    Once again, this team is ridiculous against terrible pitchers. Seriously, they have to be the worst team in baseball against terrible Pitchers. The question is, why??

    I haven't chimed in yet, but I love love love this trade. The Brewers are relevant again, and what this deal does, is make the best team in the NL Central, that much better. That being said, given what it would cost(Gwynn), I'd love to see the Crew still go out and get Maddux, and a bullpen arm(Fuentes), possibly two. The greatest thing about this deal is watching Cubs fans reactions, and knowing Jim Hendry will now pay a premium for another starter just to try to match what the Brwers just did. I love it!!

    Agent 39, maybe you can, maybe you can't answer this question, and if you can't that is fine, but is there a chance the Brewers could be getting more then just CC in this deal?? By more I mean some minor leaguers.

    You are really going to quibble if they want Brantley instead of Cain?? At least they aren't asking for Escobar etc.

    Also, a poster on the Brewers.com message board is reporting Shapiro has said "take it or leave it" to this deal which was just reported on Cleveland radio stations supposedly. Brantley certainly doesn't make me say no to the deal: LaPorta Green Brantley for CC Edit: Removed link to Cleveland.com story a TooLiveBrew beat me.

    Does anyone else find it odd that Brian Anderson mentioned something about "this could be a big day of news" for the Brewers. Right after Braun was announced as the All Star starter?? It's almost like he knows something is coming, but can't say anything yet.

    If the report is true about DM NOT wanting to give up LaPorta, what is he doing?? If I find out that the Crew didn't land CC because Melvin wouldn't part with LaPorta, then for the first time ever, I would want his head on a platter. That would just be dumb.

    I sure hope the report isn't true. After all the talk, all the rumors, to not get CC would be awfully frustrating and depressing.

    Was really hoping we would've heard something by now. Little surprised we haven't actually. Still have to believe it will be today sometime though.

    That we don't know, nothing has been said, but what we do know is they have no prospects like LaPorta and all their top prospects are at low levels. It would have to be a quantity vs. quality trade for the Phillies.

    I'll tell you this much....if Shapiro out smarts himself and loses LaPorta out of this and has to take the Phillies low prospects, he is going to have a lot of explaining to do to his boss and the fans.

    To me, it's CC or bust because NONE of us know who is or isn't going to be available as far as pitching goes. We do know Maddux, Wolf and Burnett are or will be available, but none of them are even close to CC. Everyone is just thinking/hoping that Grienke and/or Cain will be available when frankly, it would be absurd for those clubs to make them available wouldn't you think?? This will be a GIGANTIC letdown to me as a Brewer fan if after days of rumors sounding like a deal could happen at any minute, if this falls thru.

    Brewer Fever, where are you getting that info??? I don't see TH's latest with this info?? I refreshed the JSonline page a couple of times, and all i see is his blog about Melvin waiting for the Indians reply.
