  1. It'd be your job to put them on the sandwich. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Kind of like ordering salad dressing on the side in a restaurant.
  2. My guess is that if you were to check more recent years, you might find yourself doing a slightly downward adjustment on igor67's OPS numbers.
  3. My gut says that Ned probably felt that Cappy would be the guy to benefit the most from normal rest. As far as Sheets, I'd have been fine with either a Friday or Saturday start. I'd have probably gone with Bush on Friday and Sheets on Saturday, but I don't think it's a big deal. I'm generally fine with deferring to the manager when it comes to aligning the rotation. Now, had this been the playoffs we're talking about, I think I'd have a lot of opinions. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  4. Don't overdo the ad links. Al's page is fine. On the other hand, Baseball Musings currently has 1,716 links on its main page: some are ads; some aren't. I didn't ferret out duplicates this time, but when the page sat at 1,200 links in January, about 400 duplicated. Also, don't underestimate the impact of the Brewerfan readership. Regulars here know you're an excellent poster and will likely follow the link once it's in your sig.
  5. I believe the Subways in north central WI have had spinach back for several months. I've had good luck telling Subway employees exactly how much of a particular veggie I want. bb, maybe they'll give you jalapeños on the side.
  6. I think you have an excellent idea. Do you think following forum rules would be an adequate guideline? It's should be feasible to do a negative feedback without condescension, for instance.
  7. I agree with you burniebrewer. 43 jalapeño slices are inadequate.
  8. I remember Doug Melvin saying during the winter meetings that a lot of calls between GMs had to do with being on the same page when it came to dispelling internet rumors. I wonder how many of his calls he's making for that reason. endaround, it sure looks to me like baiting is the only purpose for your post (The irreplaceable Carlos Lee). I can't see any other reason why Lee would come to mind.
  9. It's bugging me that I'm still up. The dog had the runs all day yesterday. Today, he's better, but it doesn't negate the need to take him outside. The problem is that he has a pretty good barometer in him and he thinks it's going to storm. He refuses to go out. So I really should keep trying to encourage him so I don't have to worry about possibly having a mess in the morning. Yawn.
  10. jaybird, I think you're dealing with good old fashioned hangovers. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif I remember taking prescription pain-killers a long time ago, and I'd experience the same thing. First, I wouldn't sleep. Then, when I did, I'd need a full nine hours, or I'd feel exactly how you described. That's not convenient when you only have time for seven hours of sleep. Anyway, while I'd submit that it's probably better to use Tylenol PM for pain rather than as a sleep aid, my suggestion would be to try taking a smaller dose. As far as Scooter1027's message? while being a doctor of pharmacy is plenty to confirm the accuracy of his post, I can also confirm what he says from a patient's point of view. About four years ago, I was suffering from pretty significant back pain for which I was prescribed Vicodin (Codeine plus Tylenol). Along with the Vicodin, I was instructed to take whatever Tylenol I needed to get a maximum daily dose. The amount of Tylenol I took was determined by the amount of Vicodin I needed on a given day. Complicating all this was the fact that my back pain occurred in the middle of the SARS scare. While not all that many people had SARS, lots of people were getting ill with some kind of cold/flu at the time. The point of all this is that while I was waiting an hour at the clinic's pharmacy for my back prescription to be filled, I caught whatever illness everyone else at the clinic and pharmacy had. So I ended up with Codeine cough syrup, too. (The cough syrup didn't contain Tylenol.) The bottom line is that I had to 'keep score' every day. The amount of Codeine I ate or drank varied; I rarely took the maximum allowable in a given day. Most significantly, the doctor and pharmacist were much more concerned about how much Tylenol I took than how much Codeine I ingested. Basically, I had to keep notes whenever I took anything, so I could keep the amount of Tylenol I took in check.

  12. ezBoard slowness.
  13. Unnecessary condescension, phandog.
  14. Well then, let's celebrate #755. That's probably what Adam meant, anyway. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif EDIT: Oops! That was 31 years ago.
  15. Russ, do you mean bf.net or baseball-reference.com?
  16. Balancing patrickgpe's and BCU's statements, my guess is that the team is probably 'covering' the increased payroll, but isn't necessarily positioning itself for a 'huge' increase next year. (I'm thinking of works like 'huge', marginal, etc. as totally relative, of course; define those terms any way you like http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif)
  17. I remember Mark Attanasio saying that breaking even would be a 'fun challenge' with the $70 million payroll. It looks like the team's doing well with that challenge. I'd love to see this team break its attendance record. Right now, per-game average is below 2001. But you have to consider that there's 'statistical noise' to consider because of differences in the way dates are spread out.
  18. Speaking of cell phones, you know the call is kind of unnecessary when you're walking through K Mart and you overhear, "How old is he now?"
  19. Tuesdays, I'd say the most important item is #1. Outside of that, I think the team will be OK if three of the four things you listed happen. (With Villanueva and Gallardo around, we might be OK with an "either/or" on Capuano/Suppan.)
  20. You need to host the image online someplace. If you don't have web storage with your internet account, Photobucket and ImageShack offer free online image hosting. I can't speak for ImageShack because I don't have an account, but can tell you that Photobucket's uploader is easy to use. Once the graphic is online, click on the image button in ezBoard's (Brewerfan's) post editor; it'll walk you through the steps. If you're having trouble, come back to this thread for help. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

  22. Tell ya what I'll do to cover all angles: I'll lock this thread, put the link in the article tracker, and pin this thread for a day or so so it won't get bumped down.
  23. First, mb, let me express my best wishes to you, your mom, and the rest of your family. In addition to looking for ideas here, you might want to look for an internet message board specializing in ovarian cancer or cancer in general. I tried checking ezBoard so you wouldn't have to create a new login. But I'm guessing that the ezBoard cancer forums disappeared with the 'attack' that occurred two years ago.
  24. TheCrew07, your message is so good that I hate to have to point out that circumventing the cuss filter with "***** BS" violates site guidelines, no matter how pertinent it might be to your post.
  25. With a line of .296/.380/.454 (.834 OPS) this season and .290/.364/.454 (.818 OPS) since the start of last season, I wouldn't exactly call Hudson a weak hitter. Still, I think I'd have gotten Pujols into that inning somewhere.
