  1. The T-Wolves owe their next two first round picks due to trades. One for Marko Jaric, and I forget who the other was for. Acquiring picks from Boston just means they will actually have first round picks the next two years.
  2. This trade is horrible. Yet your avatar remains unchanged. Hmm...
  3. Those better be 30 or so beautiful innings Mr. Linebrink gives the Crew. This from the "Link Report Guy". http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  4. When I was 18-23 almost everyone I knew had an eating disorder, drinking problem, and/or a drug problem. They just couldn't afford rehab, and they weren't constantly in the public eye like Lohan is. Good grief the midwest is a veritable cornucopia of Meth and alcohol abusers. Toss in cocaine, marijuana, and X and it isn't hard to find recreational users just about anywhere.
  5. The first questions that need to be asked is how old are you and at what age do you plan to retire? If you don't need this money for several years or decades you should be investing fairly aggressively, as you can assume greater risk.
  6. Reed, Transformers isn't appropriate for an 11 year old, unless you are prepared to have "the talk" with him afterwards. Labyrinth was re-released this week with a remastered print, go take him to that. It's at least a good movie.
  7. I'm freaking shameless. Yes it's political, but it's on another site, so I totally circumvented the rules. Woo Hoo!!! Outside of that, I hope you enjoy how I slaughtered the song Hawing. Shameless blog whoring aside, it really depends on whether or not you want people to read what you are writing. I have multiple blogs, and only a few of them do I do any sort of pimping for them. I'm simply not much of a fan of whoring out my own work on any sort of frequent basis. I'd rather people find me, and tell me how awesome I am, rather then me shove it in front of their faces.
  8. They come. Lots and lots of them. You know Edgar, I'm just going to ignore the subtle stereotyping of the Japanese in that photo. But I'm watching you. Besides, they loves their Kenji. http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/dayart/20060125/226johjima25_outside1.jpg
  9. Can we do a poll on whether or not we do this? You cool with that Jim? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif
  10. Shouldn't we be discussing Frozen Custard, not Ice Cream? What are ya, Cubs fans?
  11. He didn't catch anything, but maybe no one hit one near him. Or maybe they did. It is nice to see he's finally tapped into his talent. It seems like he was a can't miss prospect only a decade or so ago.
  12. At this point Brian, you could probably remove his ban. I doubt he'd ever come back after finding out about this thread. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  13. I've also gleaned that all stats are useless unless they meet the specified approval of about five of us who can verify the authenticity of the statistic, and whether that said statistic meets veriability requirements, such as whether said statistic agrees with viewpoint of said statistical interpreter. You really need to hang out with Geno and David. They will appreciate this nice bit of sarcasm just as much as I do.
  14. Using ERA for the past month is hardly useless, but it shouldn't be the end all be all stat used to judge how a pitcher is performing. Hopefully the time on the DL plus this extra break helps him recouperate enough that his seemingly typical September swoon doesn't occur this year.
  15. I agree with Ben that the characters aren't very true to the cartoon versions of themselves. I'd go into more detail, but I don't want to reveal too many spoilers. I'd even argue that Prime wasn't very true to the cartoon.
  16. The noise is made throughout the movie. No it isn't. They use it for the first transformation oncscreen, then drop it for most of the film, then use parts of it towards the end. And yes, the film is terrible, which segues nicely into my shameless plug for my review.
  17. Incidently, since I'm sure someone on this board must be interested, my own personal theme song is Bonnie Tyler's inspirational classic Holding Out For A Hero. I have no idea what Prince's is, and considering the bomb I just dropped, can't imagine why anyone else would be preoccupied with discovering it either.
  18. Just because the girl's parents signed a consent form, that doesn't make him less of a pedophile. He's not a pedophile, he's an ephebophile.
  19. I have no idea why but Braun skipped my mind. You are correct to bring him up. But even Braun exceeded his original timetable by mashing at every level. Could LaPorta make it to starting in the bigs with just ~ 2 full years of minor league ball, sure. But I hardly think it's prudent to expect that out of a first round draft pick. You're only setting yourself up for disappointment far more often then not. And considering the roller coaster that is the emotions of this board, it'd be nice if poeple tempered their expectations a bit more on someone who has yet to see a single pitch at any professional level.
  20. Projecting LaPorta to take over LF in '09 is highly unlikely. Weeks has been the only player Jack Z has ever put on that sort of timetable, and LaPorta simply isn't in Weeks' class as a prospect. Outside of acquiring an impact bat like Dunn, which is highly unlikely, the most likely place this team should look to improve is in the bullpen. Their are several teams that have good young arms in the pen or in AAA and TGJ is an attractive chip to have. Minnesota certainly might be interested.
  21. This site sucks. A few years ago Brian set the machine to 5 and BAM, here I am sitting in front of my comp still obsessively checking minor league stats and reading endless debates on strikeouts, lead-off hitters, and pseudo-Pickler's. I shant imagine what would happen if he sets it to 50. http://www.thecinemasource.com/moviesdb/images/Christopher_Guest%20-%201%20-%20For_Your_Consideration.jpg
  22. You don't need to have cable TV to get cable internet, but you do need cables run into your house/apartment. If they are already wired for cable, then it's quite simple to sign up for broadband.
  23. Moss does seem to be the bottleneck. My guess is after the first half ends he'll get bumped up and that should free up positions and playing time at all the lower levels.
  24. While I'm sure you're joking and trying to be funny, that's seriously not cool. He's just feeding a baby to the rich as some might say. Though why satire would be wasted on Paris is beyond me. It's like punching babies or deriding fire balling prep pitchers. Easy targets.
  25. Similar clauses are typically written into contracts in the finance industry as well. Though once your initial contract runs out (typically 1-2 years) you are free to work without one and may leave at your own discretion.
