  1. The HD DVD player is considered a pretty solid player at a very reasonable price. It is why it has become a favorite of technophiles who know how to mod it to play without owning a 360.
  2. My comment wasn't directed at you. More of a general "Here we go again" kind of statement. Sorry if it came across any other way. We had a pretty lengthy discussion earlier in the off season about Teahan, and devoted an entire thread to him. Comments from scouts all the wayup to Billy Beane were linked that all claimed he was an outstanding defensive player, and most questions were about his bat. I'll try and find it for you before I go tonight. As for why Melvin hasn't brought him up, he seems like the player they would most likely be after, and Melvin always seems to play his cards pretty close to the vest. Perhaps all this posturing about Rolen and Taguchi and so forth was merely a way to try and get a more reasonable offer from KC for Teahan. They certainly don't have to trade him, and I would think they would want a decent return for him. But really, I have no idea.
  3. So you are saying he has caught up to AA pitching?
  4. How many times do we have to go over the scouting reports that clearly state Teahan is an outstanding defensive third baseman?
  5. What about that hitch in his swing?
  6. Concert tickets go for way more then $500. I know for certain big name acts like Hannah Montanna they routinely sell for thousands after selling out in minutes. Right now the highest reported price paid is somewhere around $20K for a ticket to her concert. And it's a huge money maker for ticket brokers, which is why any of the major firms use macros to swoop in and claim every available ticket and create an artificial secondary market where they can set whatever price they choose. Tossing blame at those willing to pay those ridiculous sums is ignoring the fact the practice of market manipulation is immoral, unethical, and in many instances blatantly illegal.
  7. I suppose one could use companies that use macros to purchase all available tickets within seconds of release as an example of an ethical business practice. Though I wouldn't. Plus I don't think the ridiculousness that now exists with concert tickets and such is anywhere near the case of what has happened with the Wii. The combination of production line issues that have slowed production with a demand that far exceeded expectations has created an environment that makes it incredibly difficult to find a Wii. If you want one for a reasonable price you'll have to wait outside in line just like everyone else has.
  8. While in this particular instance Nintendo hasn't been able to up production enough to keep up with the demand, I think their is a valid argument that people simply buying them to sell them on a secondary market certainly isn't helping matters.
  9. Well Milledge will be a star player. While Church is a solid role player and Schneider is a nice piece as well, this trade screams Kazmir for Zambrano.
  10. Cruised to 43 then screwed up turpitude. I'm knapping myself for that singularity.
  11. I only prefer replay when I'm using Jax to rip off my opponent's arms. Far more effective to taunt that way.
  12. I hate Jim for pointing out he's older then me. Much, much older.
  13. King started heavily recycling his themes back in the mid 90's, which is about when I got tired of him. It also doesn't help that he has admitted that he has no idea how a book will end when he starts it, which results in pages and pages of filler and an eventual use of deus ex machina to end the book. He'd gotten lazier as a writer before the accident, and that certainly didn't help him any. That all being said, when he's on he writes some outstanding books across multiple genres.
  14. Is it confirmed that Smash Bros Brawl isn't using the motion sensor?
  15. Also foamboy, the Godfather game is violently addictive, in all the right ways.
  16. If you plan on multi-player Super Mario Striker is fantastic. Though Wii Sports is still the best game on the system.
  17. I love getting a pedicure. *ducks*
  18. These should be at the top of any non-fiction must read list. http://www.uncrate.com/men/images/zombie-survival-guide.jpg http://media.npr.org/programs/totn/features/2006/09/zombies/WorldWarZ_200.jpg
  19. Honestly, it sounds like someone was trying to crash the system.

  21. Sleuth is outright terrible. Please don't waste your hard earned money or valuable time on it. Ever. I wholeheartedly agree with Robert's take on Zodiac. Excellent film that is easily one of the best of the year.
  22. I wouldn't be surprised if the prices on eBay start climbing by Thanksgiving, so I think you made a pretty safe investment Al.
  23. Al, if you still have any contacts at Toy R Us I would try them. Most of the big retailers get shipments once a week, and if you know the day it is simply a matter of showing up and hoping they will be in stock. It's amazing that a year after release they are still this hard to find, and a testament to what a great product it is.
  24. Mattingly's agent is already claiming the media reports about him not feeling ready are false. Link
  25. Th Nashville rotation is a bit thin at the moment too. If they bring Hammond up that should lesson the urgency at trying to find minor league vets to fill out the rotation, though they will still probably need at least two. And I am still leaning towards Patrick's opinion that LaPorta starts at BC next season. But I can't see him staying down there much more then two months with a mid-season call-up at the latest.
