  1. 6 more home runs for Gomez and he becomes a 20 HR 30 SB guy and maybe they can get something really good for him over the winter!
  2. No it isn't. The talent level in AAA is higher than AA. Yes there are more prospects in AA but that is because AAA also has MLB fringe players while AA doesn't and AA is where prospects loose their prospect status.
  3. Minneapolis-St.Paul is not a small market. ownership stinginess <> small market. It is the 20th size market out of 30 teams. Its not KC but its much closer to being a small market than a large one. Based on what? They are 15th in TV market and 5 of the top 10 are split between 2 teams.
  4. As a 1B Hart makes a really fine RFer. If Hart isn't being moved back to RF he should be traded.
  5. Or Crawford was never really that good. He was suppsoed to be a super star but aside from his age 28 season he was a 120 or so wRC+ guy. So much more Corey Hart than Ryan Braun.
  6. Another player with Yankee ties gets caught for PEDs.....
  7. Except he'll cost less than $3m and the FA position player market is dismal. If Morgan is non-tendered he would arguably be in the top 5 free agents.
  8. And the thinnest FA position class in memory just got even thinner.
  9. Its actually three years, next year is Peavy's age 32 season and Greinke's age 29 seasons. And they are basically three prime years.
  10. He's significantly older than Greinke.
  11. Henderson pitched as well in AAA as Parra pitched in the majors. Hederson just has an unrealistic strand rate allowing for his ERA to shine.
  12. Not that hard to find that Henderson pitched 48 innings in 35 games in AAA. Also not hard to find that Henderson has serious command issues.
  13. No they adjust Hart's WAR depending on how many PAs he has at each position. They don't readjust when looking at leaderboards. You need to look at wOBA. And looking at cardinal placement misses the fact that the best 1B is a much better hitter than the best RFer. Also a lot of the RFers showing up really aren't RFers like Mike Trumbo
  14. Casey McGehee June 2012: .291/.360/.532
  15. And if Gamel could play MI that would make sense.
  16. Yes but that's because Tulo is out and Reyes got off to a slow start.
  17. Melvin always dominates when trading with Washington. Spivey for Ohka, Dyksrta for Morgan, Komastu for Hairston, Izturis for nothing. You'd think the Nats would just hang up at this point.
  18. The Brewers only had a home grown C, 1B, 2B, 3B, RF, LF, 2 starting pitchers and the closer. Not sure how you expect more than that.
  19. Hart isn't a good value at 1B. In RF, yes. He is basically average at best at 1B where he is significantly above average in RF. Given Roneicke's recent comments, Hart should be traded.
  20. They say they won't vote for him because he played in Japan. Jim Souhan's quote is right on the wikipedia page for MLB RoY. The level of play matters because if they run away with it the Souhan's of the world won't matter, but if its close they will be the deciding factor. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Major_League_Baseball_Rookie_of_the_Year_Award And Nomo had a 2.54 ERA in the mid 90s. If it wasn't for Maddux's godly season that year he could have gotten the Cy Young. As it was he was one of the top 5 pitchers in the entire league that year.
  21. Yes they did. Yes if a Japanese player has an MVP type season he can win the award. But if he doesn't they lose vote by writers who flat out say they won't include Japanese players anywhere on their ballot for RoY.
  22. He can block a trade but he can't block a release
  23. The only thing Hamilton has going for him is the complete dearth of FA position players. Its him and Melky. Both of them have a chance of signing one of the most regretted contracts ever.
