  1. Yeah...I straightened up, looked cock-eyed at the TV, shook my head and went back to reading Twitter......
  2. Weeks and Aramis both have had a multi-homer game this year
  3. Add "Real Genius" to the early Val Kilmer stuff.....
  4. http://blogs.denverpost.com/rockies/2013/08/19/troy-tulowitzki-says-ryan-braun-never-disparaged-sample-collector-to-him/15391/ Votto also denies the report: http://cincinnati.com/blogs/reds/2013/08/19/votto-says-braun-did-not-reach-out-to-him/
  5. I'm headed to Sunday's game with my daughters - not only are we getting $10 vouchers, but the kids are getting another voucher for a hot dog, drink and ice cream..... If I didn't have my daughters going - I'd have probably avoided that game.....
  6. Seems like he accepted a plea bargain and isn't appealing - at least that's what I'm taking away from the article.
  7. Great outing by Thornburg today - zero runs in 5 IP today. Brewers needed that from him badly.
  8. Francouer has never played in AAA. If you only look at AA numbers between the three, Francisco and Francouer were quite similar, but Morris was a bit better
  9. It would be nice if the Brewers had a pitcher like Matt Harvey. The guy has 2.16 ERA and 115 K's. The guy is killing it right now. I think every team would probably appreciate a pitcher like that....
  10. When Weeks was signed to his extension, he was the leadoff hitter. He was a run creator, and he still is to an extent because of the amount of times he draws a walk. Productivity isn't only driving guys in, but also getting on base to score runs. Since June 1st, he's scored 6 runs in the 11 team games in June - 7 of which he started. The funny part about that is he usually has 2 black holes right behind him when he reaches base. I can't see how you cite only RBI when getting on base and scoring runs is also productive. Your argument serves to take Rickie's walks with men on base as a negative.
  11. LOL...more of a rip on Fox Sports - they had the Brewer lead at 10 1/3 games in that pic
  12. ‏@AdamMcCalvy Braun: "I've basically been swinging with one hand for two weeks." (Thumb) Injury has worsened in recent days, so time off was required.
  13. Mark Rogers was transferred to 60-day DL - per Mike Vassallo tweet
  14. Yet Lucroy made two mistakes in one night when he didn't help Segura on a close play at the plate and then waved Ramirez to 3rd on a ball that didn't get too far from the catcher. Overstate much? I've seen Weeks hit far more balls on a line to OFs than Lucroy this year Catchers always get more time off than other position players.
  15. Here's something that was posted on Deadspin yesterday: (Edit: Colorful language in link - may not be NSFW) http://deadspin.com/jim-trdinich-is-the-pirates-director-of-baseball-commun-486353635 Wonder how long he'll have his job.....
  16. I guess the Brewers were stealing signs at PNC last year, too - the batters had a better than .300 avg and the pitchers had a 2.20 (ish) ERA there.
  17. Here's the Pitch f/x on the two key hits of the inning: Marte: http://pitchfx.texasleaguers.com/charts/gen/4460995167822013050120130501AAAAlocation.png Inge (it was the slider he made contact with): http://pitchfx.texasleaguers.com/charts/gen/4460992763462013050120130501AAAAlocation.png
  18. What's he supposed to accept responsibility for in yesterday's game? The key hits were on pitches that weren't even strikes. All he should've said is that he made his pitches and they picked up big hits in a key spot - which is true! Also - a manager and a GM would be smart enough to see through an outing to see if the guy was getting plastered or if it was a case of "bad luck". Just calling up Wooten isn't that simple - he's not even on the 40-man yet.
  19. This isn't the first time he's had interviews under these circumstances - and every other time he's handled the interviews quite gracefully. This, however, is the first time I can recall that he appeared to let off a little steam and say something that wasn't so....graceful.
  20. The only issue I have with this was the pitch Marte hit out was a ball. Even if Marte was expecting the pitch, it still took a good piece of hitting to hit it out.
  21. 1. Who's going to trade for Axford and take the salary? 2. If he's cut, he still gets the money - it's guaranteed. The money's not guaranteed next season since he's in arbitration. If "future" savings is all that's possible, then that's a huge reason to try to replace him with someone else. Correct - they're stuck with him this year and they can just cut ties next year.
  22. pure silliness. Huh...12-pitch AB and a single.... Didn't expect that one!
