  1. 1. Who's going to trade for Axford and take the salary? 2. If he's cut, he still gets the money - it's guaranteed.
  2. I think Yuni would be a little worse in the field than Weeks. When he played SS, we saw how little range he actually has. Granted - his range might not be as much a liability at 2B, but it'd still be an issue. With that said - the guy rarely botches plays that are hit within his range.
  3. If this was FSN's reasoning behind it - I just don't get the idea how the three ladies highlighted would increase viewership. People either like the sports and will tune in or they won't watch the Brewers/Bucks telecasts. Just seems to be a gimmick that really doesn't have any substance to it.
  4. If the Brewers didn't extend Braun until a few months into his second year, does anyone think they'd try to negotiate with Segura sooner? This just isn't something that's routine by any stretch and I don't believe Segura is at the same level as Braun. Even the Angels haven't extended Trout yet - and his ROY season was about as good than Braun's.
  5. Oh good god....did you really need to ask this? Same for Weeks.......
  6. It was in front of home plate, but did not go past the front chalk line of the batter's box.
  7. Got it - strange that part would be omitted on the website.... Thanks!
  8. Here's a quote from Roenicke from Haudricourt's blog entry: http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/204620931.html
  9. Hated to see the game and the streak end like that but I think the ump got the call correct. If one foot is clearly out of the box when the ball hits you, you're out. MLB rule 6.06 makes this pretty clear: "6.06 A batter is out for illegal action when -- (a) He hits a ball with one or both feet on the ground entirely outside the batters box." https://twitter.com/AdamMcCalvy/status/327286300896026624/photo/1 I think Schroeder was claiming that both feet have to be out of the batter's box but that is not the rule. According to the comment below that part of the rule, I think it has more to do with the actual act of hitting a ball:
  10. Where is that listed? I'm looking at the official rules here (http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/official_info/official_rules/batter_6.jsp) and do not see the bolded part under (g)
  11. Here's a screen capture of the play: https://twitter.com/DerekVanRiper/status/327282858286796800/photo/1 Foot still in the box on the ground.
  12. Kind of like Mark Rogers being a future Ace? Not at all actually, and you should be smart enough to know that they are completely different and it's like comparing apples to oranges. I'm not alone, Daubs. read this thread and go to the proposals section and read "segura contract extension thread." Uh...you're missing the point. How many people have called Segura "special"? You're overreaching again, much like you did when you called Rogers a "future ace".
  13. Kind of like Mark Rogers being a future Ace?
  14. Imagine if he had been in charge when Listach won ROY.....
  15. I think you mean "220" AB's. I've seen enough. Ugh...not this again. I thought you would have learned by now.....
  16. Gameday had it in the zone Saw this on Twitter: https://twitter.com/BrewCrewLive/status/326914086854082560/photo/1
  17. Of course - you'd ideally like a batter with ample patience to hit 8th due to being pitched around. I just have a strange feeling that if Weeks would do the "required" job, walking a ton in front of the pitcher, people would still complain.
  18. There's a spot in the order where it's not required to get on base via walks?
  19. Washington really concerns me - they're staying hot and I don't expect a series win there. That's not looking good for the Crew. Cinci is a different story....Philly and Houston just won 2 of 3 over them at GAB. Are they starting to slump a bit?
  20. Not sure if it was posted anywhere, but Haudricourt just tweeted that Ramirez tweaked his back and he's not expecting Ramirez to start today.
  21. Tom Haudricourt mentioned on the D-List (540 AM) that the Brewers had been talking to Wolf and his agent. They came to an agreement that it might be best to cut ties. Unfortunately, Doug Melvin didn't know that today was Wolf's birthday and was very apologetic for the timing.
  22. If I'm not mistaken, they tack on hitless ABs until the minimum threshold is met. If nobody else qualifies at a better average, that person wins the batting title.
  23. Betty White's turn on the NPR skit was hilarious, too: http://www.nbc.com/saturday-night-live/video/npr/1226057/ Also - for whatever reason, the Gas Right strips commercial gets me every time:
