  1. KC is on the hook for part of Dessens' salary and Milwaukee is on the hook for part of Brady Clark's salary. I think the simplest way for relief would be for cash to be part of any transaction, but only the accountants would know for sure.
  2. I don't remember the dirty details, but in the confusion about the rules, Vince ended up on the major league disabled list (accumulating service time and receiving major league pay) when the intention was have him on the minor league disabled list.
  3. Maybe the D'backs were playing a different team?
  4. The irony is that Daron said previously that he came to Milwaukee because it was his dad's favorite place to play and that he enjoyed the years he spend growing up here.
  5. Welcome to the forum, Ashford. I hadn't realized the Brewers had drafted Pence. I'm betting there isn't much of a story behind the non-signing, though. If Hunter was that low on every team's depth chart, opting for college would have seemed to simply be the better option for him.
  6. razor hit it. It's Counsell. Not only is he the type that'll appeal to Daron, he's also going to be an appealing choice to D'back fans.
  7. Also, take a look at this article: Death, Taxes, and Major League Waivers. Always keep in mind that waiver and optioning rules are confusing, even for GMs. The Brewers messed up with the rules when they acquired Vince Perkins, for instance. For this reason, it's certainly possible to find a mistake in any FAQ. If something's really unclear, I usually compare several resources and look for some kind of consensus. Also note that few FAQs (including Brewerfan's) are updated to reflect the new CBA. Teams can now protect older players for four years before adding them to the 40 man roster, and they can protect younger players for five years. Sometime, when I get a chance, I'm going to try to 'upgrade' waiver, option, and roster movement links in the MLB Forum Resource FAQ (post two of the Major League Forum FAQ).
  8. Three links that will help: Rules Relating to Divisonal Tiebreakers - Baseball-Reference.com Article: Coins flipped in case of ties History: Playoff TiebreakersI'll get these added to the Resource FAQ when I have time. It may also pay to add this to the designated threads list. (The Resource FAQ and designated threads list are in the Major League Forum FAQ.)
  9. In the future, if something like this ever happens again, brewers19 and I will have to remember how ridiculously easy it is on a Mac to take anything and save it as a PDF.
  10. He had a lot to say in Saturday night's broadcast with Joe Sr. He's pumped.
  11. Woah, tommy? there are two posts right in this thread about cuss filter circumvention. It would have paid to read through all the messages before posting.
  12. According to the deleted thread, we're only going to have only four posters, and sorry to say, pogo, you ain't one of them. It's going to be Brian, Russ, Al, and me. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  13. Peavey, I think there's some kind of ban over there where posts will appear for a couple minutes and then delete themselves.
  14. I never understood that H0FFY claim. All the forums are open for reading without even logging in.
  15. I believe the screen name of Brian's 'extracurricular interest' was sexybrewerlady.
  16. I don't see any brewerfan threads, but I see a "Bob Puker is a Woman" thread and a "Meth Lab at Miller Park" thread (both all caps).
  17. There was a thread last year where someone claimed to be having an ongoing affair with Brian. I kid you not.
  18. The sample size isn't large enough to do anything beyond peppering in some days off. If this is still going on down the road, then something might have to be considered.
  19. For anyone who wants some supplemental reading, here's the Damin Miller thread that crewcrazy mentioned: Chad moeller is better then damin miller Brian, brewers19, and I are all in it.
  20. Is there a way to pull it out of Firefox's cache?
  21. Yep, Peavey, the discussion appears to be gone. Given all the cussing, and especially given the post about Brian pleasuring himself in a way that would seem physically impossible, I can see how even those mods would make that decision.
  22. Ethan does a superb job, but the decision to ban wasn't really a back-patter. There were 15-20 witnesses who knew the decision was pretty dang obvious. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif Where Ethan deserves the pat on the back was in catching up with the two alter-egos. The forum controls weren't behaving quite the way he expected them to.
  23. Brian, have you gotten a greater than usual number of hits on the About Us page today?
  24. Shave your whole head, Brad.
  25. Physically, it's possible. I've seen it. The roof would be moved 'manually'. The Brewers may need some kind of clearance from the commissioner's office to do so, though.
