said Macha needs to show he's willing to pull Edmonds against a LOOGY (this would all be better if Edmonds was hitting 2nd so that the opposing manger won't be able to switch out the LOOGY out).
  15. The rest of this inning could easily take 45 minutes-one more pitching change at least-and if no DP it could easily get to 4
  16. Of course before the win, Cordero gives a HR to Lee and the Reds commit 2 errors to load the bases.
  17. Inglett? The idea is to get him as few PAs as possible.
  18. Just on Gameday, is Bush getting as jobbed as Gameday says he is?
  19. Sneezes cause all sorts of injuries, its a violent thing. And wasn't it pretty much determined that Kent was covering for a motorcycle accident which was a problem since like most baseball contracts he was forbidden from ridding a motorcycle? Who was the Rockie that threw out his back carry venison?
  20. Treanor is back up for the Rangers with Saltalamacchia heading back to the DL: http://texas.rangers.mlb....s_tex&fext=.jsp&c_id=tex
