  1. I really, really, really hate it when there is egg in my fried rice.
  2. If you need a reason to get excited, River City Ransom was released for the Virtual Console today. You can download it for 5000 points which is equal to about $5.
  3. This thread reminds me of one of the South Park episodes from this season. "I'm not your champ, buddy." "I'm not your buddy, guy." "I'm not your guy, fwiend."
  4. Well if anyone knows how they distrubuted that bobble, I would be interested in knowing. I take it no pictures caeser? When I saw it on Ebay, it was from a seller in Japan. I'm guessing it was a Japan only type of thing.
  5. I'd expect the Nomura to go for $200+. He is ultra rare. I'm still kicking myself for not picking him up 3 years ago because I did not want to pay $30 shipping from Japan.
  6. When I sold my extra Gantner Woodchucks bobblehead last year, it only went for $35.
  7. The Zicam I use is applied by swabbing it inside your nose. Maybe you shouldn't be eating yours. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif I've been to all 72 Wisconsin counties. Intentionally. This winter I took an overnight road trip solely to get the remaining counties (Oconto, Marinette, Florence, Langlade, Shawano, and Menomonie) off my list. I am a geography dork.
  8. In Wisconsin, there is nothing that the guy could be charged criminally with. I'm not sure about New York law. I'm sure a clever lawyer could find something to sue him over in civil court. Emotional distress or something along those lines.
  9. Caesar, maybe I missed it, but do you have the first Snappy bobblehead that was given away by Beloit? It was the same year they did the Coach Don Money bobble.
  10. Just a few things: -As was already mentioned, being a party to the crime is the exact same as if you committed the crime yourself. -There is a big difference between the police using coercion to get a confession and district attorney's using coercion for a defendant to accept a plea deal. Police cannot use coercion to get a confession. (Example: Confess or we are going to charge you with 1st degree murder instead of 2nd degree. That's coercion.) However, police are allowed to use deception during interviews and interrogations. (For instance: "We had 2 witnesses who saw you do this" when there were no witnesses whatsoever.) The police do not have the power to charge someone with a crime. They are not the one who decides between 1st degree and 2nd degree murder. They can make recommendations, but ultimately it is the D.A. who charges the suspect. Afterall, they cooperated and tried to help the police by testifying against the killer. Actually, it sounds like he cooperated because that was part of the plea deal. If there was no plea deal, he would not have had to testify. Lost in all of this is justice for the victim's family. If this really was homicide and not self-defense, would there be any justice if both parties involved walked? Absolutely not.
  11. Matt is a pretty hardcore Christian, and he is not shy about sharing his views. God has blessed him. I wish him all the best in the world, both professionally and personally.
  12. slightly off topic, but has anyone eve tried to con directv into giving you network stations when you live in an area that already gets them over the air? I was able to get Milwaukee locals while living in Madison, but this was before Madison got local channels. I called up DirecTV and told them I needed to change my service address, but keep my billing address the same. I used my dad's address in Jefferson and I was able to get Milwaukee local channels. Pretty dishonest, and I wouldn't do it again.
  13. I am thrilled. The Hurricane was my first Brewers man-crush. I remember going to Beloit to see Hernan's first game at the A level. I felt like an idiot when I told Hernan "Welcome to Beloit" in Spanish while getting his autograph. He looked at me strangely and said "Thank you" in perfect English. Little did I know that Hernan can speak English just fine.
  14. I'll post this here since this is the most appropriate thread. I've had a TV with a digital tuner since Christmas, but it wasn't until a month ago that I started to explore the channel lineup using the digital tuner. I have Charter cable, so I never saw a need to. However, I noticed that going through the digital channels, I receive some channels that I don't have on my regular channel lineup. For instance, I live in Deerfield, but I can receive the Waunakee Public Access channel with the digital tuner. The best thing I was able to get with the digital tuner were the On Demand channels. Whenever anyone would tune into an On Demand program (HBO on Demand, WWE 24-7, Comedy Central on Demand, PPV movies, Nick Jr on Demand, etc) the show would appear on Digital channels D91 (1-9) and D92 (1-9). I would be watching the show as the person was ordered it was watching it. For instance, if someone was watching a Cinemax movie on demand, I would see it as the person fast forwarded through the dialog to get to the *ahem* interesting parts of the movie. I would be able to watch newly released On Demand PPV movies without having to pay for them. However, about 2 weeks ago, I stopped being able to receive these shows. Now there is nothing on D91 and D92. Has anyone heard of anything like this?
