  1. Just having another competent arm helps the Brewers repeat the success they’ve had in recent Septembers, post roster expansion. Plus it gives the top arms additional rest so they’re fresh for the postseason.
  2. In the last 8 days, half of the RBIs Brewer starters have given up have been to Lance Lynn.
  3. .838 OPS; plus, versatile defense; plus baserunner; clutch. Can’t take him out of the lineup.
  4. Not much value, but it likely makes sense to consider Vogelbach to be a trade candidate.
  5. The White Sox are receiving similar Royal treatment that the Brewers experienced last week. KC is on its towards its 8th win in 9 games.
  6. Since the Cubs won the World Series and appeared to be starting a dynasty, the Brewers have a better record by 5.5 games. It seemed unbelievable at the time that this is how it played out.
  7. Have prospect rankings been updated during this season? Otherwise they have much less meaning than usual, being based mainly on performance ending 22 months ago.
  8. Mets beat the Reds 15-11 in 11 innings. Brewers are up 7.5 in the Central.
  9. Context?? Probably means Hendrix, the Reds’ pitcher who gave up two homers in the 11th.
  10. Anthony Banda sighting for the Mets against the Reds. Banda was traded by the Brewers 7 years ago along with Mitch Haniger for Gerardo Parra.
  11. 2 Ks to finish off the combined shutout. Hopefully that will increase his confidence.
  12. If it’s not serious, could the 10 days be retroactive to the last time he pitched, 6 days ago?
  13. Marquee matchups with the Astros / White Sox, Padres / Nationals, even Brewers / Reds … and MLB Network goes with yet another yawner of a Red Sox / Yankees game.
  14. The bottom five in the order has a combined batting average of .158, more than halfway through the season.
  15. What’s the earliest a team has ever used a position player as a pitcher? Who is that guy on the Brewers? Jackie Bradley?
  16. Get well soon, Brett!
  17. With Vogey out for a while, how about a trade for Sano, who’s about worn out his welcome in Minnesota.
  18. JP with 9 walks and 9 strikeouts since the trade. Richards with 1 walk and 12 strikeouts since the trade. I assumed Richards would be a slight downgrade from JP. If it’s at least a wash, then it’s basically Rasmussen for Adames. For some reason Rasmussen is in the minors for the Rays and not even being stretched out as a starter. It makes it puzzling why the Rays would make the deal if they didn’t have a need for a reliever. They must think Rasmussen has incredible upside. In any case, thank you, Rays!
