  1. McClung isn't suited for anything. His ERA reflects how well he's pitched, and thats been poorly.
  2. Nelson's first taste of major league pitching is still better than Gwynn. And its not like Nelson can't play the field. EDIT: LaPorta isn't on the 40 man and it doesn't make sense to add him. Keeping him off the 40 man makes him easier to trade and hence increases his trade value.
  3. When a team claims a player they take on his contract. Now if the Brewers outright Turnbow, a team just needs to pay the minimum.
  4. I'm just hoping no on the Fielder as DH Rivera at 1B possibility
  5. The point wasn't that players get hurt, the point is along term deal for players already under control also locks in salary depsite injury. This injury, like Hardy's, could easily push down what would have been Tulo's first year arby award and all arby awards are based upon the previous year's salary.
  6. I think Nelson or Branyan would make the most sense
  7. http://www.fangraphs.com/tgraphs/20080501_Brewers_Cubs_0.png What a pretty picture
  8. McClung game! So McClung for three Turnbow for two, and a 6 hour 9 inning game!
  9. Its 2 years, $27 million-he has a $2 million buyout for 2012 EDIT:For a 4.50 ERA they might, for 5 ERA they won't
  10. No it has no meaning at all. It was choosen the way it was because the data was easy to find and sort out. An no the punishing successful mangers in not a feature, its a bug,
  11. No the measure is crap. Close game records how they have it setup are going to be very close to .500. Meaning it helps managers with overall losing records (like Yost) and hurts mangers with winning records. Its bogus from construction. And ranking by numbers is bogus in this instance when the spread is so great. Put me and Bill Gates in a room together and I'm the second richest person but that tells us squat.
  12. No you use a hat
  13. What type of games do you like to play and do you play online? The PS3 and 360 aren't that different, it really depends upon your desire for the exclusives there.
  14. Weeks's big problem this year is that he isn't driving the ball. His LD% is down to 11.5% where it was at 17.1% last season. That really driving down his BABIP.

  16. Corey Hart seems to have a decent eye so far. But his zone is so different from a normal zone (due to his height) you might not be able to trust the data.

  18. That WSJ study is garbage. Starting with the first measure--close games are only those tied after 6. You hold a one run lead? Not Close! So its crap. Then they average ordinal rankings across catagories which is one of the worst ways to do things.
  19. There is very little difference between Bush, Suppan and Villaneuva. (You can throw Capuano in here too). I guess the Brewers must really be screwed then.
  20. McClung was warming at that point. Sheets was in to get the win.
  21. Cabrera has a career OPS of 738. Not seeing very good there. Tabata is 4-5 years away.
  22. McClung missed his spot on the home run. And I'm not sure where you think this great control is. He's walked five in 8.6 innings while giving up 2 HRs.
  23. Anyway the more important question is if he hopping ok.
  24. Not sure I'm following here. Gwynn was announced against the RH pitcher. Lou does a pitching change. So a lefty was brought in to face Gwynn. Now if Yost goes to Kapler he gets Kapler vs the left hander because the pitcher must face one batter.
  25. Bill thrilled that there wasn't a Brewer home run tonight!
