I think MLB prefers having at least one major city without a team to use as leverage over existing teams that are looking for stadium deals.

As is my custom, I want GB to trade down from 13 and accumulate picks. Some goober (cough McCarthy cough) really wants Bijan Robinson. I can feel it.

Has there been a published update on GB's cap situation? I guess they can't do that until deal is final final.

I think a bigger drawback for MLB is the size of the Vegas TV market. It's smaller than Milwaukee. https://www.stationindex.com/tv/tv-markets Surprisingly, it's also smaller than Grand Rapids/Kalamazoo/Battle Creek

I think a Vegas baseball team will get plenty of out of town fans like the Raiders do. Probably a good draw for the city in the summer when there might be less tourism. As for a minor league team + a major league team....I think it makes sense if this was A or A+ ball but AAA seems odd.

yeah they make offers and then back off. They typically don't rescind the offer. I don't know what the deal is here just stating a possibility.

sometimes they pass on guys for one reason or another. even really good guys. culture fit, grades, attitude.... who knows why

The Rays are 12 - 0 and have a team payroll that's less than the combined salaries of Aaron Judge and Garrit Cole.

That's probably part of the reason he's a 3rd - 5th round projection and not a round 1 projection despite similar stats/measurables to JSN. He may have reached his physical ceiling while a 21 year old still has room for improvement.

Charlie Jones is already 24 years old (25 in October).

To me route running corresponds with your ability to get separation and get open. Davante Adams isn't a huge burner but dude gets open because he is an elite route runner.

I could be totally wrong but I think shuttle probably corresponds to good route running.
