  1. I'm in a similar situation in one league. My only two "closers" were Lidge and Capps--which isn't going to work out great at least to start the season. To top it off, it's a head to head league with holds as a scoring category so there isn't much for relievers left on waivers. I'm just going to play with Sale, Mcgee, Benoit, Capps and Frasor and hope to win most of the K/9, Holds and WHIP categories and just chalk saves up as a lose.
  2. Found the app on the android market today. Not sure I will ever use it, but you never know--sometimes it's nice to show off things you learn from BF.net!!
  3. Couldn't find the app on the Android market, but if it's only available at the Field level stands it wouldn't mater anyway. Seems just as easy as ordering from waitstaff in the club level. I'd rather grab my own food instead of tipping someone else to bring it to my seat.
  4. Hofbraunhaus--if it makes you feel any better, I had Louisville in the championship game in one of my brackets. Doh!!!
  5. I'm loving the 4 games on 4 channels as well. One question though, does anyone else notice a vast difference in sound quality and level on the TruTV HD games? It's really bad for me with Charter, but at least it's in HD.
  6. www.shutterbean.com/peanut-butter-bacon-cookies/ Just stumbled across this recipe tonight and am going to try them out soon with plans to bring to the home opener. Can't get much better than cookies with bacon in them.
  7. Same here! Got them in the mail yesterday!Curios, are those your season tickets or the extra tix you ordered for being a season ticket holder? I see that my card has been charged for what has to be my opening day tix and I really want to know where are seats ended up being. I looked online, but the tickets aren't listed under my account yet.
  8. A not so flattering article about the game against Ohio St. Who knows if it's true or not, but it certainly doesn't show a good side of Badger fans either way. The comments after the article make me so happy to be able to read BF.net with posts by intelligent speaking people verses the general worthlessness of comments on yahoo.
  9. Is anybody else upset by this? This doesn't make any sense to me... link That's the same way playoff ticket availability has been worded for the past few years. Not surprising really when you think of how many extra tickets that the team would have to provide for the playoffs to media and opposing teams. Also when you think about all of the different plans for partial seat holders, and the fact that all of them would be attending one single game, there is no way that the Brewers could seat everyone in their usual sections or levels.

  12. We never book our rental cars with our trips until right before we leave. Last October in Orlando we were able to use Priceline name your price and got a full size car for $17 a day, it was also cheaper than any economy or compact at the time because a lot of people want to spend as little as possible on their rentals so the low end cars are actually in higher demand.
  13. The wife was able to snag me a Bag 'O Crap yesterday afternoon!!! I always use the wooters.us tracking site and it was able to open a new buying window and proceeded without any issues before she could hit "I want one" under her account in a different browser.
  14. Not necessarily looking for a top of the line TV set, just something to replace the old tube set in our bedroom and wondering what the thoughts are on this deal from Wal-Mart. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=15185906#rr 42 inch RCA Plasma, 720 and only 60 HZ but like I said doesn't need to be the best for our purpose. We have a Sony Bravia for the living room, I just want to get rid of the old heavy set in the bedroom. Light reflection isn't an issue at all either. Thanks all for your input. Was just looking at the Friday ad online and noticed they are also going to have a 42 inch Emerson 1080p LCD for $398. If that deal is available online I would actually prefer that one, but since I live the life of retail I will unfortunately be at work at 2am Friday so can't make it to the store to pick it up if it's not online.
  15. We were not planning on doing at least 20 game packs for the first time in 5 years, and this solidifies our decision for certain. We recently moved to central Wisconsin and will have a hard time making it to 20 games and the discounts and bonuses that are being given out this year just don't make it worth it. I will probably pick up a 9/10 game pack in the spring if they still offer opening day with it, but we'll see. I totally agree with the general feeling that the NYCE passes aren't very useful, and I have no use at all for the free scoreboard message. I'd also never use the discounted suite rentals or the 4 pack of Gehl club tickets. Seems to be that they are cutting costs where possible and offering "freebies" that most fans will not take advantage of, or if they do, the team wouldn't lose much actual revenue from.