  15. Plus, Trenni is a Wisconsin girl. She graduated from Muskego in 1995.
  16. Home run derby. A couple of friends and I play at the little league diamond in the town I live in. It's pretty sad that we struggle to hit the ball over a 275 foot fence.
  17. Last year, they had entire cases devoted to the retro bobbleheads. If you looked at the side of the case in which the bobbles were handed out, it would read either blue uniform or pinstripe uniform. This year, the side of the cases read Regular and Pinstripe, or something similiar. It looks like they are mixing them in this year.
  18. There are a couple other bobblehead giveaways this year who have had some affiliation with the Brewers in one way or another: June 27th: Pittsburgh Pirates have a bobblehead of former Brewer Dave Parker and July 19th: Arizona Diamondbacks have a bobblehead of former Brewers coach Bob Melvin It's a shame that so few of our other minor league affiliates participate in bobblehead giveaways. While on a road trip to North Carolina a couple months ago, I took a detour to Charleston, WV and Appalachian Power Park. The one employee I talked to said she was pushing for a Power bobblehead giveaway, but her idea was not met with much enthusiasm. I was hoping some of our other old affiliates like High Desert, Stockton, or Indianapolis would have a Brewers related bobblehead, but no luck. I was also hoping the Iowa Cubs would have a bobblehead of their manager Pat Listach, but no luck there either.
  19. Boca Burgers are really good. I'm no vegetarian, but Boca Burgers are really good if you are on a diet. I think each burger is 150 calories and 2 grams of fat. A few months ago, I caved in and tried one. Good stuff. It helps that I went to middle school in Spooner, where the cafeterias served some weird soybean/meat hybrid hamburger.
  20. I had the misfortunate of flying on American Airlines for the first, and probably the last time this past weekend. I had problems with every leg of my trip. I was flying roundtrip from Milwaukee to Dallas. On the flight down I had a 1 hour layover in St. Louis. On the way back I had a 3 hour layover in O'Hare. On Friday morning, I arrived at Mitchell around 4:30 a.m. Due to the snowstorm, the airport was closed. My flight was supposed to leave at 5:40 a.m. They opened the airport around 5:30 a.m., and I boarded my flight not too long afterwards. Just as we were getting ready to leave, Mitchell shut the runways down again. We sat on the runway for about an hour. That was not American's fault at all. I understand that. We took off around 6:40 a.m. My flight attendant was a guy named Ron or Don. He was really arrogant. I heard him say to another passenger, "I always know what I am talking about." My connecting flight was supposed to leave St. Louis at 8:05 a.m. I arrived at 8:07 a.m. I was hoping that the flight would have been delayed since St. Louis got snow too. Nope, my flight was gone. I was told that American does not like to hold up flights for connecting passengers. The next flight to Dallas was an hour later. Nope, I couldn't get on that flight. I finally got on around 11:00 a.m. On the way home on Sunday, my flight left at 12:35 p.m. We were late boarding due to an equipment problem. They finally boarded us 15 minutes later, but then we sat on the runway for about 45 more minutes while they fixed the faulty gauge. Meanwhile, American Airlines called my wife at home to inform her that my 5:25 PM connecting flight from O'Hare to Milwaukee had been cancelled. However, they were nice enough to put me on a 9:00 a.m. flight the next morning. This phone call took place at 12:18 p.m. The customer service rep that my wife spoke to was horribly rude. She was able to get transferred to a different rep who put me on a 6:55 PM flight later that evening. Why they didn't put me on that flight in the first place is beyone me. No explanation was ever given why the 5:25 PM flight was cancelled. When I arrived at O'Hare, I saw that my flight was cancelled. I also noticed that there were at least 10 other American flights that were cancelled. I was hoping to get into Madison because it is a lot closer to my home, but the flight to Madison was cancelled as well. Anyway, I was able to watch the majority of the Super Bowl at the airport. 6:00 PM rolls around, and American announced that my 6:55 PM flight was now pushed back to 8:55 pm because the crew was stuck in Pittsburgh. Our plane was at the gate, but no crew. It started snowing around 7:30 PM. 8:55 rolls around, and no flight from Pittsburgh. I then checked American's depature board. Of the 75 or so departures listed, approximately 65 were cancelled or delayed. No exaggeration. I have never seen anything like that before. The weather was not that bad because some flights were taking off without problems. The Pittsburgh flight arrived around 9:25 p.m. We board the airplane around 9:45 p.m. By this point, the airplane was covered in snow. You would have think they would have deiced the plane while we were waiting for the crew. Nope. We then sat on the plane for over 45 minutes to wait for a deicing truck. They finally finished de-icing the plane around 11:05 p.m. and we took off. I had the rudest flight attendant in history on the short flight from Chicago to Milwaukee. While we were on the ground waiting for the de-icing truck, we were told that we still could not use cell phones or electronic devices. She said if we do, she will report the infraction to the captain. She then stalked up and down the aisles like a Catholic schoolteacher. She reminded me a lot of the landlord in Kingpin. My experience with American was horrible. Every step of the way.
