  1. I got it. Thanks LE and hurricane. Looks like we have the numbers covered from every angle now.
  2. I can share that responsibility. I was doing the same thing. Blame hawing, too. It looks like she was set and ready to post. The same thing happened the previous Sunday (the game that preceded the no-IGT day). I was all set to post before the Brewers blew the game.
  3. I'm losing you, splitter. If Ryan has 305 PAs, he'd need 297 more appearances to qualify for the batting, OBP, or SLG title.

  5. It's a browser cache issue. Brian and I both noticed it when he made some tiny skin changes about a week ago. The same thing happened to me tonight when I made a minor change. (Tonight's change was to hide the hot topic stuff from the legend at the bottom of the forum pages. b19 basically killed hot topic ability the day we migrated, but the icons and explanations were still noted in the legend.) The solution is to either let your browser 'catch up' or dump its cache.
  6. Big Reed, we were able to move threads and forward users to the right forum near the end of Brewerfan's ezBoard existence. But we didn't have that cool truck icon, thoough. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif jaybird, which browser are you using? Is this all on the same machine? As was mentioned a few posts above, I've PMed a Yuku staffer on the thread titles changing to URLs at times for certain users. I haven't heard back yet. It's uncharacteristic of him not to respond quickly; I have to assume he's taking a well-deserved day or two off.
  7. I can't say I'm surprised. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif IE is a pain when it comes to skinning web pages.
  8. Yuku gives moderators the ability to hide threads. If a mod thinks a thread contains deletable material, but isn't really sure, a thread can be hidden until other mods can have some input. This gives us the opportunity to to make the thread available again if we choose. This code was supposed to apply to exactly one thread that only mods and admins would have seen. And that's how it worked for me when I checked it in three different browsers. RyDogg, what browser were you using?
  9. I'm the culprit. This was supposed to apply under very narrow circumstances only, and tested A-OK for me a few minutes ago. It should be gone now. Which browser were you using?
  10. I was just going to ask FTJ the same thing. I was seeing last poster information on the thread pages all along in Firefox, but it was missing in Camino. The original intent was exclude 'last poster' information from the main page but retain it in the discussion lists. Apparently, in some cases, the code went a bit too far. Anyway, I've changed the CSS to be a bit more restrictive. If you're not seeing changes, try going to the site skin page, hit the reload button, then try looking at a discussion list page. It's a much less drastic step than emptying your browser's cache to force changes to show up, although that's an option, too.
  11. I remember Jeff Cirillo hurting himself sleeping. He wasn't DLed, but he had to be shifted to 1B for a week.
  12. I think this quote lands on the problem here. I've put the operative word in bold. From what I can tell, this is one person 'embracing' the term.
  13. Both satellite services run FSN-WI part time. You'll get FSN-N (the Minnesota version) full time. FSN-WI will be turned on for live games, and once in a while, it'll be turned on for something else if you're lucky. DirecTV reserves a channel for FSN-WI; on DISH, FSN-WI programming jumps around between various channel numbers.
  14. Tough call here. The way the initial post is written screams article tracker. The content of the article screams in-game thread. The thread title is general, but really, the initial post should have had added content framing the topic into a broader discussion. I'm going to leave this open and invite people to discuss the effects of Coors in a general sense. We haven't done that for a while. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  15. Let's combine this into the Graffy has torn ACL; Weeks recalled thread. Feel free to copy/paste.
  16. chuckie, it's been fine for me all along in Firefox. I just checked the page in Safari, and (for now), it's working OK for me. It turns out that it's fortuitous that I haven't gotten around to sending the PM yet. Now I can include your Safari information, too.
  17. FTJ, which browser produces the issue for you? Are you missing the whole last post column or just the author's name? I've seen the last poster's name disappear in one browser (Camino). There's some CSS that should fix that.
  18. hawing saw that last night, too, chuckie, but I haven't been able to see it. The problem is either intermittent, or it could be an IE-only issue. I'll send a PM to a Yuku staffer about it.
  19. ^^ RyDogg's avatar. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif ^^
  20. I feel badly that Brewerfan apparently made the wrong initial decision on the avatar issue. About a half a dozen of mods and staff members looked at it and were concerned that the graphic would be offensive to those of the Jewish faith. I have a question: is the term, Jewboys, something that can be used by non-Jews? As a non-Jew, it doesn't seem to be something that I'd feel comfortable saying. Just a thought here… a lot of our members like to switch avatars fairly frequently. Based artistic quality, I think the Star of David in the hockey jersey looks super-cool. Yuku allows members to upload and store an unlimited number of avatars, so it's easy to switch back and forth based on what you happen to like at a given time. Count me in among those who feel the new message notification leaves a lot to be desired. I know a Yuku staffer is working on something new, but I also know it's been in the works for quite a while. It has to either be considered a low priority, or it's something that's more difficult to implement than those of us on our end might think. Here's information on new message notifications, including information about the usefulness of the Yuku Firefox extension. This will eventually go into the Usability FAQ. Unfortunately, migration came too quickly for the FAQ to be updated on time.
  21. Doug Melvin has to set a playoff roster before the September 1st callups. However, there are a number of exceptions that allow teams to change their rosters from series to series. As it would seem to be fun to keep track of how our opinions might change over the next few weeks, this is a good topic for the Designated Threads List. I'll add it.
  22. I can't tell you offhand, but I believe the deal extends way far into the future. 2011 or 2012 maybe?
  23. I don't think its a competition issue when it comes to actually putting in equipment. I think whoever owns the lines has to find the motivation to expand its network. After that, competition can kick in. That's for sure. DSL extends to points two miles to the east of me and two miles to the west of me. The service to the west is very encouraging, though. It's only been there a month, meaning I can't accuse anyone of dragging their feet, and it extends 15-16 miles from town. I'd have to think the phone company would want to fill that gap. The more frustrating thing is that nobody in the local office has access to information about the company's future plans. They'll get a work order to install a box to extend the network with just a few days notice. As far as DirecTV vs. DISH, DirecTV is better for sports. I've looked at DISH's plans and I've seen some niche stuff that I might like and could be very appealing to some people; I can't recall what that stuff is offhand, though. ============= EDIT: I changed "I don't think its a competition issue when it comes to actually putting in lines." to "actually putting in equipment." Lines are generally in place. It's the boxes that boost the DSL signal that have to be added every three miles or so.
  24. It doesn't look like one to me. Honest. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif Good topic. But I do see the possibility of this thread straying. Let's keep this about general managerial job evaluation criteria.
  25. rwa12, you win the unofficial 1992casey post of the week award. Consider that an honor. I usually give it to Geno. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Excellent work.
