  1. I know what's going to happen, the Brewers are going to fall short in this thing, and it's going to be majorly depressing
  2. "You are what your record says you are"
  3. This sucks, c'mon DS, just get this thing done...you are parting with...PROSPECTS, that's all they are. Unless you think you are giving up the next Trout or Harper or Kershaw, who really cares?? Best available bat, Crew in great position as is..Get it done.
  4. Get a big bat(s) and a TOR arm...they have the prospects to do it, without question.
  5. I don't know why the Brewers(or anyone for that matter) aren't going hard after Blake Snell?? He's be a perfect fit in the Crew's rotation.
  6. Alright, he doesn't have to hit .300...hit .250 for all I care, but I want my SS to be a power guy.
  7. Arcia's 2017 numbers (as a 22-year-old) indicate that is a very incorrect assumption. .277 with 15 HRs and a .731 OPS in 506 ABs. Not world-beating by any means, but when combined with slick defense, I'd take those numbers any day. He wasn't doing it with smoke and mirrors. The blanket statement of "he can't hit" is a proven fallacy. Now give me .300, and 25HR's from the SS position with that Defense, and I'm sold.
  8. I'll gladly move Arcia...I want guys that are capable hitters and will sacrifice Defense to get them..He can't hit, and for me, that's not going to cut it
  9. Whatever needs to happen to make this deal...do it..The sooner the better...The Brewers lineup with Manny in it would be flat out sick. Remember folks, prospects, are just that...prospects. Anytime you can get proven talent(and in this case one of the best in the game), for guys that you have no idea if they will be good major leaguers or not, you simply do it.
  10. Brewers appear best positioned to land Machado
  11. I still don't get why so many assume Manny would be a rental...the Brewers will have plenty of $$ to pay him, should they choose to.
  12. Heyman weighs in... https://fancredsports.com/articles/jon-heyman-milwaukee-checks-on-machado-as-mostly
  13. I 100% disagree with this. There is ZERO reason the Brewers couldn't/shouldn't sign him long term...they have the payroll flexibility to do it easily.
  14. Is Hader's velocity down this year?? I swore he was hitting 96-97 pretty consistently last year. Games i have watched this year he's been hitting 93-94.
  15. I get what you are saying, but believe me when I tell you, there ARE sports message boards out there(that I post on/read) where people DO have legit inside info and DO share it quite regularly. Now granted, those are pay boards, and maybe that's why they can do it(and their sources know they do it), but it's not unprecedented for people to have inside info and share it with others. I get lots of inside info from some people on different things that I know is 100% legit, but they also trust I won't post it other places, and/or let it get out. I think a lot of it depends on how it's presented to the masses..there are ways of letting info get out there to the people without actually telling them the info..you give them bits in pieces in a creative way that they can connect the dots from there, or sometimes they will tell you in a PM as well. I realize blatantly posting info can cost someone their job, and no one wants that, BUT it can be done without costing people their jobs.
  16. This is an interesting observation. I see this as well and its the opposite for the Packers. Fans of the Packers scream about Ted Thompson never signing FAs and fans of the Brewers scream when Melvin/Attanasio actually signed FAs. It's weird to see fans of both teams respond so differently to these FA signings. Because NFL contracts are meaningless. Most players can be cut for little to no money after the first year or two. There is very little risk to signing an NFL free agent. All money is guaranteed in an MLB contract. When you sign that free agent, you're paying him every penny of it no matter how bad he is or if you release him. The team takes on all the risk and the player takes on virtually none. Okay but this is my point, why do fans care so much about who the Brewers sign...?? I mean, if they sign Arrieta or Lynn, what's the big deal?? It's Antanassio's money, not ours. Plus, they could actually be helpful.
  17. Well, we're apparently interested in Lance Lynn too and that would be worse than Arrieta to me. Either would be terrible though. No offense to you at all Trwi, because I see lots here that do the same all the time, but are there ever any free agents(other than minor low priced guys), that the Brewers could sign, that no one would hate?? I mean, they HAVE to add payroll anyway, signing a guy like Lynn or Arrieta doesn't cost them prospects, and most of all, why does it matter?? It's not our $$?? That's the thing I always get a kick out of when I read various message boards for state teams(packers, brewers, bucks), no one ever wants the teams to sign high priced free agents, because it's like they are offended, that someone would spend THEIR $$ like that. I always get a kick out of that.
  18. I'm stunned, you just don't expect that with Swarzak on the hill. Dammit. They are gonna lose now..oh well, it was a great year regardless.
  19. As fans, we have the luxury of looking ahead, but..I was thinking about it earlier, IF the brewers end up getting to a one game playoff vs the Rockies, who the hell pitches that game?? I want NO part of Suter or Woodruff in Colorado..obviously you'd like it to be Chase, but there is no way he could go again Monday right away..It won't be Davies either..Don't like how this is setting up.
  20. Kershaw will not be used for a full start though. Lucky to see him go 2 innings. I don't know about that...the NLDS starts Friday, so Pitching Saturday(even if he went a full 9), gives him 5 days rest.
  21. Friday night will be the key...If Brewers can get to 1 game after Friday, you like the odds of it coming down to the last day one way or another with the Rox having to face Kershaw Saturday.
  22. Like i said last night...it's always the pesky type hitters that KILL the brewers...John Freaking Jay is at the top of that list..And it's an extensive one threw Brewers history. I don't know why it's always that type that kills them, but it is..so annoying.
  23. Well at least the bottom of the 10th will be quick..lots of 1st pitch swinging, or 3 pitch k's.
  24. It's ALWAYS the punch and judy type guys that KILL the Brewers..The Adam Frazier's, the Billy Hamilton's, John Jay's, Tommie Lestella types. It's so frustrating.
