  1. There have been 2 runs scored in 42 half-innings so far today, during what was supposed to be on of the most exciting days in MLB history.
  2. Suter for 5 (Houser if Suter is in trouble) Yardley / Claudio for 6 Williams for 7-8 Hader for 9 Peralta may not be at 100% after throwing a lot on Sunday.
  3. There are six NL teams above .500.
  4. Phelps has now given up 5 home runs in 6 1/3 innings with the Phillies.
  5. Jordan Yamamoto gave up 13 runs tonight.
  6. He’ll have reached Russell Branyan-level legend status by this time next week.
  7. The two-time defending NL reliever of the year just broke the major league record for hitless appearances to start the season - and that guy is the second most effective reliever on his own team.
  8. Yankees have lost 7 games in a row.
  9. Corbin and Devin have been the highlights of the season, by a wide margin.
  10. Throw an 0-2, low fastball to Jacob Nottingham at your own peril.
  11. Things turned out well with Hader and Williams not pitching Sunday and being available both Monday and Tuesday.
  12. Brewers are .500, and 55% of their games have been against first-place teams.
  13. The Brewers losing a game when they use most of their bullpen pieces feels like two losses. All they have left is Freddy.
  14. I dread facing this team every year. They always seem to give the Brewers fits. Brewers handled the Twins pretty well until the Brewers started unloading hitters while the Twins added hitters.
  15. Brewers are .500 in spite of being outscored 49-18 in the first four innings this season.
  16. Brewers are hitting .173/.228/.258 in the first four innings of games through game 20.
  17. With the shortened season, 3 straight wins at Wrigley translates to 8.1 straight wins at Wrigley.
  18. This feels like the Brewers’ worst roster since 2004 and one of the Reds’ best rosters over the same timeframe - and they’re in a virtual tie in the standings.
  19. Cubs will play their main division competitors, the Cardinals and Brewers, 18 times at Wrigley and 3 times away from Wrigley.
  20. Here’s an interesting article. It’s been traditionally easy to find a no-field bat to stick at first base, but that may no longer be the case. https://www.si.com/mlb/2020/08/06/baseball-first-basemen-albert-pujols
  21. I don’t think I’ve ever been more excited about the short-term and long-term prospects for a Brewer starting rotation. By 2022, the righties Woody, Houser, Burners, and potentially Peralta could be joined by the lefties Lauer, Small, Ashby, and Kelly.
  22. Ben Yelich and Christian Gamel are having predictable seasons.
