I say ban him for the weekend. Let's spice things up around here. I didn’t know we could jinx no hitters on a message board? Well not yet. Still two innings to go.
Yeah that was like high school Was thinking more like football. You didn't play long if you never had a firebreathing coach tear you a new one like that on the sideline. I can see it for football but I'm not sure what a fire breathing speech is gonna do for baseball (as evidenced by the 2 K's immediately afterward)
I could see Stearns going after a guy like Asdrubal Cabrera. Switch hitter, can play 1st and 3rd, might get you 800 OPS for half a season if things go right, he's cheap, and you don't have to commit past this year.
Lebron is not on Jordan's level. I agree that The Decision and move to LA hurts his legacy quite a bit. Only thing I disagree with is that Jordan won with less talent. I think where Pippen gets the shaft is on defense. He was an elite defender.
San Diego was 13 - 12 at one point in April and that corresponded with Tatis being out with injury and then coming back and struggling for a bit. He had an OPS of .591 on April 22. Since then his OPS is 1.317
I'm not sure they knew they were going to draft Love until 10 minutes before they drafted him. That isn't what he said though. He is simply pointing out the fact the Packers knew they were willing to draft a QB in the first round before hand. You don't just decide, hey, lets trade up and draft a QB. You had to have had quite a few conversations over a period of time prior to the draft to be willing to trade up for a QB like that. I am guessing the 15 or so drafts prior basically any QB in the entire draft could have fallen to their first (or even second) pick and they wouldn't have drafted them. But they also had a bunch of conversations about trading up to get Aiyuk or Jefferson.
