Given that vast majority of professional baseball has the DH there is a lot of fake baseball out there.
  2. endaround
Crapuano? Woohoo, thats some funny stuff there!
  3. endaround
My biggest problem was then he goes to Torres. So he uses his best reliever this year and hurries to warm him up in a game thats over. Shouse could face a RH bat in this situation. Jackson has to be here for some reason.

Davis was a decent pitcher before he came to the Brewers, McClung has earned his 6 ERA. The idea is to give you the best chance not to just blindly scrounge.
  5. endaround
If by stiffs you mean three starting pitchers for multiple seasons, well yes
  6. endaround
I see it as a high risk low reward move. McClung throws 4 innings while waling 3 and King 4 and allowing 2 runs to score. Well its a success! Then we'll be stuck with McClung for another 3 starts where he turns out to be the same pitcher he's been the entire time.

I think its more the fact that Brewers are actually hitting the ball with some power.
  8. endaround
That handling of Parra is just mindblowingly foolish.
  9. endaround
I really don't know what to say. DeFeilice deserves the shot more.

    Making things happen!

K's are never an important stat. And the fact that Hrady can GIDP more than Cameron isn't some great selling point. And Hardy has hit better in front of the pitcher than elsewhere in the lienup. That another of those Schroeder things that just isn't true.
  12. endaround
The Brewers have yet to lose at the new stadium in Washington, therefore the p=100 against the Nats right?
  13. endaround
Based on what? He hit better at #8 last year than #2. He's hit better at #7 this year than at #2. He's just not a good hitter and getting him more PAs isn't a good idea.
  14. endaround
AL bench players should love the DH. You remove the DH and you suddenly have bench player competing with players who are starting now for bench spots. An abomination is watching Sheets hit.
  15. endaround
Mike Sherman won lots of games.
  16. endaround
To emphasize, San Diego, a team on the verge of having a meaningless 4 months to close out the season, couldn't find room on their bench for Crabbe.
  17. endaround
At least Dusty Baker isn't managing the Brewers. Dunn bunting with the tying run on 2b?
  18. endaround
    Yeah Branyan

Wes Helms is Ned's Wes Helms
  20. endaround
Lowe would have been the closest this year
  21. endaround
And Yost will never use Gwynn as a pinch runner. Who would he ever pinch run Gwynn for? Rivera, who plays 2 games a month and maybe Fielder if Fielder is the tying run on second base in the bottom of the 9th though even there thats unlikely EDIY: Also no reason why Hall couldn't move over to 2B and have Braun take PAs away form both Weeks and Hall until things start going.
  22. endaround
And not one single mention of Nelson who wouldn't need to clear waivers. Gwynn brings nothing to the team.
  23. endaround
The Brewers could have gotten Estrada for just Davis. Melvin wanted another starter coming back to fill Davis' spot, so the Dbacks included Vargas and Melvin had to offer up Eveland (which the team put behind Jackson) and to even it out he got the nugget of Aquino. It was just a terrible trade.
  24. endaround
Yes and put in LaPorta, who is advised by Boras....
  25. endaround
So when LaPorta takes a full season to adjust to major league pitching, we write off 2009? I think Brewer fans are spoiled when it comes to prospects coming up and hitting given Braun, Fielder and to a lesser degree Hart. Most are more like Hall and Hardy where they take a decent amount of time before they show anything.