  21. Well, I seem to be in the same boat as a few other people here. I had some issues with my former job, so I had to resign. There just aren't a lot of jobs in my field open in this area, so my wife brought up the idea of relocating. At first we were just looking into the idea of relocating somewhere in the state, but I brought up the idea of relocating out of state. Now, she's more excited than I am. She hates winter. My main concern with relocating out of state (down south) is the quality of education for my kids. My daughter is in 2nd grade and my son will start kindergarten next year. I've been primarily looking into college towns on the notion that the public schools should be better. I'm in the hiring process for Athens, GA, Winston-Salem, NC, Gwinnett County, GA, and Rowlett, TX. This past weekend I flew down to Dallas because I had to participate in phase I of the hiring process for Rowlett. Rowlett is a suburb of Dallas approximately 20-25 miles outside of downtown. At first I was a little intimidated because the Dallas/Fort Worth Metro area is HUGE. It is so spread out. Once I spent a little more time in Rowlett, I felt better. Rowlett is its own community, and it does not feel anything like Dallas. This weekend, I'm flying down to Athens.
  22. I'll bite. Here's my Top 10 lists. I may not agree with some of the list (like Spring Green tourist area being better than Miller Park), but is is probably the realistic. Top 10 tourist attractions/events: 1) Wisconsin Dells 2) Door County 3) Summerfest 4) Badger Football Saturdays 5) Packers Sundays 6) Milwaukee: The City of Festivals 7) Spring Green area: House on the Rock, American Player's Theatre, Taliesin 8) Miller Park 9) State Street in Madison 10) Warrens Cranberry Festival Top 10 Greatest Athletes of All-Time: I'l skip this one Top 5 Best Cities/Spots for people under 30: 1) Madison 2) Milwaukee 3) La Crosse 4) Appleton 5) Oshkosh Top 10 Worst Cities: 1) Township of Madison 2) Racine 3) North side of Milwaukee 4) Kenosha 5) Kohler (The SMUG factor is out of control) 6) Lone Rock (Welcome to Lone Rock, population: Desparation and despair) 7) Kaukauna (The smell would drive me out of town in 2 minutes) 8) Rosendale 9) Adams-Friendship 10) Superior (Although I went to college here, the long winters and vast number of bars = One of the highest alcoholic rates per capita in the USA I like Janesville. I'm probably 10 miles closer to Madison than Janesville, but I'll make the longer drive to Janesville. Less crowds, and no gangbangers in the mall. Hawing is strangely missing from this thread.
  23. I didn't see it, but I read the results. Who eliminated Wisconsin's own Hornswoggle? Nobody. He should be going to Wrestlemania. =-) I hope they close that loophole tonight on Raw, but they probably won't. Flair should have won by DQ or countout over MVP. Making MVP tap out made him look weak. MVP has a much brighter future than Ric Flair in this point of his career. Finally, why in the world is Chavo Guerrero ECW champ? How weak does that make ECW look? With the exception of his Los Guerrero run with Eddie, Chavo has been a bottom-feeder in WWE for years.
  24. Remember, there has been a series of home invasion robberies involving star sports athletes. Had the previous week's incident not happened, that is what I would be leaning towards.
  25. I thought I lost all faith in humanity earlier this year when the film Epic Movie made almost 30 million in its opening weekend. However, some of my faith has been restored after I went shopping on Black Friday. I work 3rd shift, so I hit the stores after work at 7am. You know what... Everybody was friendly and in a good mood. I hit Wal-Mart, Radio Shack, and Menards. I saw no pushing, no shoving, nobody blaring their horns, and people were saying "excuse me" when accidentally bumping into me. However, it kind of hurts to see the exact same GPS I purchased in October be on sale at numerous stores for $50-$75 less than what I paid.