  16. The best thing that I've ever won was from a scratch off lottery ticket a few years back. My buddies and I were headed out on a week long baseball trip to Kansas City, St Louis and Nashville and I decided to pick up a Brewers scratch off from the gas station. Top prize was opening day tickets for life if you scratched off some special symbol. I didn't win that but I did get an big Brewers prize that included an authentic jersey of my choice, a winter jacket, a spring jacket, three t-shirts, two hats, and a rolling cooler bag. It was an awesome prize that took almost three months to get and it was a great way to kick off a baseball week.
  17. Anyone interested in the remaining bobbles, they are now listed on Ebay here.

  19. Fiance and I are looking to raise some extra spending money for our upcoming honeymoon. Most of these are not rare or high dollar bobbles, but thought that I would offer them on here before putting them on Ebay. Prefer to sell these, but would be willing to trade for other random Brewer's collectibles. Local pickup can be arranged if you are around the Stevens Point area otherwise I will have to add on some shipping, unless you take 3 or more and I will ship for free. Prices are not firm, just based on what I can find them currently selling for on Ebay. If you see something that you want, feel free to make me an offer. If you want more than one we can make a discounted deal for certain. All bobbles are actual SGA's not retail bobbles, and come in the original packaging and boxes. Hank Aaron 2010--$15 Bernie Brewer in the Kalahari Splash Zone 2010--$15 Robin Yount 2010--$15--2 of these CC Sabathia 2010--$15--2 of these Italian Sausage full size 2010--$15--sold Miller Beer Vendor Bobble/Bottle 2010--$15--sold Bratwurst full size 2009--$15--sold Ryan Braun 2009 (not talking base)--$20--2 of these Bernie and Fang (shaking hands/thumbs up) 2009 Appleton give-away--$25--can't find on Ebay so that's a guess Barrel Man 2008--$15 JJ Hardy 2008--$15 Ryan Braun 2008 ROY cheese base--$20 Gorman Thomas pinstripe mini 2007--$15
  20. RAIN, plain and simple it's bugging me
  21. MLB Been to: Miller Park Wrigley Busch PNC Great American Kaufman Comerica Jacobs/Progressive Camden Yards Metrodome Rogers Centre MiLB been to: Fox Cities Nashville Akron, OH Favorites are probably Camden Yards and PNC and would highly recommend going to the Aeros park in Akron if you ever are in the Cleveland area and there is a AA game going on. It's a great park set right in downtown Akron---it least it was 8 years ago when I lived down there.
  22. Somewhat off topic, but I wonder if this correlates with all of the uninterrupted ticket scalping at the park this year as well. Just seems to be a general lack of interest shown by security and those responsible for patrolling the parking lots.
  23. Anyone have a picture of this beer vendor bobble yet? Or at least a description of what it looks like.
  24. Just watched the video on mlb.com, how does Molina not get ejected there? Phillips comes up to bat and Molina takes his mask off, walks in front of the plate and gets in his face. If that isn't inciting a brawl I really don't understand what would be. I guess it's just another case of Molina and the Cardinals "policing" baseball of it's rights and wrongs. Thanks Cards players and fans
  25. Game05--I work in HR and scan through about 50-100 online applications and resumes a week, it's in a totally different environment than you are looking into but if you want to send me your resume I can give you a simple critique if you would like. As far as what to include in a cover letter. I would recommend expressing your desire to relocate at your own expense as FVBrewerFan stated earlier. I would include an explanation of your situation, currently residing in Wisconsin temporarily and hoping to find a dream career in whichever area you are applying. If you do get the chance for a phone interview, set yourself up in a quiet area without distractions and have some questions prepared to ask ahead of time. I would suggest actually dressing up for even a phone interview as it sets you up mentally to be professional. The more preparation that you do before hand, the easier you may find it to not stutter and to get your passion across.
