Bill Hall traded to Mariners for P Ruben Flores
jeffy replied to Invader3K's topic in Milwaukee Brewers Talk
I think it was about pretending that they were still in it. I sure don't get why it was suddenly a mad rush to get rid of the guy at this point. Why not just put him through waivers and then see if you can work a trade, without having this 10 day deadline? Just another reason to DFA Melvin, perhaps? -
It's felt like the years of suckiness since about mid-July, but watching is even worse as Vasgergian and Sutton were able to make the broadcast entertaining.
-
But was this not the case only because, unlike Braun, he chose not to sign a long term contract?
-
I think they mentioned $17 million on the TV broadcast too. But that does not necessarily mean that it was not a rumor, nor does it mean that it was for the same number of years or structured the same. Maybe it was $17 million for 5 years, maybe it was $17 million for 4 years but less money now and more later, maybe it was a rumor put out by his agent.
-
By that standard I've never really gotten paid and never will.
-
No, I didn't mean it that way... It's all Curt Flood's fault. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
-
Thanks to Doug Melvin for assembling a weak starting rotation that has resulted in a worn out bullpen.
-
Well, after next season they do get rid of Suppan, Riske, and Hall?...what's that, about $25 million. I still doubt they sign Fielder, but who knows.
-
Ha the pitcher ducked, when prince swung at that one.
-
What will that cost, maybe $20 million per year? I can't see the team being willing or able to devote 25% of the payroll to Fielder.
-
These guys seem to miss more calls since replay was implemented. How does the umpire not see that the ball stayed in front of the foul pole there.
-
Brian seems to have strange ideas about what the pitcher batting 8th is supposed to accomplish.
-
Really, Brian A, is moving the runner to third for the pitcher "getting the job done"...
-
I always hate the point at which the Brewers become second-class. It would not be so bad if it did not happen when the Packers are only in playing preseason games. Until reading that I had no idea the Packers were even playing a practice game tonight. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

My understanding is a player gets 3 days to report, and Hardy had clearly indicated that he would take the full 3 days, so I don't think having only the one PH appearance since he was reassigned 3 days ago means anything.
-
Rodriguez gave up 9 total runs in his last 9 games, before tonight.
-
Do you really call it "strikes out the side" when it takes facing 11 batters to do it?http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif
-
Escobar's first start was yesterday, actually. Melvin in the booth yesterday indicated that batting the pitcher 8th is, statistically, supposed to be worth about 3 extra wins per year. This is a view, I assume many here may believe has some merit, so I don't get the ridiculing of doing it.
-
Did you see the play? The comment had nothing to do with using two hands. It had to do with not bothering to get under the ball and holding his glove on his side near his waist to (not) catch it. You don't like the "trying to look cool" comment...so is lazy, nonchalant, and lackadaisical acceptable criticism? We had had two major league players drop the most rountine of pop-ups this season. That is simply pathetic. If they are this bad at defense, then they should, perhaps, act like routine plays are not routine.
-
...and it happened with Lopez trying to look cool and non-chalant
-
Feels like they already have lost. Stetter has sucked lately...
-
Unbelievable!
-
He also says it's Macha's fault for not giving him some days off:
-
A bit of both, perhaps? Mark tells Doug fix it or you are gone. Doug commences a series of desperation moves.
