  1. I'd question if you knew how hard it is to make some of these plays. Yes, Arcia will tell you he should make that play and he is talented enough to do so. But it's not easy. Wow. No need to be a jerk about it. Arcia normally makes those plays. If he doesn’t make a play that he normally makes, it’s not that far-fetched of a question.
  2. Now that catch by Arcia is one of those no-hit saving catches. Too bad it wasn’t that scenario today.
  3. Gio kept grimacing. Knew the game wouldn’t remain perfect as a result of that. Also, Arcia should have had that. I’d question if it should be an error instead of a hit.
  4. As of right now the Brewers have sole possession of the 2nd Wild Card spot (and the Cubs would miss the postseason!). They now have control of whether they make it or not without depending on anyone else. Pretty crazy considering how badly things were going for a while. I have to admit that I didn’t see this happening
  5. I hope we can find a way to keep both Moose and Grandal. I’m not sure how feasible it is, but both of them have been huge for us during this surge.
  6. No way are the Cubs getting swept by the Pirates. You’d be better off factoring that they will sweep the Pirates in any hypothetical scenarios. Oh, I completely agree. See my worst case scenario that I posted previously. I was just looking at both best and worst cases. If the goal is to make the playoffs, Brewers fans would be most rational rooting for the Cards to beat the Cubs as much as possible. Obviously that hurts or kills their chances at the division, but it gives the best chance of making the playoffs. Gotcha. Yes, I agree. Once it gets to the point where winning the division is only a complete shot in the dark, you have to hope for the competition in the Wild Card race to lose as much as possible. If the Cardinals hold up and win today the chance at the division gets slimmer and we’ll soon be at the point where the Cardinals might as well run away with the division, all but eliminating the Cubs from the Wild Card race.

  8. How amazing would it be to go on a run in back to back seasons and ruin the Cubs shots and then come back and ruin the Cards? Especially in the second case when just about everything has gone wrong this year. The way the year has gone a WC birth and making the Cubs miss the postseason all together would be stellar. Well really postseason two years in a row would be great for this franchise. Yes, last year I had high expectations in the postseason, especially after the sweep in the NLDS. I really thought the Brewers were going to make it to the World Series, and at that point I thought they’d probably lose and I was kind of ok with that. This year, I don’t have real expectations that they’ll make it as far, or even win a series, so just making it after how frustrating this season has been would be quite the accomplishment. Booting the Cubs out would just be the cherry on top.
  9. I’m rooting for the Cardinals at this point. The likelihood of us winning the division has to be pretty low, so I’d rather them push the Cubs out in case the Brewers stumble a bit over the last 10 games of the season.
  10. Yeah, I wonder if it’s best to root for the Cardinals now which hopefully get some us to the wild card game.
  11. Alright. Can’t win every game, but need to win the series tomorrow. I thought if they win each series they’ll have a good shot of making to postseason.
  12. I really hope the Brewers can find a way to win this game. It'd be nice break that threshold and get ahead in the wild card race, instead of getting tied for the second spot and then dropping back, having to catch up again.
  13. I thought they had 3 straight winning seasons between 1987 and 1989. But still, it’s been a long time.
  14. Last season a Cubs fan troll joined and posted in several IGTs pretending to be a middle aged Brewer fan from Kenosha. His posts got more and more weird, and he continued to bring up his hardened Little League mentor, Coach Cooper, who stressed baseball fundamentals or else. I think Coach Cooper was obviously inspired by Morris Buttermaker. Thank you
  15. The man. The myth. The legend. Yes, he’s obviously our Chuck Norris or The Most Interesting Man in the World, but is he a real person? Someone from tv/movies? Just made up?
  16. I’m obviously aware of the aura of Coach Cooper due to the frequency he comes up in the in game threads, but who is he? Seriously
