  1. Someone has to call of the other off. If Gomez didn't do that, it's on him.
  2. Best I could do on the PC replay without slow mo and no HD..... sure looks like it is in front of the pole there. http://i.imgur.com/G9JPc8E.jpg I took a look and paused it when the ball passed the pole - Couldn't see the ball Even blew up the image 400% and still couldn't see the ball. Pretty sure it went behind the pole.
  3. No kidding - Weeks BABIP this year: H: .588 R: .136 That's just insane.
  4. Is there a precedent for this? Have other major league teams ever wasted a roster spot on an A-ball player for an entire year just to try and hold on to them and hope they realize some potential? Seems asinine. Well....Johan Santana was a Rule 5 pick (Out of Houston's system, picked by Florida, then traded to Minnesota) who didn't pitch above A-Ball before being selected..... The asinine part is a potentially contending team wasting that spot, as the Brewers currently are. The Twins were terrible the year Santana needed to be stashed.
  5. Wang was a Rule 5 pick. He has to be on the 25-man roster all year or offered back to Pittsburgh
  6. Ok, so I'm 4-1 in predicting a win before the game starts. That's a hot streak based on high probability and and a good amount of winnings should I have bet on it. What's the issue here now? I'm 2-0 when I locate "free" streams off the internet to watch games. By your logic, maybe I have a skill.....
  7. viewtopic.php?f=65&t=31184 Post 2 PrinceFielderx1: "We're going to win this game also." http://espn.go.com/mlb/recap?id=340422108 I don't count extra inning games. Those are 50/50. Yeah - I'm sure that'll work with the bookies when they come to collect.
  8. Yeah - someone posted elsewhere that Rodriguez did look Weeks back to 3rd before throwing to 2nd.
  9. Braun has been reinstated from DL, ARam put on DL.
  10. Well - Brewers are off Monday - it could be pretty ugly for one day.... Hopefully the ol' "Sunday lineup" can scrap together a few.....
  11. Watch this video from earlier in the series: http://m.mlb.com/video/v32164555/milpit-tabata-sends-an-rbi-double-to-center-field/?game_pk=380770 Are the Pirates being hypocritical turds? I think so....
  12. My guess is because in real speed it didn't look like much, if anything at all. Slowing it down, you can tell that it was a big deal - but I'm far from shocked that call was not made.
  13. Not at all, it is included as part of a bigger picture which is his post injury stats. He has been bad since his injury and post all star 2011 is part of that. To cite the stats without any acknowledgement that he was being rushed back for the playoff chase is a bit sleazy, IMO. Everyone knows he was far from 100% when he returned.
  14. Talk about a small sample size - that was 98 PA. 46 of those PA were after his ankle injury in Sept/Oct. The fact you cited that timeframe is astounding.
  15. That isn't true at all. Correct. He STILL wouldn't be working in one currently. Actually - Law interviewed with Houston a couple years ago for a front office position. He sent out a tweet that he chose to stay with ESPN after a "difficult decision". https://twitter.com/keithlaw/status/156773020025892864
  16. 1. Play Weeks early. Whether he plays well or not, the salary is a sunk cost. The team needs to see if he can play up to his peak or if they need to cut ties mid-season. 2. Gallardo needs to be more efficient with his pitches. He's not walking a ton of batters, but pitch counts seem to be too high. The drop in strikeouts is a bit alarming, too. 3. Platoon Halton/Francisco at 1st. Ban Doug Melvin from considering Yuni. 4. Segura, Braun and Ramirez being healthy and can hold down the 2/3/4 spots for the entire year. 5. Draft more HS talent focused on tools and not position.
  17. You're looking at the $1 million buyout vesting if he gets 400 plate appearances. The 11.5 million would vest if he accumulates 600 PAs and is healthy at the end of 2014.
  18. It's ok, because he "took full responsibility." From the Cardinals.com press release: But that was after he denied using PEDs... http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/mlb/tigers/2013/02/06/detroit-tigers-jhonny-peralta-ped-anthony-bosch/1897427/
  19. Allen Craig with bases empty: .283/.327/.457 (722 PA)
