    I still don't get how you can go 7-0 on a road trip, then come home where you have one of the best records in all of baseball, drop 2-3 to the Astros, then look absolutely pathetic in the biggest series in regular season history for the Brewers in 26 years??? I guess that's why they are the Brewers.....They will be tied for the wild card after tonight. How depressing. I am afraid this series is going to start a downward spiral the rest of the year.

    Well, that's pretty much the game and the series. Probably any hope of the division title as well. I want to see them make the playoffs as much as anyone but when you go 7-0 on a road trip right after the All Star break and then come home and proceed to drop 4 of 5 to start the home stand, your simply a pretender. It amazes me that this Brewer team continually chokes when the lights are the brightest. I had high hopes of watching meaningful Brewer games on Sundays in September instead of the Packers, but they have put an end to the excitement at the end of July. Thanks Brewers, every time you get my hopes up and I start to believe, you send it all crashing down before August. What really PO's me is it's not like the Cubs are better then the Brewers either. They aren't.

    I really REALLY don't get the Brewers hitters approach at the plate especially tonight. Quit getting yourselves out!!! If they would lay off of everything Freak show is throwing out of the strike zone, he'd have about 7 walks right now.

    Zombrano is throwin fastballs for strikes which makes it hard to lay off of his good sinker. He is pitching well just like Sheets throwing that big nasty curve for strikes which makes it hard to lay off of the high fastball. Gotta give Zombrano credit "so far" that is why he has had so much success his entire career. Baseball is a simple game, swing at the strikes, take the balls. The Brewers would do well to heed that advice.

    Ummmmm guys, Hello???? This is Ted Lilly you are facing, not Cy Young. Please stop making him look like he's good. They are playing like they don't even care. It's the biggest series you will play all season, pull your heads out of your butts please!!

    So, this offense is just pathetic right now. They are letting Ted fricking Lilly look like he's a good pitcher. Way to get up for the biggest series of the year guys!!!

    Does anyone else get the feeling Jason Kendall might prove to be the BIGGEST thing going for the Crew in this series?? Obviously, I am not talking offensively, but defensively, and more specifically, his intimate knowledge of the Cubs hitters and their strengths and weaknesses. He has always called a good game, but against a team he is incredibly familiar with, I am guessing he will know EXACTLY what pitches to call and in what locations. The Brewers Pitchers will just have to hit those spots.

    Who didn't see the big egg being layed in this series after the 7-0 road trip?? Unfortunately, I sensed it was coming. It's really all about the Cubs series anyway. Win 3 of 4 and no one will care what happened in this Stros series. Then again, if they lose 3-4, everyone will point to this Stros series as the potential downward spiral. Let's just hope CC and Bennie get it done in games 1 & 2 then steal one of the last two.

    You just knew after a 7-0 road trip that they were going to come home and lay an egg didn't you?? I could sense it from a mile away. Granted, this one isn't officially over yet, but when you only have three hits off of Brandon Backe, things are not looking good. Also, could we petition MLB to NOT allow the Cubs to play and finish any games before the Brewers even start their game?? The crew has been absolutely terrible this year under that scenario. I can think of at least 7 games like that this year where the Crew has already known the results of the Cubs game when their game started, and I am sure there are more then that, and the Crew has lost all 7 of those. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif

    Just not their night I'm afraid. You had to figure a sweep was going to be next to impossible. Who can complain about a 6-1 road trip??? Just really unfortunate they had to lose the last one on a night the Cubs win though. Oh well, 2 GB.....I want to be tied or within 1 starting Monday so it's set up well.
