  2. A pretty significant Tony LaRussa discussion was beginning. Those posts have been moved to the current LaRussa thread.
  3. Ned just used a word that's in our cuss filter. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  4. Replacing the room is supposed to be "the" fix for this, but it obviously doesn't help. If it did, one of the admins could create a new room every time this issue popped up. It's about five mouse clicks and a copy/paste to do that. The problem on James' end is that he hasn't been able to replicate the problem. That seems weird as he's spending a lot of time running around Yuku attempting to fix chat rooms other than ours. You'd think at least one room would fail to allow him in. All I've been able to observe is that the issue occurs on a completely random basis. It hits admins, mods, and members equally. Heck, James "promoted" jason21nl to chat room moderator for a couple of hours yesterday. It made no difference. James did mention the other night that an upgrade from the same vendor is forthcoming, but he didn't give a timetable, and I didn't get a chance to ask while he was in the room. Again, for other issues, clearing your cookies and cache does seem to help.
  5. The new room is up. Maybe that will help. Or maybe it won't. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif Make sure the main forum page is reloaded before accessing; the old link location doesn't exist anymore.
  6. Since there are only two people chatting, and one of them is apparently away from his computer, I'm going to try making a new chat room.
  7. Well, either my adding was affected by today's loss or Baseball Cube is behind. I don't really want to see him go more than 10% or so over 180 innings, but I still think there's a bit of room to work with. He sure looks to be pretty strong. I think his recent stretch of good games has helped a lot. Many (most) of his innings have been easy. Not all pitch counts or innings counts are created equal. It's pitching out of jams that's a killer.
  8. Hey, no sweat. It ain't a designated thread for nothin'. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Yo's at 168 innings, and we were talking what? 180? I think he's fine.
  9. James has been working on this for an hour. I'll pass your name along.
  10. James was in and out of the room, but I missed him. (I'd have seen the dark screen had he IMed me.) We've been exchanging e-mails, anyway, so I tossed your name in. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  11. Update: James has responded and I've sent him your username.
  12. Jason, I sent you a PM, and I paged James.
  13. http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a244/casey1992/boardpics/bfnet/countdown%20thread/kirkpatrick.jpg http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a244/casey1992/boardpics/bfnet/countdown%20thread/jcastillo.jpg http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a244/casey1992/boardpics/bfnet/countdown%20thread/bichette-1.jpg http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a244/casey1992/boardpics/bfnet/countdown%20thread/yost3.jpg
  14. I've moved the 4-man rotation discussion to this thread: Suggestion: Pitch Sheets on 3 days rest (also: Cubs 4-man rotation) Carry on with the closer discussion. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  15. At bats for Counsell certainly shouldn't be a motivation for playing him. However, someone reported in an in-game thread that Hardy is nursing a groin injury. If that's the case, and if occasionally starting Craig helps ensure that Hardy can be available most of the time, I'm fine with an occasional Counsell start. It'd be a problem if J.J. suddenly couldn't be available at all. I'm fine with the Gross/Hall platoon that Ned has tended to use. But Jenkins (and probably Mench) should be starting in left.
  16. phatmatt, your access to the In-Game Thread forum was changed to read-only because of the "non-contributory" nature of your posts. You haven't been banned from the other forums. Calling the board 'ridiculous' is borderline, however, calling members 'ridiculous' is strikeworthy condescension. If you'd like to continue to post here, you still have privileges to do so, but you need to think more about what you have written before actually hitting the post button.
  17. It appears as if the chat room issue that applied to some members last night may have been resolved. For those who had trouble, it might pay if they could try accessing the room sometime during the day, then reporting back to this thread. That way, we have a better chance to track down James before the game starts. As it often does the trick, the cache and cookie clearing suggestion is still a very good first step if you're having trouble accessing the room and you see others are chatting. It tends to resolve several issues. If you're using Internet Explorer, the cache is called Temporary Internet Files.
  18. I'm getting the error now, too--in two browsers. I paged James.
  19. Whenever I get a goofy error and I see others are successfully chatting, I clear all cookies and clear my cache. That usually does the trick. Because I don't like losing that stuff in my main browser, I tend to chat in an alternate browser where I don't mind losing those things.
  20. Menotti, try clearing all your cookies and maybe even your cache. That may help.
  21. Great. We're going to have to listen to Brian Anderson talk about it. On the bright side... it was cool of Claudio Vargas to "extend" his pregame interview to make sure Chris Capuano's nice long relief performance a few days ago got a mention.
  22. No sweat. I fixed them. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Ideally, of course, if you have the pictures available on your hard drive, they can be resized in an image editor. I resized them within the HTML code in the post.

  25. BREWERFAN.NET MAJOR LEAGUE FORUM TAGS Tags are keywords that describe a topic. They're used for filtering topics in the forums to make them easier to find. The ability to tag threads is a really neat feature that'll go a long way toward helping members locate information on the forum. In each forum, tags can be found in a "cloud" above the discussion list. Members who start threads and moderators have the ability to add tags to a topic. In the Yuku post editor, a field for including tags is located below the box where you type your message. Don't be afraid to use this feature when you start a new thread. Also, don't be too afraid of goofing things up. If there's an error or if new tags don't turn out to be a fit, moderators can always make adjustments. Tips and guidelines: When deciding whether or not to create a new tag, please check existing tags to make sure that your new tag isn't adequately covered by one that already exists.Try not to create two similar tags. For example, we already have a 'fielder' tag, so we wouldn't need a 'prince' tag.Yuku has a 100 tag per forum limit, so we have to economize somewhat by using a few "catch-all" tags. For example... Because there isn't room to tag opposing players and teams, divisional tags are provided: 'aleast', 'alcentral', etc. Please don't tag threads confined to Brewer-specific content with the 'nlcentral' tag.Since topics in this forum encompass three managers, the "brewermanager" tag can cover all of them.Brewer coaches have the 'brewercoaches' tag. Former Brewers have the 'formerbrewers' tag. Front office personnel outside of Doug Melvin and Mark Attanasio have the 'frontoffice' tag.All three playoff levels can fall under the 'playoffs' tag. Tags consisting of two or more words are possible if they're separated by commas. However, certain common words (and, of, the, etc.) will be dropped from the tag. For instance, "rookie of the year" will display as "rookie year". Also, a lot of members may find it difficult to 'reuse' a multiple word tag. It's probably best to write tags as single words. If you want to add, delete, or change tags in your thread, follow the same procedure for editing a post.
